To start off, I'm rating my novel 5 stars because I genuinely believe I'm writing something fun. Haha. This is actually my third book, but it's the first one I've truly felt this invested in. The first two remain unpublished due to writing issues and a lack of confidence at the time.
That said, I want to be upfront. This story will have a slow start. I'm taking my time to fully develop the world and characters in depth, rather than keeping things shallow or letting the plot become messy and confusing.
I apologize if you came here expecting a fast-paced story where the MC jumps between plot threads constantly. No pun intended.
Also, no harems. There will be romance and multiple female characters in the future, but I do not plan to write a harem. It is just not something I personally enjoy, though I do like a few select works in the genre.
I also apologize for any lack of creative prose. My vocabulary is not that deep yet, but I am actively learning. I read and study other works for inspiration, both in plot and writing style. Some of my favorites include Shadow Slave, Omniscient Reader, Kill the Sun, and The Novel's Extra, among others.
As for the main character, Arthur, now Vexis depending on how you refer to him, you will notice that Arthur and the original Vexis are distinct if you read through the chapters. Arthur is not an idiot, but he is not omniscient either. He knows the story and how it progresses, but a human brain can only retain so much information. So do not expect a super genius MC. He is smart, just not unrealistically so.
Don't worry, the plot will pick up as the chapters go on. I assure you that if you're looking for tension, intense action, or even heart-wrenching moments, you'll find them here. Oh boy, I really enjoy writing angst. Anything related to angst, honestly. The romance might surprise you as well.
This book is also heavily inspired by other stories where the main character becomes an extra in a novel they have read. You probably already know the kind of story I'm referring to. Still, I want to bring a fresh take on the "extra" premise, and I'm doing my best to deliver that.
