Chapter 2 - 2.

"It's a pleasure to meet you all." Val laughed "I'm Valentine Silve."

Dozens of vines advanced toward the monsters with roses hidden. The carnivorous flowers sprung out when prey was close and mercilessly tore them apart.

"That's my big brother, Vladimir." Valentine sighed

Vladimir snapped, "I heard that sigh!"

The ground split open under Vladimir's foot toward the left and ice spikes shot out toward the right. He easily inflicted wounds that weren't life-threatening and glanced at the helicopters in the sky.

"We need to get out of here." He thought looking at Valentine

He knew what his abilities were but using in combat was an entirely different situation. The pioneers were starting to close in and slip past his attack.

His younger brother nodded, "Coming."

BOOM

Valentine's vines pulled him away while a shield of water enveloped Vladimir. They turned their attention to the source of the attack with seriousness. Every nerve in their bodies were lighting up and warned them...

"They're strong." the brothers thought with worry

A man smiled, "Well, isn't this a mess?"

"Indeed it is." a feminine voice agreed

Vladimir smirked, "You won't let us go will you?"

Valentine advance and his fist collided with the man's fist while Vladimir brought down the building beside the female monster.

"FIRE!" Valentine hissed

He peeled off the cracked layer over his fist and stared at the man probably in his mid-twenties with contempt. Vines flew toward the enemy and his enemy made rings of fires to slice into them. Valentine's eyes blazed with anger.

Valentine cursed, "You heartless creature!!"

The thorns on the vines shot outward in all directions and the man made a shield of fire. Valentine's eyes searched around and his mind was working overtime on a solution.

"Hi, I'm Ethan. Why don't you surrender? We're not even a good match-up." he smiled

Valentine peeked at elder brother's fight.

The female monster sped past the rock spikes sent by Vladimir and mild irritation was visible in his eyes. Her agility was an annoyance and anything large scale will affect his brother as well. The gears in his brains were doing overtime taking everything in. Several clouds dropped heavy rain causing a landslide to slow down the female monster.

Vladimir blow a sharp whistle as the mud wrapped around the female monster and trapped her within. He began compressing the ball and maintaining its liquid-solid nature.

"DO IT!" He yelled

Valentine was keeping his distance from the fire user sacrificing his flowers with pain in his heart. He smiled sweetly as the remaining flowers released a sweet fragrance into the air, Vladimir made strong winds blow through the city and the ground shook slightly.

Ethan saw citizens running toward him like a stampede. The news reporters informed yelled into their cameras that it was all the non-gifted that were in the city were rushing toward Pioneer Ethan. Vines sprouted out of the ground under Ethan's feet, wrapped around his legs and dragged them down to the ground that his brother softened into liquid tar.

He screamed as the thorns pierced through his skin to keep him rooted into the ground. Everyone watching gasped as a giant falcon dropped down into view with a large basket in it talons. Vladimir hopped its back and called his brother over.

Vladimir looked at the mud ball and the female monster dragging herself out with vengeful gaze directed his way. The flowers slithered into the basket with Valentine leaving only the vines holding Ethan behind. The falcon rose up, the clouds multiplied and filled up the sky hiding the brothers escaped.

"I'm alive." Valentine sighed "Who knew abilities were so hard to use?"

Vladimir agreed, "I guess that way not anyone can be a pioneer."

"I'll beat him next time. I learnt a lot so he'll be sorry for hurting my flowers." Valentine smiled

"Let's head to the underworld area and find something to eat. The Pioneers won't enter that place recklessly and going to the Invader or villains side will invite more problems." Vladimir told

Valentine frowned, "Take me wherever you want as long as there's food."

The falcon released the basket. Valentine quickly grabbed its leg while the other hand held his basket of roses.

"Brother?" he called upward

Vladimir made himself comfortable on its bad and drifted to sleep even though his stomach was aching with hunder.

"VLADIMIR!!" Valentine screamed into the sky

Meanwhile the world was in uproar due appearance of the brothers. The Pioneer Guilds tried to silence the media but it was too late, the broadcast was reposted by an unknown person and spread.

The top ten guilds of the country were having a meeting reviewing the everything about the Silve brothers. Ethan was also present and the also view the female monster retreated with the other invader through the closing rift.

"What happened Ethan?" an elderly man

Ethan spoke, "I say it in his eyes Mr. Creed, if I didn't take that attack it would have been the citizens he'd go after."

"Why?" a woman asked

He answered, "He wanted me to suffer since he couldn't beat me but its hard to say how it would go next time."

Before another question could be asked a voice interrupted, "The brothers are leaning probably gotten their abilities recently but notice how the change from direct attacks to blending in fake ones and working together. After today Ethan with fight a more learned Valentine."

Mr. Creed sighed, "Who are they?"

"I know."

They all looked at a man everyone in the city or continent would know. The leader of the Golden Crown Guild, Gabriel McVon a Pioneer who was in the top ten strongest and husband to another person seated in the meeting Lesia.

"Who are they McVon?" Mr. Creed asked directly

Gabriel looked at his wife with a complicated gaze but his face remained emotionless, "My illegitimate children, I thought they had died but here they are."

"You didn't think it wise to tell me?" Lesia asked with a impassive tone but her eyes hid anger and betrayal

Gabriel answered, "Yes, I didn't think it was necessary to talk about. After all I abandoned them in favor of our marriage "

Lesia held her head high and stared at her husband as though meeting him for the first time. Everyone though she would cry or should about he injustice but she didn't and simply turned to Mr. Creed.

"So what should we do about the situation? Tracking them would be difficult in the sky but we could try or make a national call for them on news channels and social media perhaps convince them to return the power source they took." Lesia spoke

A woman nodded, "Tracking them isn't impossible. I have some Pioneers who can do it and Mr. Creed can do the national call."

The meeting continued without an issue and Gabriel's gaze never left Lesia who was discussing future plans and possible things to be wary of.

"Lesia..." Gabriel began when the meeting ended

Lesia spoke, "I will tell the children about this, no need to trouble yourself. Good work as always Mr. McVon."
