"You will be feeding Cheese today?" she asked, aghast.
My silence was enough of an answer. Rina gazed up at me as if I had suddenly grown a second head.
"What about it?" I asked, my voice flat.
"Are you sure?" she questioned, her skepticism palpable.
"When have I ever been uncertain about what I intend to do?" I adjusted my glasses, the frames catching the dim light of the corridor.
She stroked her hairless chin, a thoughtful expression crossing her face. "That's a fair point."
I scoffed, turning on my heel. "I already had the cheese prepared."
"I hope it is not the fancy ones, Alpha."
I stopped, facing her again with a furrowed brow. "Why not the high-quality, flavorful variety?"
Her face split into a pitiful smile as she unnecessarily cupped her hand over her mouth, whispering as though we were not the only two souls in the room. "He only eats the stinky kind."
