The first had been small and recently arrived. The second had been larger with a more extensive distortion field. The third had been between them in scale. This fourth one had not produced a distortion field in the same outward sense. Instead the incompatibility it carried was affecting the Law-matter differently, not thinning or disrupting the surface expression of the medium but altering something in the deeper conducting structure of the Law-matter itself.
