As Michael arrived home, Edward intercepted him at the entrance. Michael handed his briefcase to Simon, who had recently been promoted to the position of chief butler.
'What did you do?' Edward spat out aggressively.
'Oh, you've heard the news. I'm glad you did,' Michael responded, acting as though his actions were justified. His face was filled with pride, indicating that he had no intention of backing down unless Jessica apologised to Chioma.
'Why did you target my friend's company? What kind of hatred do you hold against Jessica to make you do this?' Edward's face burned with anger.
Michael raised his head, his beautiful face now cold and emotionless. 'Dad, I did what I had to do. I promise you this: if Jessica doesn't apologise to Chioma, I will forcefully acquire their company at a significantly reduced price within a week. This will undoubtedly push the Nnaji family into debts of hundreds of millions or even billions of naira. I will also ensure that Emmanuel Nnaji is impeached... I have no issue with anyone, only with those who cross the line.'
'You speak to me as if I'm not the chairman of Moon Corporation,' Edward fumed.
'I could never hurt you,' Michael stated firmly.
'But by targeting Emmanuel's business, you have hurt me,' Edward replied, disappointment evident in his voice.
