Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 The Wine Bug

The previous part covered the general content of the original work; this chapter continues from [Chapter One: Fang Yuan's Rebirth].

After Fang Yuan was tested to have A-grade aptitude, the whole venue was filled with joy. The voices of the Gu Yue Clan Members saying things like "This Fang Yuan is remarkable" echoed in his ears.

"As expected, Big Brother has A-grade aptitude. I wonder what mine will be?"

At this moment, Fang Zheng's heart was filled with trepidation. How dazzling his brother's radiance was, and how humble he felt as the younger brother. Hearing the School Elder Gu Yue Shi shout "Next, Ancient Moon Fangzheng," Fang Zheng finally snapped out of his daze and walked out of the crowd.

"I... I'm here..." Fang Zheng's face flushed red with embarrassment. With his head lowered, he walked quickly toward the river.

Splash—water splattered everywhere. Fang Zheng wasn't paying attention, his foot slipped, and he fell into the river.

"It's over, it's over. I've completely disgraced myself today."

Just then, a hand pulled Fang Zheng out of the water. He saw Fang Yuan's dark and deep eyes:

"Go on. The road ahead will be very exciting."

"Big Brother..."

No one knew how much time had passed before another loud commotion erupted from the crowd. Fang Zheng was also tested to have A-grade aptitude, though it was only eighty percent A-grade, whereas Fang Yuan's was ninety percent A-grade.

Fang Zheng also experienced the feeling of being like Stars Arching Towards the Moon. This was the first time he looked up to his brother, Fang Yuan.

"The older brother is A-grade, and the younger brother is also A-grade. How do these Fang brothers each manage to suppress me?" Gu Yue Mo Bei, the biological grandson of the influential Elder Gu Yue Mo Chen, gritted his teeth in secret, feeling extremely unwilling.

Gu Yue Chi Cheng also had a face full of worry. His true Aptitude was only C-grade, which couldn't compare to the A-grade aptitude of the Fang brothers, nor to his arch-rival Mo Bei.

"I have my grandfather's silver primeval essence to help nourish my aperture. I wonder if I can match Mo Bei."

After the Aperture Opening Ceremony ended, there were a total of fifty-seven new Students, including Fang Yuan. How could a Gu Master not have a Gu worm? Every new Student could receive a Rank One Gu worm at the academy.

The academy didn't have any exceptionally good Gu worms. Fang Yuan chose a Rank One moonlight gu. Most of the Students chose the moonlight gu because it was the signature Gu worm of the Gu Yue Village.

After obtaining their first Gu worm, most Students immediately went home to refine the moonlight gu into their vital Gu.

Fang Yuan did not do this. He had a better vital Gu to refine, which was the wine worm from the flower wine inheritance.

"So, you plan to take the Flower Wine Walker's wine worm?" Yuan Fang's words did not surprise Fang Yuan, but Yuan Fang's next words caused waves of shock to surge in Fang Yuan's heart:

"Take a close look at your aperture."

Deep within the bronze primeval sea, a cicada slowly appeared. Its blood-red eyes looked in all directions, and its withered wings revealed the vicissitudes of time.

spring autumn cicada, a rank six Space Path immortal gu, possesses the power to reverse time and be reborn. And this spring autumn cicada was Fang Yuan's vital Gu, which would undoubtedly be a great help to Fang Yuan's grand plan for eternal life.

"It seems my previous guess was correct; this Yuan Fang definitely knows something." Thinking of this, the look Fang Yuan gave Yuan Fang turned slightly cold. He did not like situations being out of his control; even with someone in the same boat, he could not let his guard down.

"To think that I, a grand Demonic Path giant, would be so hesitant? Even if the road ahead is long and uncertain, I am already on it. Even if I die, I will have no regrets."

"The spring autumn cicada becoming my vital Gu is undoubtedly a good thing. I can use the immortal gu aura of the spring autumn cicada to help refine Gu worms."

Thinking this, Fang Yuan suddenly smiled. With a thought, the immortal gu aura manifested. He grabbed the moonlight gu and refined it in an instant.

