Chapter 7 - Treasure Chest?!

"What?" Fatty was surprised by the serious question of Anirudh.

"The weapon. Look, everyone has one! Where do I get one? A sword, sabre, dagger, wind fan, anything? Don't tell me you don't know how to get weapons in this game," Anirudh asked again eagerly.

Fatty breathed loudly before replying, "It's not that easy. We must first become a third-class Magus. After that, the temple elders will accept us into their factions. Based on the faction you join, you will get a weapon of your choice. For example, if you join the Alchemy Division, you will usually get wands and alchemy equipment, but if you join the Temple Protection Division, you will get swords, sabres, and better weapons and also heal others with your spells."

Anirudh felt disappointed after hearing his answer.

"Is there any other way? Can I get a weapon without reaching third-class Magus? Because I need it now."

Fatty thought for a long time before saying, "No, it's almost impossible. Either you can get one from the elders or you have to buy one. Buying a weapon is very hard as you need a large amount of karma points to purchase any weapon from the Sky Angel, but we only get one karma point for visiting the War God Temple. Also, who else will spend karma points on weapons when you can exchange them for real-world money?"

"Oh, you can buy weapons with karma points, haha. That's good," Anirudh said as he walked toward the northern direction where the spirit fox was already ready to jump forward.

"Wait, where are you going?" Fatty cried out from behind with a puzzled look.

But Anirudh was almost rushing forward without looking back. The fatty was confused for a second whether to follow him or not, but after a quick thought he immediately dragged his fat body behind Anirudh.

"Master, that fat fellow is following us. What should we do?" the fox asked.

"We're running forward. Don't worry. It seems like he is not that greedy fellow. He even came to find me to offer that one spirit stone. In any case, he is not stronger than me in combat. It is also an opportunity for me to check his loyalty," Anirudh said while increasing his walking pace.

"Young Master, it seems like you are going to complete some task. Can you tell me the details? I will definitely help you."

The fatty asked politely while trying to walk at a steady pace along with Anirudh.

"You will know it soon," Anirudh replied without even looking.

"I really wonder why you joined the game one month late with your pro-level gaming skill. You could have already been in the top-table positions," Fatty asked with a doubtful look.

"I was getting tortured in hell and was just released a few days back. That's why I'm late," Anirudh replied honestly without hiding any details from the fatty.

The fatty was shocked for a second and then began laughing loudly.

"Young Master, you are really funny. Seems like you are a person who suffered through army training. By the way, my name is Kevin. People call me Fatty Kevin. Don't worry, I won't mind even if you call me fat," the fat fellow replied with a cheeky smile.

"You also stop calling me Young Master. My name is King Anirudh. By the way, why are you one month late with your knowledge? You could also earn better inside the game," Anirudh asked.

"Oh, my family is very poor and I didn't have the funds to purchase the gaming helmet. Yesterday my father, for an unknown reason, sold his car and bought two gaming helmets, one for me and one for himself. But sadly he went to the Ice Goddess Temple while I reached this War God Temple," Fatty replied with a disappointed look.

Just as Anirudh was wondering how the Ice Goddess Temple would look, they reached a large farming area with lush green trees, different types of fruits, and grass. Strangely, there were countless people present on the farm.

"Young Master, why did you come here? Don't tell me you are also going to farm crabs like all these losers."

Anirudh also never expected to encounter so many players in this area. It was very crowded, like a music concert, and almost every one of them was looking for small creatures and killing them. Most of them were crabs.

"Young Master, even though crab hunting is a good way to earn money, we should focus more on improving our cultivation with better ideas. Otherwise, we will be like everyone else inside the game, like slaves who work for organizations for salaries."

"Will they get karma points by hunting these crabs?" Anirudh asked with a questioning look while observing the hunting pattern of the players in the distance.

"No, Young Master. Karma points are not that easy to earn. They are farming Beast Beads. After killing a crab, you will get one small beast bead the size of a small marble. They exchange hundreds of them for just one Spirit Stone. Usually large gaming organizations use these people to gather a large number of Spirit Stones and help their pro players advance further inside the game. I hope you are not one of the crab farmers," Fatty replied with an examining look.

Anirudh shook his head in disappointment after realizing what was happening before him.

"Humans are really slaves even after all this modern development."

In the next second, he commanded the fox and moved into the farm toward the northern direction. The fox was moving like an invisible guide even inside the zigzag trees of the farm. While pushing past players who were hunting crabs, both Anirudh and Fatty moved forward.

As they went deeper into the farm area, the number of players began reducing with the distance, and the size and ability of the crabs were increasing.

After reaching halfway, some of the crabs even tried to attack them directly while Fatty struggled to get away from them. Mohan easily stepped on their shells to jump forward and move at running speed.

Fatty also tried to mimic the running style of Anirudh, but whenever he stepped on the shell of a crab, it broke into pieces the next second and a beast bead appeared in his storage.

"Seems like this is not bad," Fatty muttered to himself and crushed the crabs with his legs with all his might, propelling himself forward to follow Anirudh.

As they moved deeper, large-sized rare-rank crabs began bothering them. Just then the spirit fox made herself visible and used its ability of nine tails. As the nine tails moved like spider legs, all the crabs were pushed aside, creating a perfect walking path for them.

"Wait! The nine-tailed fox?! The Epic-rank pet…!!!"

Fatty was stunned for a second as he remembered the Sky Angel announcement.
