Chapter 4 - More Than Friends

Neo didn't care for others.

She ran her hand across Corvo's chest, admiring the hard muscles before tracing some of the definition upwards.

It was how she'd always been. Family, friends, everything in between and beyond. For a long time she'd ignored that, trying her best to simply fit in and be what was expected, discarding what it was she wanted. Though, admittedly having used it to his advantage to get her help when they first met, Roman had helped her realized she didn't need to keep that act up.

These days she did whatever she pleased, enjoying life regardless of what others had to say or want.

Sometimes that meant helping Roman. Sometimes that meant moonlit strolls. And other times that meant killing idiots stupid enough to grab the last of the limited time snacks she was after.

Shifting her satisfyingly aching body, Neo draped one of her legs over his and placed her head against his chest, listening to the steady thump within it.

At first, she was going to kill him for just that. After he got that hit on her, she'd decided right then and there that she wouldn't just kill him but make it as painful as possible.

Then she saw the look in his eyes.

The moment she got a little serious he'd realized how outmatched he was. When his aura shattered, he'd realized it was too late to run. When she drew blood, he'd realized how close death was.

And he didn't show any fear.

No, he'd just been excited, enjoying himself as much as she had been.

It was the first time she'd compared someone else to herself.

Far too interested to just kill him but not entirely convinced she was right, she put off his death to test it.

She'd tried to kill him and he texted her.

She'd tried to kill him and he spent his day with her.

She'd tried to kill him and he followed her right into her apartment.

Neo shifted again fully rolling onto Corvo's chest and crossing her arms, laying her chin on them. He looked down at her.

She liked his eyes. The shinning gatherings of silver were so expressive that it was easy to tell what was going through his head, no words needed. Right now, he was confused, uncertain, maybe even regretful.

But beneath all that stupid stuff was that excitement and desire they both shared in. It was a shame, but he was only at his truest in the middle of a desperate fight. She forced that second battle just to be sure of it.

He was being weighed down by all the traditional beliefs that'd been shoved into his head all his life. Just like she'd been. She couldn't change that. Not yet. But she didn't mind doing away with some of his uncertainty.

Neo raised her hand, bending her fingers to form half a heart. It took him a moment, but he raised his as well, completing the heart.

"So, we're, uh, dating?" He asked, voice just as uncertain as his eyes.

She nodded, raising herself a little to peck his lips before dropping back down, this time nuzzling her head in the crook of his neck.

They were the same.

Though she'd never bothered with anything like this, having only seen videos and even others in the act, she'd never got the point or found anything interesting about it, but she'd decided to give into the vain curiosity he sparked in her about it.

She shouldn't be giving up her virginity to someone she'd known for less than a day. He shouldn't be doing the same with someone who'd tried to kill him. Of course, what others would've had to say was irrelevant.

He was hers. She was his. And they were meant for each other.

"Awesome." He said, one of his hands coming up but stopping just shy of touching her. Smiling up at him, she reached around bringing it around her. It was cute how he could still be so shy especially after that workout he'd put her through after really getting into things. "Does this mean you won't attack me anymore?"

Neo pulled her head back from his neck, tilting it as if actually giving it thought before shaking her head. He deflated a little but, still straying from common sense, he didn't consider that any reason to back out of it.

As a huntsman in training, all of his fighting before crossing paths with her likely included an aura shield. Something he no doubt enjoyed and put most of his free time into by her guess, thinking that he just enjoyed fighting or even the idea of being some kind of hero. Because of that he'd yet to realize what it was about it that he really enjoyed.

She enjoyed easy fights. Taunting her weaker opponents into a rage that slowly drained away, nothing but despair left behind when they realized how things were going to end for them. The pleasure of watching all hope leave them before she killed someone was unmatched.

Maybe unmatched.

She now understood why so many were so desperate to find someone to be with. She wasn't quite sure if it matched up to that quite yet, but she was enjoying laying around with someone she loved.

Corvo, despite being fundamentally like her, was her opposite when it came to fighting. When he was struggling, being pushed to the brink with his life on the line, that when he was his truest, his eyes alight with excitement, all else forgotten as he tried to get as much out of it as he could.

She'd be helping him realize that. Plus, she liked seeing that raw look of enjoyment on his face.

"I do kind of need to go home." He said. "Do you mind if I use your shower?"

Neo paused.

Then pointed at herself, holding up two fingers, then three.

