The next day, beside the ruins of Papaya Island.
Although the arena had been completely destroyed, the organizers of the World Martial Arts Tournament had set up a temporary farewell area nearby.
Most of the crowd had already left.
Only the main participants of yesterday's earth-shaking battle remained.
Goku was squatting on a large rock, holding an entire roasted sheep he had somehow acquired and devouring it with enthusiasm.
His mouth was covered in grease.
Beside him stood Chi-Chi, holding a small bundle and watching her gluttonous husband with a mixture of happiness and worry.
"Goku, slow down. You'll choke," She wiped his mouth with a handkerchief as naturally as if she had been doing this for years.
"Once we return to Mount Paozu, we can't eat like this every day. Even though Father gave us a good dowry, it won't last if you keep eating like this."
Chi-Chi sighed softly.
Despite being the daughter of the Ox-King, she understood the value of money and daily necessities.
Goku's appetite was like a bottomless pit.
She was already calculating how many fields she would need to farm and how many radishes she would need to grow to support their household.
"Hm? It's fine, Chi-Chi!" Goku swallowed a massive chunk of meat and laughed.
"I can hunt! There are lots of giant fish and dinosaurs in the mountains!"
"No!" Chi-Chi's expression instantly hardened.
"Now that we're married, we have to live a stable life! What kind of example is it to be fighting and killing all the time?
You need to learn farming and become a responsible husband!"
Goku scratched his head, completely confused, "Farming? Is that some kind of training?"
At that moment, the air suddenly rippled.
"Swoosh!"
Krillin and Bulma appeared out of thin air in front of them.
After a night of rest, Bulma looked radiant. Her skin seemed to glow with vitality.
She wore fresh denim shorts and a small top, holding tightly onto Krillin's arm with the sweet expression of someone deeply in love.
Krillin wore casual clothes, his bald head shining under the sunlight.
"Yo! Goku, Chi-Chi! Getting ready to head home?"
"Ah! Krillin!" Goku jumped down from the rock and ran excitedly around him.
"That Instant Transmission of yours is amazing! Can you teach it to me? Then I could teleport into the forest to catch tigers to eat!"
"We'll talk about that later if there's time," Krillin laughed and patted Goku's shoulder before turning to Chi-Chi.
He naturally knew exactly what she was worried about.
In the original story, Goku's family lived rather poorly.
The strongest warrior on Earth ended up relying on Chi-Chi growing radishes, and Goku was even forced to get a driver's license and work ordinary jobs.
Because of that, Gohan's training and development were affected.
Now that Krillin had transmigrated—and had essentially become the son-in-law of the richest family in the world—there was no way he would allow that to happen again.
"Chi-Chi, I heard you're planning to settle down at Mount Paozu?"
"Yes, Krillin," Chi-Chi nodded politely.
"It's peaceful there. A good place to live."
"Living peacefully is good," Krillin said, "but living also requires money."
He flipped his wrist.
A golden capsule appeared in his palm.
"Take this," Krillin tossed the capsule toward Chi-Chi.
She caught it reflexively, "What is this?"
"A wedding gift," Krillin spoke casually.
"Nothing special inside. Just fifty thousand kilograms of gold, some modern home appliances from West City, and a Capsule Corporation black card.
It will automatically receive one hundred million Zeni every month for living expenses."
Clang!
Chi-Chi dropped the bundle she had been holding.
Her jaw nearly hit the ground.
"Fifty... fifty thousand kilograms of gold?!"
Her voice trembled.
"And one hundred million Zeni every month?!"
Even Yamcha and Tien Shinhan, who had been nearby picking their teeth, froze in shock.
Fifty thousand kilograms of gold?
How much money was that?
Did this bald guy rob the world treasury?
"Krillin... this is too valuable! We can't accept it!"
Although Chi-Chi loved money for supporting her family, she still had principles and quickly tried to return the capsule.
"Keep it," Krillin gently pushed her hand back.
"This isn't free. There's a mission."
"A mission?" Chi-Chi blinked in confusion.
Krillin leaned slightly closer to Goku and Chi-Chi.
"This guy is a martial arts addict. Making him worry about earning money is a waste of talent. This money will allow him to train without worrying about survival."
Krillin glanced at Goku, then briefly looked at Chi-Chi's stomach with a mysterious smile.
"I also have another very important mission for you two."
"What mission?" Goku asked excitedly. "Do we have to fight villains?"
"It's more important than that," Krillin patted Goku's chest.
"When you go back home, you two need to work hard on... making people."
"Making people?" Goku tilted his head.
"You mean like shaping them out of clay?"
"Oh, you idiot!" Chi-Chi instantly understood and turned bright red, stomping on Goku's foot.
Krillin tried hard not to laugh, "Listen carefully, Goku. Your bloodline is very special. The child you and Chi-Chi have will possess potential even greater than yours.
The future peace of Earth may depend on that child."
Krillin raised a finger, "So when you return home, don't just focus on eating. Practice your husband-and-wife relationship.
Try to let me hold a nephew by this time next year. This is a top-secret mission of the Turtle School."
Although Goku didn't fully understand, hearing phrases like stronger than me and training made him nod immediately.
"I don't really get it, but if it makes me stronger, I'll work hard!"
"That's the spirit," Krillin nodded with satisfaction.
As long as Gohan was born earlier—or if a few more Saiyan hybrids appeared—he wouldn't need to risk his life fighting Saiyans or Frieza in the future.
He could just stay comfortably behind the scenes and let Gohan handle things.
"Brother Krillin!" Chi-Chi's eyes filled with tears.
Giving them money and encouraging Goku to build a family—this was the best brother Goku could possibly have.
"When you visit Mount Paozu in the future, I'll cook the biggest feast for you!" Chi-Chi promised seriously.
"Haha, I'll look forward to it."
After seeing off the cheerful couple, Krillin said goodbye to Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu.
Tien Shinhan looked at Krillin with complicated emotions.
Finally he only said one sentence.
"I will catch up to you."
Then he flew away with Chiaotzu.
Yamcha, looking somewhat lonely, said he would search for a new path in martial arts.
(In reality, he needed time to heal his broken heart.)
Soon, the ruins became quiet again.
Only three figures remained.
Krillin.
Bulma.
And the hunched old man wearing sunglasses and carrying a turtle shell on his back.
