Chapter 145 - Chapter 145: The Weight of Blood and Silence

*Day 2*

Livia barely slept after the first day of the Lunar Game. The screams, the cries, the agonized shouts—they replayed in her mind all night like a torment she couldn't escape. 

She had tried to watch, she had tried to be brave, but she hadn't expected the brutality of it. After only an hour, she left the viewing room just to breathe.

And now, with dawn breaking, her exhaustion was obvious—her eyes were red, her expression worn.

"You can rest here, my love. You don't have to watch the game" Aldus murmured gently, guiding her back onto the bed with careful hands.

"I didn't know the game would be that brutal," she whispered, her voice trembling. 

Aldus exhaled softly. "Forgive me," he said with guilt weighing down his tone. "If I had known it would affect you this way, I would never have allowed you to watch."

"You don't need to apologize, Aldus. I wanted to see it," Livia said with a small, tired smile.
