~Grace~
I awake to the warmth, the softness beneath me far better than anything I have known in years.
I finally get a chance at having a wolf guardian and I wasn't stupid enough, thankfully, to wish to hear. If there's anything I wanted most, it's to be heard and to be able to speak.
However, when I throw my mouth open to make a sound, nothing comes forth. Freye raises a brow at me and smirks.
Was she just playing with me in my dreams?
I doubt that she would.
There is a faint sound—a rhythmic shuffling that makes me blink away the last remnants of sleep.
Bruno is already awake.
When I dare to glance in his direction, all I can see at first is his tall frame against the faint glow of early dawn. The dim light filters through the heavy curtains, casting his form in shadow. For a moment, I think he is simply standing there, but as my eyes adjust, I notice the fluid, controlled movement of his body.
He is working out.