"You're twenty-three? With how short you are…" He trailed off while she quietly exhaled before pointing at him. "I'm eighteen."

Eighteen? Where did that put him on the whole huntsman training ladder again?

Rolling off of him, Neo grabbing her scroll off the end table, brought up a picture of Beacon and showed it, also pointing at him.

"That's a funny story actually. I had two more years at Signal, but the headmaster of Beacon saw a recording of our fight and invited me to the school. I'll be starting there in two weeks." He shared with an excited smile. That hadn't been intentional, but it looked like she'd already helped him get something he wanted.

A fight with someone as strong as a headmaster wasn't something that interested her at all so she wouldn't bring much attention to herself but with her semblance it shouldn't be too hard to get in there whenever she felt like it.

Setting her scroll down, Neo grabbed his hand, pulling him out of bed and towards the hall. What was it like to shower with a boyfriend? She'd probably be trying to find the answer to a lot of different questions like that going forward, finding what she enjoyed and what she didn't.

She glanced behind her, smiling to herself when she found his face red and eyes glued to her body.

Of course, she'd be trying to help him find all the things he enjoyed in life too rather than being restrained by what others told him was right and wrong.

XOXO

Corvo took deep breaths as he looked out at his home.

With how things worked, space was a premium behind kingdom walls so genuine private property that wasn't a small apartment or government regulated business, wasn't something everyone could afford. They owned a small home beyond it way on the small island of Patch but for nearly all his life, they lived in the city, one of the few that could own a house.

It was nothing crazy, just a modest two story building with a fenced front and backyard like every other one on the block. Normally he was always happy to come back.

He adjusted his belt.

It wasn't curfew yet, but it was pretty late. He'd left his coat and jacket back at Neo's on account of all the tears in them, aura having handled the actual cuts already. And, fresh out of a shower that hadn't exactly been child friendly and more importantly hadn't had any of his usual stuff, he definitely smelt different than usual.

Could he actually get to his room without any of that being noticed?

Shaking his head, he looked both ways before crossing the street, pushing open the front gate and turning back to close it behind him. That was step one done. Now he needed to figure out how to get to his room.

"Hello there." Corvo spun around and found himself face to face with his mother. Arms crossed and brow raised she looked him up and down, her brow slowly rising. By the time their identical eyes locked, it was fully raised, clearly everything he was hoping to go unnoticed all standing out like a sore thumb to her. "Do you have something you want to tell me?"

"I, uh, well-" He absolutely couldn't tell her he'd gone to see an infamous criminal who'd tried to kill him. But it'd taken everything just to lie to her earlier in the morning, his gut already beginning to sink at the thought of doing it again. "-I, well, I have a girlfriend?"

No, You idiot! Corvo mentally screamed at himself. Deciding to just resign himself to whatever fate the interrogation that was about to follow would bring, he closed his eyes. At least his day had been one of funniest he had in recent memory.

"Oh, that's it? Here I was worried over nothing."

He looked up. "You're not mad?"

"Corvo, you're eighteen and now you're about to be spending almost all your time at Beacon. I'm not going to get on you about going out with a girl. If anything, it's about time. I was a little worried about how stuck together you and Ruby have been." She trailed off, muttering mostly to herself before refocusing. "I'm going to assume you did a lot more than hang out. Please tell me you at least brought protection?"

His eyes dropped again. "I had Waxing Rose?"

"Corvo! What was the point in all those safe sex talks if you're just going to ignore one of the most important parts of the conversation?" She chided him before sighing. "I hope this girlfriend of yours is a nice girl but either way, we're going to have to get you tested."

Not exactly the kind of conversation he wanted to have with his mom, but it beat out having to tell her who exactly that girlfriend was.

Thankfully she'd drop her voice low enough that no one else could pick up on what they were talking about.

XOXO

(A/N: If it wasn't clear yet, both Neo and the MC are their own brand of psychotic. They and their relationship are in no way meant to come off as normal. Don't stick your dick in crazy and al that but I guess those rules don't apply if you're a little crazy to.

Anyways, won't be as updated as my main story so don't expect that same consistency. Just kick back and enjoy the smut whenever it shows up, which should be pretty frequently. If you complain about this story having more smut than plot I'm going to look at you like you dumbass. I might even be rude for once and call you a dumbass in the comments. This story isn't for you if that's going to be one of your complaints.
