It didn't take long for the news to spread about the appearance of a dragon in Tulan.
But when the people walked past Zuleika's hut to maybe catch sight of the massive animal, they saw nothing.
Was it real? Or just some cooked up rumour?
Nyssa, on the other hand, chuckled at their obliviousness. Amarys only appeared when she was summoned. She wasn't a pet she would carry around or tie somewhere around.
That night, she sat with Leilani in the kitchen.
"I knew I had a connection with the dragon. I just didn't know…I would be able to handle it."
Leilani stared at her and then asked, "Do you believe there's a reason for everything?"
Nyssa looked at her, as they sat down washing used cups.
"Yeah…why?"
Leilani sniffed, looking away, "There must be a reason why the moon gave itself to you. Maybe…the fall of your Kingdom was predestined?"
Nyssa blinked, as the words settled in her mind. Then she looked away, not saying anything. Leilani watched her silently.
"Are…you okay?"