That night, the moonlight was peaceful. According to Yuan Fang's memory, the flower wine inheritance was near a small waterfall by the Bai Family Village. There was an inconspicuous Rock Crevice Secret Cave there, and the Flower Wine Walker's remains were inside.

Prior to this, Yuan Fang had already gone to the only inn in Gu Yue Village and bought a jar of green bamboo wine for two primeval stones.

green bamboo wine was the best fine wine in Gu Yue Village. Spilling the green bamboo wine on the ground soon attracted a chubby little silkworm—this was the wine worm.

Yuan Fang was overjoyed. Following the wine worm, he crawled into the Flower Wine Walker's Rock Crevice Secret Cave. Inside the stone chamber behind the Rock Crevice Secret Cave, the Flower Wine Walker's remains were sitting there.

On the stone wall, there was also a Photo-Audio Gu. The Photo-Audio Gu could record events. At this moment, this Photo-Audio Gu was playing the scene of the Fourth Generation Clan Leader ambushing the Flower Wine Walker.

Yuan Fang grabbed the wine worm, and the chubby wine worm almost burst under his grip.

Just then, the spring autumn cicada released a wisp of overwhelming aura, instantly suppressing the wine worm. In just a moment, the wine worm was refined.

Yuan Fang searched the Flower Wine Walker's body again, but after searching for a long time, he only found fifteen primeval stones. Although the amount was small, it was better than nothing. Yuan Fang carefully put away the primeval stones and then woke up Fang Yuan within him.

"You take control of the body and use the moonlight gu to grind down this stone wall bit by bit," Yuan Fang said in a heavy voice.

Fang Yuan didn't say much and directly took control of the body. The moonblade in his palm spun at high speed, scraping away at the hard stone wall bit by bit.

This process was tedious and long. Even by the dawn of the next day, the stone wall remained intact, without showing the slightest sign of loosening.

"At this rate, we should be able to break through the stone wall by the day after tomorrow. But why do you insist on doing this?"

Fang Yuan sat cross-legged, recovering his breath while replenishing his consumed primeval essence, and asked.

"Simply because behind this stone wall lies the Flower Wine Walker's lifelong Legacy."

Hearing that the Flower Wine Walker's inheritance was actually behind the stone wall, a flash of surprise crossed Fang Yuan's eyes, but he wasn't too shocked. After some thought, he said:

"The sun has already risen. Let's continue tonight. For now, I'll leave the control of this body to you."

When Yuan Fang returned to the inn entrance, the sky was just beginning to brighten. He raised his hand to push open the wooden door of the inn, only to see Nanny Shen from his Uncle and Aunt's house standing before the door.

Nanny Shen was just an ordinary Mortal. Her daughter, Shen Cui, was originally a young maidservant by Fang Yuan's side. After Fang Yuan was tested to have C-grade Aptitude, Shen Cui turned to deliberately flatter and seduce Fang Zheng.

Sometimes Yuan Fang really couldn't understand Fang Zheng's thoughts:

Shen Cui had neither the cold, ice-and-snow-like temperament of Bai Ning Bing, nor the peerless beauty and pure, kind nature of Shang Xin Ci. She was actually quite coarse and had a malicious Heart-Nature. Yet, with just a bit of deliberate enthusiasm and initiative, she managed to make Fang Zheng completely infatuated.

Seeing Fang Yuan appear, Nanny Shen immediately stepped forward and said:

"Young Master Fang Yuan, so you were here! You stayed out all night, and the Master and Madam were worried sick. They sent servants everywhere to look for you! Young Master Fang Yuan, please come home with this old servant quickly."

Nanny Shen feigned a look of concern and worry, as if the Uncle and Aunt really had stayed up all night looking for Fang Yuan.

Facing Nanny Shen's "concerned" gaze, Yuan Fang remained expressionless. His deep eyes swept over her coldly—that single glance alone made Nanny Shen's heart hair stand on end, and her legs weakened.

