He strained against his chains, his entire body convulsing as he threw his head back. He tried and tried, his jaw locking so hard his teeth clicked violently together.
But suddenly, a dark, brilliant stream of crimson blood began to trickle out of his left ear, running down the clean-shaven line of his jaw.
Before I could even grab him, Reuben's eyes rolled completely into the back of his head, showing nothing but a terrifying, veiny white. A harsh, choking gasp caught in his throat, and his whole body went rigid before violently thrashing against the metal chair. The heavy chains slammed against the desk in a frantic, deafening rhythm as he fell into a full-blown seizure.
"Hold him!" I roared, lunging across the table.
