Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

ARES POV

In my past life, I was always sick, so I rarely went to school, but I got homeschooled by my older sister, who was a teacher.

The only places I went to in that life were my home, the hospital, so the nurse who was tending to me at the time told me about the various places that existed in the world aside from the gloomy atmosphere of the hospital. She told me about the various places she visited, like beautiful beaches, calm towns, busy cities, and serene forests, so I could look forward to something i could do after I got better.

But I never did.

"I hope that she's happy." I mumbled to myself as I leaned on the balcony. She was always kind to me. When I finally asked her why she was so kind to me, she said,

"To be honest, you remind me of my son. He passed away from the same illness two years ago."

"What did she say his name was again? Oh, right, Jang Yujin. I wonder if he got reincarnated as well."

I didn't trust my intuition at all, so I was just fooling around.

The night skies were illuminated gold by the fireworks specially designed for the golden eyed young lady of Luicia.

She was the only and beloved daughter of Duke Luicia who ruled the north. She was the same age as me and was born on the same exact day as me but unlike her, whose birth was being celebrated by the entirety of the north, I was sent here from my own home to work. The two of us are polar opposites. Evelynia [Evelyn-nia] Luicia is said to be kind and mature for her age with silky silver hair and eyes that simmer like gold itself, and she's beloved by almost everyone that meets her. I, on the other hand, was a pink haired asshole who knew every single piece of gossip on this continent and more but pretended to be an innocent little kid in front of others but was a huge jerk. In my defence, I didn't describe those myself. Those were the exact words my worthless childhood friend said as he sent me over here.

I sighed before going back inside the manor. It was almost time for my work, so I needed to change and go.
