Chapter 3 - 3

Breathe, take a deep breath, and try not to let this overwhelming anger take over. It was close, but he barely managed to get a handle on this near-endless anger.

The old janitor irritated him, Tanaka pissed him off; this anger... this anger defied categorization. He had a seal on him. A fucking seal that even Fate herself saw as something vile. Anger bloomed in his chest, and once more, he felt like burning down the school around him.

Deep breath.

That deep cold that had a vise grip on his very being was the seal. That much he could put together. That cold was unnatural, and it nearly killed him when his inner flame swelled. Tsuna had thought that the reason he felt so good lately was because of the Hanma trait. That his body was well above what it was before, and that made him feel better.

But no, that was not the case. This clear-headed rationality, the sheer brightness of the world around him, all of this was not a gift from the Gacha... THIS WAS HOW THE FUCKING WORLD WAS SUPPOSED TO BE!!!

No wonder he was clumsy, no wonder his brain felt like mush, no wonder he slept like he was fucking dead. HIS VERY BEING WAS SUPPRESSED AND CRIPPLED.

He had long since crossed the line between anger and full-on fucking WRATH. But he could not let that emotion overwhelm him. Letting that anger burn would not help him; it would not change what happened. The only person this anger would hurt was him.

So he had to hold back this never-ending current of wrath if only because he did not have an appropriate target to unload on. For there is a fucking target to all of this.

Because a seal implied that someone put it on him in the first place. Meaning someone knew that they were crippling a child, and they did so without even a second thought. Was that thought paranoid?

Maybe, but the clues pointed to that. It was not just the seal placed on him but the fact that he held a bounty on his head. Meaning he had a lot more attention focused on him than he thought possible.

People don't put bounties on crippled losers; no, bounties are for those important or valuable. None of which applied to Tsuna before. The world was not as simple as he thought it was, and he was far more important than he believed possible.

Tsuna slunk over his desk with his head down; he did not want the rest of the world to see the anger that was bleeding off of him in this moment. He did not want to worry Hana or Kyoko with his rampant feelings. That would just cause them needless worry, and the very last thing Tsuna wanted was to be a burden on those close to his heart.

Tsuna almost let out a full belly laugh at that. He was not that close with the two girls; they did not really know Tsuna. They just cared when no one else did... that small act made them something vital to him.

It was kind of creepy being so attached to people like this, but this was who Tsuna was.

"Class is going to start, Fluffy," Hana added lightly from her own seat. Tsuna shuddered at being talked to right now, but the soft warning melted the boiling anger building in him.

Despite his best effort, he could not truly hold onto this rage, but some small words of care eased his mind beyond anything else. He was not sure if that made him a joke or if this was something so precious that it was worth fighting for.

Tsuna raised his head and took another breath that did not feel quite as confining.

"Thanks, Kurokawa-san," Tsuna offered a slightly brittle smile. Hana looked over at him with a frown.

Again, dissatisfaction over distance. Tsuna almost frowned in return. What did that even mean? He was not being distant, but Hana appeared to be thinking he was.

He knew what she was feeling, but he had no idea how that related to him... strange, but Tsuna never thought he was an expert in the minds of girls.

"Don't mention it. I know you need the sleep, but if you missed a lecture, you would be beating yourself up all day," she offered lightly and smiled at him before turning back toward the board, the teasing vibe she had melting as she started to go into serious mode.

Tsuna felt his heart throb and a strong sting in his eyes, but he held it back with a soft smile. Someone noticed his efforts; she did not make a big deal about it, but she saw what he usually did and approved of it. She did not think his actions were worthless and that he was hopeless for still trying.

That sentiment settled the never-ending anger completely, and Tsuna was able to breathe easy again. Tsuna looked back at the board and took his books out to take notes for the day.

For the first time, he was able to track what was going on, writing down the various topics being taught. A lot of the knowledge being given to him required building blocks that escaped him for the moment, but he made notes on those topics and planned on searching for those building blocks later.

Asking his teachers about these building blocks was possible, but he did not want to. A lot of the staff looked down on him and took part in verbally beating Tsuna down. He knew that he was a hopeless case before, but their actions still left a bitter taste in his mind. So he did his best to avoid interacting with the teaching staff.

He was tempted to go to Hana or Kyoko for those building blocks, but they had plenty on their plates. He was not going to add to their worries. He should still have his previous textbooks; it might take longer to reach a good place without help, but he was sure he could do so now.

He closed his book and put away his things for the day when class was over. He looked over at Kyoko, who was surrounded by friends, and Hana, who was beside her with a smirk on her face. He was tempted to say goodbye to them, but they seemed busy, so he left the classroom.

Already planning on going home and digging up his old workbooks. As he turned a corner, he dodged out of the way of a hand that tried to drag him into an empty classroom.

He blinked and looked over at the person who tried to drag him over. The sight of Tanaka brought a frown to his face, and anger started to burn underneath his skin. Tanaka held a snarl and made another attempt to drag him into the classroom.

Tsuna could have dodged again and just gone home, but he needed an outlet to get rid of some of this anger, and Tanaka seemed to be volunteering. So Tsuna dodged and walked into the empty classroom on his own.

