Chapter 41 – Weekend Plans
Author's POV
One Week Later...
The past week had gone by peacefully.
Life at HVIS had finally returned to normal.
Section E, however...
Was as chaotic as ever.
The final bell echoed throughout the campus.
Students immediately began packing their bags.
Ci-N stretched dramatically.
"Finally!"
"The weekend has arrived!"
David yawned as he slung his backpack over one shoulder.
"You say that every Friday."
"Because every Friday deserves to be celebrated," Ci-N replied proudly.
Felix laughed.
"I wonder what kind of trouble we'll get into this weekend."
Keifer smirked.
"Hopefully none."
Ci-N looked at him.
"You're with Jay."
"Trouble follows both of you."
Jay raised an eyebrow.
"Excuse me?"
"I'm innocent."
The entire group stared at her.
"..."
Jay sighed.
"Fine."
"Maybe not completely."
Everyone laughed.
After saying their goodbyes, the group slowly dispersed.
Soon...
Only Jay and Keifer remained.
---
Outside HVIS...
Keifer walked beside Jay.
After a few moments of silence, he finally spoke.
"Jay."
She looked at him.
"Hm?"
Keifer slipped his hands into his pockets.
"Kerian's been asking about you all week."
Jay's expression softened.
"He has?"
Keifer nodded.
"Every day."
"He keeps asking when you'll visit again."
Jay smiled gently.
"I miss him too."
Keifer returned her smile.
"So..."
"Would you come over this weekend?"
"It would really make him happy."
Jay was about to agree...
But then she remembered something.
"I'd love to."
"But I should ask Angelo first."
Keifer nodded.
"Of course."
"Let's go."
---
A little later...
The two arrived at Fernandez Corporation.
After greeting the receptionist, they headed toward the CEO's office.
Keifer knocked twice.
"Come in."
They entered.
Angelo looked up from the documents on his desk.
His serious expression immediately softened when he saw Jay.
"What brings you two here?"
Jay smiled.
"I wanted to ask you something."
Angelo leaned back in his chair.
"Go ahead."
Before Jay could continue...
Keifer cleared his throat.
"I was wondering if Jay could spend the weekend at our house."
"Kerian's been asking about her every day."
The smile on Angelo's face disappeared instantly.
"...No."
Keifer blinked.
"...No?"
Angelo folded his arms.
"Absolutely not."
"She's staying at your house."
Keifer sighed.
"Angelo..."
"I'm serious."
Angelo looked straight at him.
"You honestly expect me to let my little sister stay at your house?"
"Not happening."
Jay rubbed her forehead.
"Angelo..."
He ignored her.
"I know exactly how teenage boys think."
Keifer raised an eyebrow.
"You say that like you're an old man."
Angelo shot him a glare.
"Watch it."
Keifer couldn't resist teasing him.
"Come on."
"Weren't you the one who used to disappear with Ion whenever you had free time?"
The room fell silent.
Jay slowly looked at Angelo.
Then at Keifer.
She already knew where this was going.
Angelo slowly stood up.
"...Excuse me?"
Keifer grinned.
"I'm just saying..."
"If anyone understands how boys think..."
"It should be you."
Jay couldn't hold it in anymore.
She burst into laughter.
Angelo pointed a finger at Keifer.
"One more word..."
"And I'm cancelling this conversation."
Keifer immediately raised both hands.
"Okay."
"I'm done."
Angelo narrowed his eyes.
"I don't trust you."
"I barely tolerate you."
Keifer placed a hand over his heart dramatically.
"That hurts."
"It was supposed to."
Jay stepped between them before the argument could continue.
"Angelo..."
"Kerian really has been missing me."
"I'll only be there for the weekend."
"I promise."
Angelo looked at Jay for a long moment.
The anger in his eyes slowly faded.
Finally...
He let out a deep sigh.
"...Fine."
Keifer smiled.
"Really?"
Angelo pointed a finger directly at him.
"Don't celebrate yet."
"If you make my sister cry..."
"I don't care if you're the CEO of Watson Enterprises."
"I'll personally make sure you regret it."
Keifer gave a nervous chuckle.
"...Noted."
"And one more thing."
Angelo's expression turned serious again.
"No funny business."
"Do you understand me?"
Keifer nodded immediately.
"Crystal clear."
Jay smiled warmly.
"Thank you, Angelo."
Angelo smiled back at her.
"I trust you, Jay."
Then he looked at Keifer again.
"Him?"
"Not even a little."
Keifer sighed dramatically.
"I don't think he'll ever like me."
"I heard that."
"And you're right."
Jay laughed as she gently grabbed Keifer's wrist.
"Come on."
"Let's leave before he changes his mind."
As the office door closed...
Angelo leaned back in his chair and shook his head.
"They're lucky Kerian asked for her..."
"Otherwise, my answer would've stayed no."
---
Outside the building...
Keifer looked at Jay.
"Your brother is terrifying."
Jay giggled.
"He was actually being nice today."
Keifer stopped walking.
"...That was nice?"
Jay simply smiled and continued walking.
Keifer quickly caught up with her, still wondering if Angelo had a different definition of the word nice.
To Be Continued...
