Sela's foot whistled through empty air.
"Missed," a voice chirped from somewhere above her.
Sela growled, rubbing her stinging eyes. Her vision was still a mess of purple splotches. "You're a sneaky little brat, you know that?"
"It's part of the job description," Robin replied.
Sela caught a flash of red in her periphery and swung a back-fist. Robin ducked under it, his movement fluid and practiced. He didn't try to trade punches; instead, he tapped a sequence on his wrist gauntlet.
Suddenly, the steel girder beneath Sela's feet began to hum.
CLANG.
A set of magnetic high-tension cables shot out from a hidden trap on the beam, wrapping around her waist and arms. The force of the magnets pulled her hard against the steel.
"Seriously?" Sela barked, tugging at the wires. They were strong, but she could feel the metal groaning under her strength. "Wires? You Gothams really love your hardware."
"It's called tactical restraint," Robin said, landing on a crane arm a few feet away. He pulled a set of heavy-duty cuffs from his belt. "You've got a lot of raw power, but your technique is messy. You're wide open every time you swing."
Sela stopped struggling and looked at him, a slow, dangerous grin spreading across her face. "Wide open, huh? Thanks for the tip."
She didn't pull away. Instead, she sucked in a deep breath and let her Ki explode. The white aura flared, the sheer pressure shattering the magnetic locks and snapping the cables like string.
The shockwave sent a cloud of construction dust billowing into the air.
"My turn," Sela said.
She disappeared.
Robin's eyes widened. He barely had time to bring his arms up in a cross-block before Sela reappeared in front of him.
BOOM.
She delivered a Renewal knee strike right to his guard. Robin was sent skidding back across the crane arm, his boots throwing sparks against the metal as he fought to stay on the structure.
"Whoa," he exhaled, shaking out his numb arms. "Okay. Definitely not a normal meta."
"Finally!" Sela laughed, her tail thumping excitedly against the girder. "You're actually still standing! Most people go 'pop' after one of those."
She crouched, ready to launch again, but a deep, low rumble from the sky made her pause. A massive, bat-shaped shadow swept over the construction site, cutting through the Gotham fog.
Sela looked up, her eyes widening. "Wait... is that a plane? No, that's way too small for a plane."
"That," Robin said, standing up and wiping dust from his tunic, "is the part where you should probably start running."
