In the dream, Dorothy sat before her desk, looking at the spell she had written down, and nodded in satisfaction. Although this spell was something cobbled together, Dorothy thought it might work.
What the heck, let's just try it. It's only in a dream, right?
While thinking, Dorothy stood properly in the room, coughed to clear her throat, and then began to chant.
"In the name of Akatosh, I shall grow wings, my strength can soar into the high heavens, my balance can traverse storms."
As Dorothy finished speaking, an anomaly immediately occurred.
Hot orange-yellow gas appeared out of thin air around Dorothy, completely enveloping her body, and in an instant, it turned into a fiercely burning orange-yellow fireball.
From within this fireball, segments of thick, enormous bones appeared, extending out in all directions, quickly filling the entire room, and then bursting it open.
Accompanied by a loud bang, the top of the Nanyang Flower Road apartment building in the dream world completely exploded, scattering large amounts of rubble everywhere.
Then, on the shattered rooftop, a massive skeletal Dragon was currently lying prone. The hot orange-yellow flames extended throughout the skeletal Dragon's entire body, condensing into rough, hard scales, like Stone slabs.
Finally, a Western Dragon nearly ten meters long, with grayish-black scales, strong wings, a spiky long tail, twisted horns, and a fierce, majestic appearance, appeared on top of the apartment building.
Dream Mimicry - Dragon.
'Holy crap! It actually worked!'
Twisting her long neck to observe her new body, Dorothy thought with both surprise and joy that the spell she had cobbled together actually worked!
And she didn't mimic a bird, but instead mimicked a Dragon!
A Dragon is so much more awesome than a bird!
Dorothy thought with some excitement. Next, it was time for her to get down to business. Mimicry was just the first step; after successfully mimicking in her own dream, she could enter the Dream World.
That was the shared dream of all intelligent life forms.
While thinking this, Dorothy raised her head and then let out a roar towards the sky.
After the earth-shattering roar, the space before Dorothy's eyes rippled, finally cracking open like glass, forming a large fissure. Dorothy, in her Dragon form, spread her wings, soared into the air, and plunged into the crack in the dream.
...
This was a dark and vast space.
Gigantic trees, dozens of meters thick and hundreds of meters tall, rose from the ground, layer upon layer, stretching endlessly. Their dense canopies obscured the entire sky, with only wisps of eerie blue Light penetrating down, bringing specks of light to the dark space. Beneath these trees were large expanses of dense blue-purple grassland. Within the continuous grassland, various colored flowers, blue, green, purple... were blooming, dotted throughout. These flowers all emitted a strange-colored Light.
Various creatures were sporadically active in the grassland, including deer, birds, lizards, flying insects... Their appearances seemed no different from normal creatures, except that they glowed faintly and had strange patterns.
On the thick branches of those sky-reaching giant trees, countless large white dream cocoons were densely hung, dangling. These dream cocoons, like the giant trees and grassland, extended to the end of the space, without boundary. They swayed gently in the breeze, scattering countless tiny light spheres like powder, drifting throughout the space.
The scene here was like a dream... No, this *was* a dream.
Suddenly, among the dream cocoons hanging from the giant trees, one began to tremble slightly. Then, a crack broke open on the surface of this dream cocoon, and a trembling roar came from within.
Hearing this roar, all the creatures in the giant tree forest couldn't help but be startled and fled in panic, scattering in all directions. At this moment, the crack on the dream cocoon grew larger and larger, and finally, a grayish-black Dragon flew out from within.
Spreading her wings, Dorothy soared through the giant tree forest, curiously observing the bizarre and dreamlike environment around her, and couldn't help but exclaim in her heart.
'This is the Dream World? More precisely, this is one layer within the Dream World, the Woodland...'
According to the annotations in the dream records, the Dream World has multiple layers, but the most vast among them is the 'Woodland', which is the main body of the Dream World.
The dream records provide a brief introduction to the Dream World, stating that, in essence, the dreams of all intelligent beings are actually within the dream realm. However, these dreams are protected by 'dream cocoons'. After each being falls asleep, they will dream their own dreams within their own dream cocoon.
'So, these things hanging on the trees are dream cocoons?'
Dorothy looked at the white cocoons hanging on the trees. She thought that each of these cocoons was a person's dream, and the dreams of everyone in the world could find their corresponding dream cocoon here. Some Extraordinary, however, could emerge from the dream cocoons through mimicry and roam the more vast Dream World.
If she entered another cocoon, would she enter someone else's dream?
That's kind of interesting... the Dream World...
But now wasn't the time to play; getting down to business was important.
Dorothy came to the Dream World for the secret transmission that might be hidden within it. According to the records in the dream records, countless fragments of information drifted in the Dream World, which might include secret transmission. According to Gray Hill, there were both infinite threats and endless opportunities here.
Thinking this, Dorothy continued to fly forward. Her eyes could clearly see large and small specks of light spheres drifting among the trees.
Dorothy casually flew towards one, and after touching it and dispersing it, the light sphere turned into a halo and attached itself to Dorothy's body.
Subsequently, a piece of information directly appeared in Dorothy's mind.
'I really want to confess to Domia... I really want to confess to Domia... I really want to confess to Domia...'
After reading this piece of information, Dorothy felt a moment of embarrassment, then turned her head and dispersed another light sphere by touching it.
'That bastard William actually dared to treat me like this, he'll get what's coming to him tomorrow!'
Dorothy paused slightly, then turned her head to look and found that the light spheres around her were all drifting out from various dream cocoons. This meant that most of the information within these light spheres were nearly useless dream fragments from ordinary people.
Trying to find a secret transmission in such a vast Woodland seemed like searching for a needle in a haystack.
"Sigh... at least I have a method... I'll take it slow. If I don't find anything tonight, I'll just continue tomorrow night."
Saying this, Dorothy continued to fly through the dark Woodland.
...
Somewhere in the Dream World, the Woodland.
Among the giant tree forest, on the fluorescent shining grassland, an agile figure was galloping forward, quickly shuttling between the grasses.
That was a fox, a Little Fox with snow-white fur, glowing all over, sprinting rapidly through the grassland. Behind her, three or four fierce black hyenas were in close pursuit.
This seemed to be a hunt, a hyena hunting a fox, but in fact, it was not that simple.
While running, one of the hyenas actually spoke, saying in the common language.
"She's starting to lose strength, her speed is dropping. Speed up and chase her, she's tonight's prey..."
"In this Woodland, no one can escape the Black Dream Hunter Group's hunt..."