Yuan Fang handed the wine jar, which only had a bit of leftover wine, to Nanny Shen and said indifferently, "I see." After saying that, he turned and walked into the inn.

Nanny Shen stood dazed on the spot, unable to figure out how she had offended this terrifying person.

A moment later, Yuan Fang spent two primeval stones to buy a small jar of green bamboo wine and carried it out of the inn. He placed the new wine jar in front of Nanny Shen, took back the jar with only a bit of green bamboo wine left from her hand, tilted his head back, and drank it all in one gulp.

The fragrance of the wine entered his throat; it was indeed fine wine. Although it couldn't compare to the Green Flame Wine of the great philanthropist Feng Xi from the Chaotic Star Sea, it was still a top-quality brew.

"Let's go!" Yuan Fang looked at the already terrified Nanny Shen and felt it was strangely amusing.

Now he had two primeval stones on hand, plus the ones obtained from the Flower Wine Walker, totaling seventeen. Aside from the spring autumn cicada which didn't need feeding, Fang Yuan and Yuan Fang also had to raise the wine worm and the moonlight gu. In the future, there would only be more Gu worms to feed.

Yuan Fang knew that in the future, he would also need to support the white boar gu, jade skin gu, Earth Listener Right Ear Grass, and Concealing Stone Gu.

In his previous life, to prevent the Rock Crevice Secret Cave from being discovered, Fang Yuan had spent a lot of time hunting wild boars on Qing Mao Mountain just to feed the white boar gu.

But in this life, Fang Yuan had A-grade aptitude; his ninety percent primeval sea made him the number one Genius of the Gu Yue Village. Fang Zheng only had eighty percent primeval sea, so Fang Yuan didn't need to act so cautiously at all.

At the Rank One Realm, the difference wasn't obvious yet, but by Rank Two or Rank Three, Fang Yuan would enjoy preferential treatment similar to Ning Bing.

"If I can eliminate the disaster that is Bai Ning Bing in advance, I can completely follow the clan route and act as a Righteous Path Gu Master, which would save me many detours. I could directly take over the Bai Family Village and Xiong Family Village, then launch an expedition to White Bone Mountain. With the bone flesh reunion gu, I could create a large amount of Elder-level combat power."

"No, there's also the Gu Yue First Generation and Heavenly Crane Venerable; both are troublesome opponents. I have the Gu recipe for the Blade Wing Blood Bat. I only need the flesh and blood of some Rank Three Gu Masters, plus some cheap blood path gu materials, to refine the Rank Three Blade Wing Blood Bat."

"The Blade Wing Blood Bat was created by the Rank Seven Gu Immortal Blood Sea Ancestor. This Gu worm doesn't consume much primeval essence, and a single male bat can control thousands of female bats. These Blade Wing Blood Bats not only reproduce quickly, but each one also possesses the combat power of a Hundred Beast King."

"If I can refine the Rank Three Blade Wing Blood Bat, it might play an unexpected role in the battle against the Gu Yue First Generation. The Flower Wine Walker's Thousand-Mile Earth Wolf Spider can also be utilized; that's an existence with Rank Five combat power."

Yuan Fang naturally knew that the Thousand-Mile Earth Wolf Spider had long been contaminated by the blood frenzy gu, but Fang Yuan was a Blood Path Grandmaster. In his memories, there were many ways to cleanse the contamination of the blood frenzy gu.

"Selling the Photo-Audio Gu to the Bai Family Village would undoubtedly earn thousands of primeval stones, but doing so would instead expose the flower wine inheritance."

"If I sell it to the clan, although I won't get as many primeval stones, I am an A-grade Genius, the hope and future of the Gu Yue Village, and a key figure to counter Bai Ning Bing. Even if the wine worm is exposed, it will only become my vital Gu, and no one will compete with me for it."

"This Photo-Audio Gu is a Rank Two Gu; perhaps I can take this opportunity to demand another Gu."

For the current Fang Yuan, selling the Photo-Audio Gu to the clan would bring great benefits, while the potential damage was almost negligible.