Tsuna's actions seemed to confuse Tanaka massively as he looked over at Tsuna with a blank expression. Tsuna rolled his eyes at the idiot.

"What do you want, Tanaka-san?" Tsuna asked bluntly, placing his bag on a nearby desk so it did not interfere with his movements.

"Wow, you grow a little, and suddenly you think you're hot shit!? Well, guess what? You're not! You're still the worthless loser you always were," Tanaka snarled out with a glare on his face. Tsuna rolled his eyes and stared blankly at Tanaka.

"I don't have time for this, Tanaka-san. So let me repeat myself for the final time: What do you want?" Tsuna asked dully. If Tanaka just wanted to beat him up, Tsuna would have already started throwing punches back, but the idiot was clearly here to say something.

Tsuna's indifference seemed to rub Tanaka in exactly the wrong way as another snarl escaped his lips. There was a tense moment as Tsuna waited for the moron to get started already.

Tanaka eventually gave up on growling at him like a rabid dog.

"Stay away from Kyoko-chan. She does not need trash like you getting close to her," Tanaka spat out and went to leave. Tsuna stared at the idiot and actually laughed out loud.

This dumb fucker honestly thought Tsuna would follow along with his wishes just because he put up a scary front. That would be right with the previous Tsuna, but that Tsuna was a cripple. The game had changed.

Tanaka spun back with a snarl already on his lips at the sheer audacity of Tsuna not caving in to his demands immediately.

"No," Tsuna cut in before the moron could say more dumb shit. Again, Tanaka looked like he could not comprehend the simple fact that Tsuna was defying him. It was an amusing sight.

That seemed to be the final straw as Tanaka gave up on talking and threw a punch at Tsuna's face. Tsuna let out a snort and ducked underneath his punch and kicked Tanaka full force in the stomach.

Tsuna's kick knocked Tanaka back, and he fell over a desk that was behind him, gliding over the smooth surface and hitting the ground in a large crash. Tanaka let out a loud groan and tried to stand up, but Tsuna was already moving.

He was by Tanaka's side and slammed his foot directly on his chest, forcing the moron back onto the ground. Tanaka let out a snarl and grabbed at Tsuna's foot, trying to dislodge the foot with all of his mediocre strength, but Tsuna was a different beast now.

So Tsuna's foot did not budge an inch. In fact, Tsuna put more force on keeping Tanaka pinned. The ribs beneath his foot started to creak as pressure was put on them, causing Tanaka to let out another pained groan.

Tanaka glared up at him, but Tsuna could see past the mask of anger and see the wounded fear underneath it. Tsuna rolled his eyes at the moron and stared at him blankly.

"You don't get to tell me shit, not anymore," Tsuna spoke out bluntly, and Tanaka went to say something, but Tsuna stomped down, causing him to wheeze.

"Look, I don't care what your damage is, but leave me alone from now on. If you don't, you are going to find out exactly how much I am holding back, and trust me, that's not going to end up with bruises," Tsuna spoke out coldly, finally letting out a hint of the wrath he was feeling all day.

Tanaka froze as the molten gaze locked onto him; the idiot shrank away from the intensity, and it was clear that Tsuna's point had been established.

[Feat Achieved! Beat your first mook!]

[Received one Bronze Ticket.]

Tsuna let out a snort. Tanaka did not even deserve a note in the Chaos Gacha; this freaking idiot really was just a mook. Tsuna picked up the ticket that appeared and left the classroom with Tanaka groaning on the ground.

He made his way home, resisting the urge to tear the ticket he just got. Once he was in the safety of his own home, he could roll the Gacha again. He did not live very far from school, so he was able to get home quickly.

"I'm home, Kaa-san!" Tsuna shouted cheerfully, not having to fake emotions like this anymore.

"Welcome back, Tsu-kun," Kaa-san shouted back from the kitchen as she went back to cooking, singing a happy tune as she did so. Tsuna let out a smile and headed toward his room.

As soon as he got some privacy, he ripped the ticket.

[Perfumer]

|Common Trait|

You smell nice; that's about it. You have no distinct scent; you smell like what the person who's smelling you likes.

Tsuna blinked at that. He knew that most Gachas had trash prizes, but everything he got from the Gacha so far had been awesome. From a body like no other to a magical coin. So his expectations for the Gacha had been pretty high.

Tsuna let out a laugh and calmed himself. This was fine; what he had already was amazing. There was no need to be upset about luck not smiling on him this time. Not that this trait was completely worthless; smelling great to everyone was not a complete waste. In fact, it would make getting along with others easier.

He then looked around his room and frowned. His room was a mess, with trash slung around and clothes piled up. He was comfortable with it before, but he was not going to wallow in this for another day. So he started to clean up and pack away things, making sure to place the books he was looking for on the side so he could look them over later.

By the time he finished cleaning, it was dinnertime, so he went down to eat with Kaa-san. As always, she set out a large feast and was sitting down with a happy smile on her face.

Her eyes lit up as she saw Tsuna coming down to eat.

"Tsuna, great news! I got you a tutor!" Kaa-san announced brightly, her eyes sparkling.

Tsuna blinked at that. He never expected Kaa-san would hire him a tutor. If he were like before, he would try to shrug off the tutor with various excuses, but he wanted to learn. So this tutor actually managed to arrive right on time.
