"Ah... changing to Whole Cake Island? I understand."
On the Thousand Sunny, Luffy put down the transponder snail. "Buggy and the others have already set off. They want us to meet up at Whole Cake Island."
Inside the cabin, besides the members of the Straw Hat Pirates, there were also the two pirate Captains, Law and Kid.
"Tch, is this any way to ask for help?" The kid said. "They didn't even wait for us."
If it weren't for the title of Four Emperors, he would have wanted to leave right away and see what kind of expression Clown Buggy would have then.
"Actually, Buggy only invited Luffy and just happened to mention you," Law, who was nearby, said. "You're the one who wanted to come."
"I'm not here to help him; I just want to compete for the title of Four Emperors. If Clown Buggy ends up at a disadvantage, I won't be polite either!"
Kid grinned savagely. "Whether it's Blackbeard or Buggy, it doesn't matter which of the Four Emperors falls..."
Law didn't understand why Kid was so obsessed with the title of Four Emperors. The key issue was that his raw strength wasn't enough; even if he became one of the Four Emperors, so what?
"Didn't you say you were going to challenge Clown Buggy back then? What happened after that?" Law asked.
When they contacted Kid, his ship was already far away from Wano Country.
"Are you trying to pick a fight, you bastard?" The kid felt a bit embarrassed and angry.
He was very glad he had the good habit of subscribing to newspapers and had spent 200 Berries to buy the most valuable newspaper in history.
Although he felt his own strength was not inferior to Clown Buggy's, the strength of his crew could not compare to that of the monsters in the Buggy Pirates.
"Let me give you a word of advice, Eustass-ya, our strength isn't enough to bear the title of Four Emperors yet. Even if we attained it, it would just be a joke."
Law leaned against the cabin wall and said calmly, "Think about your crew. They might end up losing their lives for the sake of your ambition."
"We're all Supernovas from the same generation. Why is it okay for this guy, but not for me?" The kid said, pointing at Luffy.
Law sighed. To tell the truth would be a bit hurtful, Eustass-ya... Setting aside the gap in strength, just seeing that straw hat on Luffy's head should make you understand.
When that guy goes to challenge Red Hair Shanks, at least he won't get an arm ripped off... "Hey, what's with that look? The fact that the two of us could defeat Charlotte Linlin proves that the Four Emperors are just like that." Kid was a bit annoyed by Law's gaze.
"Then you'd better prepare more explosives," Law said, "and find another one of the Four Emperors who isn't very bright."
Their eyes involuntarily drifted toward Luffy... "What are you looking at me for? A title like Four Emperors isn't that interesting. My goal is to be the Pirate King." Luffy's words dealt another blow to Kid's heart.
The thing he was desperately pursuing was something others didn't even care for.
He really wanted to blast Luffy with a Railgun.
But thinking about this guy's strength, he decided against it.
"Nami, can we still make it? Buggy said if we're too slow, they won't wait for us," Luffy asked.
Usopp's eyes suddenly lit up.
Nami spread out a sea chart. "At our current speed, it's impossible, unless we let the Thousand Sunny go at full speed..."
"Then Jinbe, go take the helm, and Franky, go speed us up. We must catch up! I want to take down Blackbeard too," Luffy said.
He looked at Kid and Law. "Are you two still coming along?"
"Of course. Wait a second, I'll call Killer over," Kid said quickly.
The other crew members wouldn't be able to help anyway.
"I'll give Bepo and the others instructions to proceed slowly while I follow you to Whole Cake Island," Law said.
"But why would Blackbeard be at Whole Cake Island?" Luffy finally realized.
"To take advantage of the chaos, of course," Kid sneered. "That place was supposed to be our spoils of war after defeating Charlotte Linlin."
Luffy sized up Kid. "You're no match for Katakuri. That guy is very strong."
"Is that so? I'd like to see for myself." It was rare for Kid to hear Luffy praise someone's strength. "Provided he hasn't already died at Blackbeard's hands..."
Before long, the Thousand Sunny began its burst acceleration, racing toward Whole Cake Island.
On the Bikudōpu, Buggy also awaited the arrival of Big News Morgans.
He landed on the ship panting and tossed a roll of newspapers to Buggy.
"The latest newspaper, I brought it along. What do you want with me?" Morgans asked.
Buggy opened the newspaper and found that he already knew most of the news.
There was news of the Revolutionary Army successfully occupying eight countries, news of the Blackbeard Pirates seizing Totto Land, and news of Sabo becoming the Flame Emperor.
Buggy already knew about the first two events.
As for the last one... the reputation of the Mera Mera no Mi had undergone a complete reversal, shedding its title as a Devil Fruit that even a dog wouldn't eat. Instead, it was Ace's reputation that suffered.
The Mera Mera no Mi had a reason to talk now:
"Who are you, 'Fire Fist' Ace? Can you bring out my full potential? You can't, you don't have the ability, you know!"
Look at the current Flame Emperor Sabo; it sounds much more imposing than Fire Fist Ace.
Although Buggy didn't think Sabo was that strong... "The news in your newspaper is too old," Buggy said with some disdain.
Morgans explained, "The World Government's crackdown on us is getting more intense. The printing presses on the surface have all been destroyed. Now everything is printed in underground facilities, and the volume can't keep up. You think it's old? I think it's old too!"
"It seems the last live broadcast had a big impact on you!" Buggy realized he really hadn't received a newspaper in a long time, so that was why.
"It doesn't matter. As long as the news is big enough, I, Morgans, will risk my life to spread it. This is the lifelong pursuit of a newsman." Morgan patted his chest.
"Wait... you didn't call me here to make another pbig piece ofnews, did you?" Morgans realized.
"Exactly. I'm going to war with the Blackbeard Pirates. Can you set up a worldwide broadcast?" Buggy asked.
"That... is a bit difficult," Morgan said, looking troubled. "A conflict between Four Emperors Crews usually only makes the front page of the newspaper; it's not worth a live broadcast."
"What if the Four Emperors gather together?" Buggy pointed toward the Red Hair Pirates' ship. "We're going to conduct a righteous three-on-one."
Morgans suddenly perked up. "Then of course! However, a worldwide broadcast is impossible. The world is too chaotic right now. I can only do my best."
"Morgans, I can put in a word for you in the Revolutionary Army's territories to let your News Coos in." Dragon, who was accustomed to covering his face with a black robe, spoke up.
"Your printing plants could even move to Revolutionary Army territory. You can print your newspapers freely there..."
"Dragon?" Morgans saw Dragon's face clearly. "Has your Revolutionary Army allied with pirates?"
Morgans remembered that there were figures from the Revolutionary Army in the Buggy Pirates last time. This was big news.
"That... not for now," Dragon said. "I have some grudges against Blackbeard. I'm here for revenge this time."
"That's enough. I'll go arrange the broadcast right now." Morgans became excited.
