When the conversation inside the car finally ended, Ishan, Vikas, and Arya stepped out. They were completely overwhelmed by panic and fear.
They rushed straight into the house, heading toward Myra to give her their excuse for going to the city. Myra was right there in her room.
Upstairs in his room, Ivan sat lost in deep thought.
He thought to himself, "If Amardeep is dead and Uncle Vikas was the one who killed him... then he must think I'm a ghost! But if Uncle Vikas really killed Amardeep, do my Dad and Uncle Arya know about this too?"
He continued thinking, "If Uncle Vikas really killed that boy Amardeep, bringing the truth to light won't be difficult. I can just walk straight up to him and say—'I know everything, you're the one who killed him!'"
He was completely confident that such sudden pressure would cause Vikas to panic and blurt out something that would expose the whole story.
But then it struck him. If he said that, Uncle Vikas would instantly realize he wasn't a ghost, but a living person who knew his secret.
Right then, a wave of caution washed over his mind.
After all, his suspicion could be wrong. But more importantly, Ivan thought, asking such a question would make Uncle Vikas think of killing him first—just to keep his secret buried forever.
Suddenly, a safer and much more brilliant idea sparked in his mind.
He ran downstairs and found the house completely deserted. Looking outside, he saw Vikas's car parked right there.
He sprinted back upstairs and returned with his smartwatch and a roll of heavy-duty tape.
Without making a sound, he moved very carefully toward the car. Going inside, he immediately taped the watch underneath the driver's seat.
He knew that if Arya also knew about Vikas's secret, the moment both of them—Vikas and Arya—drove away from here, they would definitely talk about it.
He had already put the watch on 'silent mode', turned its brightness down to zero, and enabled the 'Auto-Receive' feature for calls.
Just as Ivan slipped back inside the house, he saw Ishan, Vikas, and Arya stepping out.
Vikas looked at Ivan and said, "Ivan, your dad is coming with us to the city too."
Ishan got into his own car, while Vikas and Arya got into theirs. All three of them were heading toward the exact spot where, exactly ten years ago, Ishan had taken a life.
As the cars sped down the road, Ivan sat safely in his room and dialed his smartwatch.
The call connected instantly. Just as he had predicted, Vikas and Arya began talking to each other. One by one, they exposed the truth—how Ishan had killed that boy on that fateful night, the reason behind it, and the terrifying details of that struggle.
Ivan sat paralyzed, his world spinning around him.
Until now, he had been suspecting Vikas, but this live call revealed a terrifying truth: the real killer was his own father, Ishan. He sat in dead silence, listening as the horrifying and complete truth unfolded.
Meanwhile, Ishan was driving right behind them.
They reached the old, dilapidated hut and went inside. It was completely empty. There was no skeleton, not a single trace of any remains. Panic gripped their minds—somebody had taken the body away. But who would steal a dead boy's corpse, and why?
As soon as they stepped out of the hut, Ishan turned his car back toward home, while Vikas and Arya drove off toward the city.
Ishan's mind drifted back to the old memories of a decade ago.
Ten years ago, Ishan was the wealthiest man in his village—a status he still held to this day. Vikas and Arya lived in the city, where Ishan also owned a shopping mall that wasn't all that far from his village.
On that cursed night, after finishing their work in the city, Ishan had brought Vikas and Arya to his house for dinner. At around 10:00 PM, he had finally stepped out to drop them back to the city.
The route from his village to the city passed through miles of dense, endless forests—a completely desolate and pitch-dark road.
Ishan was driving fast when suddenly, right in the middle of the deserted road, a boy appeared out of nowhere.
The boy was screaming at the top of his lungs and waving his hands frantically to stop the car. Ishan slammed on the brakes.
The boy shouted angrily, "Get out! Today I won't let you get away!"
Ishan stepped out of the car with a cold and commanding voice.
"Who the hell are you? What is this nonsense? Don't you care about your life?"
As soon as the boy heard Ishan's voice and saw his face, all his bravado vanished in a split second.
He realized instantly that he had messed with the wrong person. His face turned pale with sheer terror, and he stammered, "I... I am so sorry, sir, this is a mistake. I have a rivalry with someone else, and when I saw your car, I thought you were him."
"A mistake?" Ishan roared, landing a violent slap across the boy's cheek.
He grabbed the boy tightly by his hair, intending to smash his skull straight against the car's bonnet or frame. But the boy fought back fiercely, shoving Ishan so hard that he staggered and crashed down onto the ground.
Blind and terrifying rage consumed Ishan.
He scrambled to his feet, his hand landing on a sharp-edged stone. With a wild roar, he swung the stone with all his might, driving its sharp point straight into the middle of the boy's skull.
The blow was so brutal that the heavy stone sank deep into the bone of the skull.
