Chapter 5 - The First Promise

Days passed, and Aarav found himself returning to the bridge every evening. Each meeting deepened their bond. Words were not enough, so sometimes they simply sat together, the silence saying more than any conversation could.

One evening, Riya pulled a small, delicate notebook from her bag. "I want to make a promise," she said, her voice trembling. "Write it with me."

Aarav raised an eyebrow. "A promise?"

"To remember. To find each other, no matter the distance or time. If something happens… if we are separated, these words will guide us back."

He nodded, his hand brushing hers. The spark was instant, tiny yet undeniable. They wrote together, alternating lines, their fingers occasionally touching, sending shivers up Aarav's spine.

When they finished, they both looked at the notebook. "No matter what," Riya whispered.

"No matter what," Aarav echoed.

That night, as he walked home, he felt a strange pull—like destiny itself had tangled their lives together, binding them across time. He didn't know the challenges ahead, but he was certain of one thing: he would not let her go.
