Chapter 14 - chapter 13

Yingcai led Nobunaga and Tajima back to the base, and quickly had the two of them treat their respective Pokémon.

"I estimate that in another hour, Lord Lance and the others will have us carry out the next mission, so seize the time and recover quickly!"

After Yingcai finished speaking, he hurriedly began bandaging Primeape's wounds.

After Tajima saw Yingcai finish speaking and then directly turn around to bandage Primeape, he suddenly showed anger on his face: "Minato is dead, and you don't even mention it. We didn't even bring his corpse back. Are you even our captain!"

When Nobunaga saw Tajima suddenly lose his temper, he was also startled. Then he thought of how the person in the squad with the best relationship with him was Minato, and he also understood why his emotions were out of control.

"As your captain, my mission is to keep you alive. Now that Minato is dead, do you think I'm not sad too? But we're about to carry out the next mission. If you don't hurry up and get your Pokémon recovered, I'm afraid the next one to die will be you!"

Yingcai also said impulsively to Tajima.

Tajima stopped talking as well, only silently releasing Ekans and Zubat to treat their injuries.

Seeing this, Nobunaga couldn't say much either. He only sprayed several Pokémon with healing spray, then took out food and let them eat their fill, and then leaned against the wall to rest.

Thinking of Minato's death appearance, Nobunaga's heart also tightened. He hadn't expected people to be so fragile; someone he saw every day would never be seen again in the future.

"I definitely won't die that easily!" Nobunaga silently encouraged himself in his heart.

Koffing, Ekans, Golbat, Grimer—looking at the four little Pokémon that belonged to him.

"Yes, with them here, I definitely won't die!"

As Team Rocket grunts returned to the base one after another, Nobunaga saw the two, Shitomen and Iwa, who were completely unscathed, and he also let out a sigh of relief in his heart.

An hour of time quickly passed.

The big broadcast in the square suddenly sounded with General Lance's voice:

"You must be very puzzled why a mission that was originally sealed off for a week suddenly had you retreat, right!"

"Actually, three days is enough for Dr. Nanba to install the Pokémon Rage Device. Next, we're going to take advantage of the League suppressing the Pokémon riot at Mt. Moon to attack Pewter City!"

As General Lance's words fell, an uproar broke out in the square.

Nobunaga also hadn't expected Team Rocket's guts to be this big, preparing to directly attack Pewter City.

He glanced at Yingcai, but discovered that his face was very calm, as if he had known about this long ago.

General Lance continued:

"Squadron One attacks the Pokémon Center, Squadron Two attacks the Pewter City Gym, Squadron Three attacks the police station. I will personally take action to deal with the Pewter City Gym Trainer. Do you all understand?"

Everyone below responded in unison, "Understood!"

"Then begin the operation."

Everyone immediately led their little Pokémon and advanced toward Pewter City.

On the road, Nobunaga asked Yingcai: "Captain, did you already know that the higher-ups were going to attack Pewter City?"

Yingcai turned back to look at Nobunaga, then looked at Tajima, and said: "I'm just a small squad captain. I don't know the decisions of the higher-ups."

After saying that, he turned his head back.

Although Nobunaga didn't believe it, he couldn't question him. Besides, even if Yingcai knew, so what. And in daily life the captain took very good care of him, so he stopped speaking.

Very quickly, the main force arrived at the edge of Pewter City.

"All personnel, launch the attack according to the mission objectives!"

After the words fell, Team Rocket's members split into three routes and launched the attack.

Under Yingcai's lead, Nobunaga and the others followed the crowd and began attacking the Pokémon Center.

Seeing Team Rocket coming menacingly, the Joy at the central console hurriedly turned on the defense system.

The entire Pokémon Center was immediately covered by layers of pitch-black steel plates.

Seeing this, Team Rocket's people hurriedly had Pokémon use various high-power moves at the main gate.

The iron gate was quickly blasted open. Team Rocket's grunts filed in, and after entering they began to sweep through the place.

The three of Nobunaga had been in the middle of the crowd the whole time, seeing everyone bringing Pokémon, attacking while also sweeping up the spoils.

Yingcai said to the two: "You two, come with me."

After saying that, he walked toward a passage on the right side of the Pokémon Center.

Passing through the passage, after a series of left turns and right turns, Yingcai finally stopped his steps.

"This is the storeroom of the small Pokémon Center. Take as much as you can." After saying that, he began selecting things.

After Nobunaga and Tajima heard Yingcai's words, they also hurriedly stuffed the things they liked into their own bags.

Especially those Pokémon cultivation resources—after Nobunaga filled his backpack, he took out several more bags and packed them up.

"Why was the Pokémon Center so easily broken into by us? It feels like we didn't suffer any decent resistance?" Nobunaga asked Yingcai.

Yingcai replied: "Who knows, the Pokémon Center actually didn't have many Trainers. Maybe they were all gathered at Mt. Moon to suppress the Pokémon riot."

The three packed their bundles full, and then went to the management office of the Pokémon Center. After they got there, they saw that the management office had already been controlled by other squads, so they wandered around the Pokémon Center.

Nobunaga walked to the dormitory area and found that there were only a few Team Rocket grunts chatting idly here, so he wandered around the dorms inside on his own.

Walking into one of the rooms, he saw a purple suitcase half a person tall placed under the bed. He was a bit curious, so he took it out.

Inside, besides some clothes, there was also a black notebook two fingers thick. He opened the notebook and took a look; on it was written in big characters: "Poison-type Pokémon and Applications." Nobunaga hurriedly closed the notebook and put it into his close-fitting backpack.

He turned his head and looked again, seeing that no one had noticed. Pretending nothing had happened, he went to regroup with the squad.

Could Team Rocket really take Pewter City so easily?

Behind this matter, was there also some earth-shaking, huge conspiracy?
