Jessica walked into the pack house with her arms wrapped around herself, telling herself that she was only tired. That was why she had left the training ground. Exhaustion. Not the twisting, green-eyed thing that had clawed at her chest when she watched Kai lean into Alicia. Definitely not that.
She had woken up early in the morning to find a half-naked Alpha sitting in her bedroom, she had been dragged out to a field full of people who could turn into giant wolves, and she had just been punched in the stomach by a queen. Anybody would be tired after all of that.
She followed the sound of small voices down into the big, bright living room, where the long dining table stood by the windows. Angelica was sitting at one end of it with bowls of oatmeal. Tristan and Trisha sat on either side of her, both with their mouths open.
