Hearing the words of the Deep Sea Demon Whale King, Di Tian's expression flickered slightly before he spoke calmly. "The Great Star Dou Forest still needs a leader for now. You needn't worry about my affairs; I presume His Majesty has already planned a path for me."
The Deep Sea Demon Whale King was taken aback for a moment, then let out a frank laugh. Indeed, given Gu Xuan's current strength and strategic depth, everything in the future had likely been arranged. Everything was currently proceeding exactly along the lines Gu Xuan had drawn.
Gu Xuan glanced at Di Tian and said indifferently. "Heh, it seems you are indeed smart enough. However, I can't be bothered to explain everything one by one. You just need to do what you ought to do now; I have already paved your future path for you."
Then, changing the subject, Gu Xuan asked. "How is the Silver Dragon King's recovery progressing?"
At this question, Di Tian's gaze dimmed momentarily before he replied. "My Lord's origin was severely damaged. Even with the help of the Skydream Iceworm, a mutated Iceworm species, it will still take at least ten thousand years to fully recover."
Gu Xuan nodded upon hearing this and then said. "Take me to see her. I have a few things I wish to ask her."
Di Tian hesitated for a moment but eventually nodded. With a gentle wave of his hand, the waters of the Lake of Life automatically parted, forming a path leading downward.
Gu Xuan released the three Soul Spirits—the Deep Sea Demon Whale King, the Evil Spirit Orca King, and the Azure Sky Bull Python—letting them relax around the Lake of Life. He then followed Di Tian to the bottom of the lake. With Gu Xuan's current mental power, letting them wander outside was no issue at all. Unless these fellows recklessly exhausted their mental energy, staying outside indefinitely would have no ill effects.
Gu Xuan followed Di Tian to the lakebed, where Di Tian opened a series of restrictions, revealing a massive portal. Di Tian turned to Gu Xuan and said. "Please."
As Gu Xuan stepped through the portal, he noted that while this was an application of spatial force, it was slightly different; entering through here felt like arriving in an entirely new dimension.
This new space was not small, covering an area about one-fifth the size of the Great Star Dou Forest. The spiritual energy here was even more dense, permeated with a powerful draconic aura.
Gu Xuan stepped onto the firm ground, looking thoughtful. He then raised his eyes to Di Tian. "This space is impressive. It was likely developed using the body of a Mountain Dragon King as an anchor, wasn't it? Such thick vitality truly lives up to the title 'The Mountain Dragon Shall Always Be King.'"
Di Tian was not surprised that Gu Xuan knew this. After all, he was the disciple of the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings; knowing such things was only natural. Di Tian simply nodded. "When my Lord fled here, she used the body of the Mountain Dragon King senior to open up this place so we could live in seclusion and wait for the chance for revenge."
Di Tian's expression turned somber for a moment before he said. "Come, I have informed my Lord. She is waiting for you at the Dragon God Temple."
Gu Xuan nodded and followed Di Tian toward the highest mountain range in the area. The terrain here mirrored the Great Star Dou Forest, with marshes, deserts, mountains, wetlands, and basins—it was a relatively complete ecosystem.
The Dragon God Temple was situated atop Dragon King Mountain, built using the trunk power of the Mountain Dragon King's body. It was the core of the entire space. Upon entering the temple, Gu Xuan could feel the magnificent atmosphere of the soul beast race. In the center of the temple lay a massive, snowy-white, fleshy worm.
This oversized, fleshy worm was none other than the "cheat code" that would belong to Huo Yuhao ten thousand years later—the Skydream Iceworm.
The Skydream Iceworm noticed Gu Xuan at that moment. To its shock, it was seeing a human in a place entirely populated by Great Beasts. Though it sensed that this human's mental power was incredibly vast—surpassing even its own—it couldn't fathom why a human would be here. Was this what Di Tian and the others had been plotting lately?
Although the Skydream Iceworm's movements were restricted, its mind was free. Di Tian and the others usually communicated via soul power transmissions. Aside from seeing that they were busier than usual, the worm had gained no information, so it was currently full of confusion.
Gu Xuan sized up the Skydream Iceworm. It was ten meters long, with a round head a meter in diameter. Its body was translucent jade-white, and its smooth skin was devoid of any dirt. A faint halo flowed beneath its skin. The pair of golden, glittering little eyes on its head carried a look of "clear stupidity" as it stared at Gu Xuan, wondering what he was thinking.
Most peculiar were the golden rings around its body, starting half a meter from its head. At regular intervals, there was a ring, totaling ten golden patterns from head to tail. Gu Xuan knew this was the symbol of its million-year cultivation, though this fellow was likely the weakest million-year soul beast in existence. Aside from its mental power, its actual combat strength was probably inferior to that of a single Wind Baboon.
Of course, even if its combat strength was poor, its vast mental power was enough to deal with some ten-thousand-year soul beasts. However, right now, it was confined like a small maggot, looking like it had resigned itself to fate—a look that was quite "derpy."
Ten thousand years from now, this fellow would become Huo Yuhao's first million-year soul ring, setting him on the path to the pinnacle of life. It had to be said that while its combat power was low, its other abilities were quite good.
Upon seeing the Skydream Iceworm, Gu Xuan developed a mature plan. Wouldn't it be better if he absorbed the Skydream Iceworm as his final soul ring? Furthermore, by using its energy, he could elevate his first five soul rings to the hundred-thousand-year level. The energy from the Two Dragon Kings could then be absorbed through the worm's body as a medium. This way, Gu Xuan's original plan wouldn't change, the power of the Two Dragon Kings wouldn't be wasted, and he would gain the additional energy of the Skydream Iceworm, making his path to Godhood even more stable and broad.
Thinking of this, Gu Xuan's gaze toward the Skydream Iceworm grew intense. He hadn't thought of this before because he had forgotten the creature's existence, but now that he saw it, he naturally had to utilize it. After all, Great Beasts like Di Tian and Xiong Jun would eventually become Soul Spirits for Gu Xuan's companions and follow them into the God Realm. The worm's utility to them was negligible. As for the Silver Dragon King, she would have new options once Gu Xuan achieved Godhood and wouldn't need the worm at all. Thus, the best end for this big worm was to become Gu Xuan's tenth soul ring.
Sensing Gu Xuan's burning gaze, the Skydream Iceworm inwardly cried out. It was all too familiar with that look—Di Tian and the others had the same look when they first caught it. Now, it had become a living battery. And now there was a human, too?
'Heaven above! Why is my fate so tragic?! I just woke up, and I'm already someone's dinner! It's a pity I can't cry, otherwise, I'd be covered in tears right now!' The Skydream Iceworm wailed inwardly, seemingly protesting to the heavens about its grievances!
