"Hey, I'm asking you a question. Did you hear me?"

Malfoy looked displeased.

He—the noble Malfoy, heir to one of the Sacred 28 pure-blood wizard families. Since enrollment, among Slytherin first-years, he commanded wind and rain. Almost everyone kissed up to him.

Except that detestable Harry "Scar-Head" Potter—this was the first time someone ignored him like this.

"Heard you. Stop shouting."

Hermione didn't look up. "Say one more word and I'll leave immediately. You can stay here alone."

A cold wind blew timely. Feeling the eerie atmosphere, Malfoy shuddered. Body unconsciously moved closer to Hermione.

Next second, seeming to find this embarrassing, stubbornly said: "Hmph, we're looking for the unicorn now. I won't argue with you. When we get back, if you dare, have a wizard's duel with me!"

"Oh? You sure?"

Hermione glanced at him. Tone playful.

Malfoy's face stiffened.

Only then did he remember—this wasn't some ordinary wizard.

The scene of Hermione brutally torturing the troll to death in an extremely bloody, cruel manner was still fresh in his mind.

Forget him—even most upper-year wizards clearly weren't her match. Just one Shield Charm left him helpless.

Who knew how this person learned high-year spells just by reading books.

"Let's go. I've roughly found the direction." Hermione stood.

Through analyzing surrounding traces, she could roughly guess the injured unicorn's escape direction.

She looked at where Hagrid and others left. Speechless.

Completely went the wrong way.

Most wizards only focused on magic. Ignored the most basic observation and reasoning.

After so many years as gamekeeper, you haven't improved at all. No wonder in the Chamber of Secrets incident, after so long, you could still be framed twice for the same thing.

After walking a while, seeing Hermione silent, Malfoy's courage grew again.

"How do you know the unicorn fled this way?"

"You sure you didn't go the wrong direction?"

"You didn't get us lost, did you? Should've just stayed put and waited for Scar-Head and them to return."

"You…"

Hermione was annoyed by his nagging. Turned and glared.

"None of your business. Shut up!"

"With your IQ, it's hard to explain to you. Don't want to walk? Roll back yourself. Stop whining!"

After Hermione snapped at him, Malfoy froze.

She dared yell at me? She actually dared yell at me?

Since childhood, even my father… no, except my father, no one's yelled at me!

"Stop being so smug. You're just a filthy mud—"

Next second, his words caught in his throat.

Because Malfoy saw—ahead, a figure shrouded entirely in black robes, ghost-like, was bent over a dying unicorn's body. Greedily drinking its blood.

Under the black robe's half-covered face, silver liquid still dripped from the mouth's corner.

"Ahhh!"

Malfoy let out a terrified scream.

Attracted by the cry, the robed figure raised its head. Drifted toward them like a specter.

Malfoy turned to run. But tripped on vines. Could only retreat bit by bit. Until his back hit a tree. Watched helplessly as the black-robed monster drew closer.

BANG!

Just as the robed figure lunged, a thunderous sound echoed through the Forbidden Forest sky.

The robed figure's forward movement instantly halted. Then stumbled and fell to the ground. Couldn't even maintain floating form.

BANG! BANG!

A series of sounds rang out. Hermione held a pistol. Fired multiple shots at the shadow. Instantly emptied the magazine.

The shadow's entire body violently shook. Let out a pained growl. Then convulsed a few times. Completely still.

Glock wand, pure steel core, nine-millimeter magic, kid!

Never seen this, have you!

This gun was taken from the robber she'd dealt with during that incident. Surprisingly useful.

Hermione calmly removed the magazine. Pulled out a handful of brass bullets. Loaded them one by one.

Then raised the pistol at the corpse again.

"Damn it!"

The shadow couldn't hold it anymore. Let out an exasperated curse. Suddenly flipped over. On all fours. Rolling and crawling. Turned and fled. Speed rivaling an Olympic sprinter.

Knew you were playing dead… Hermione snorted coldly. But didn't shoot again.

She had no intention of killing him. Plus probably not that easy to kill anyway.

Seeing the shadow disappear into the forest depths, Hermione looked at the collapsed Malfoy. Gun barrel aimed at his head.

"By the way, you said 'mud' what? I didn't hear clearly."

Malfoy swallowed. Looked at Hermione with eyes full of fear.

Hermione slowly lowered the gun. Scare him more and he'll wet himself.

Harry, this is way more useful than a wand!

Just then, Hagrid and Harry ran over from the distance.

"What happened?!"

Upon meeting, Hagrid immediately questioned.

They'd heard a huge sound from afar. Worried about Hermione and Malfoy's safety, rushed over. On the way, discovered a black shadow fleeing desperately past them.

Harry's forehead scar suddenly hurt.

"Nothing much. Encountered the unicorn attacker. I chased him off." Hermione said lightly.

I see.

Harry and Ron instantly accepted.

Having witnessed Hermione's ferocity, both developed inexplicable confidence in her.

A mere attacker—not half as scary as Hermione. Being driven off is natural.

"More importantly…"

Hermione jerked her chin.

Following her gaze, Hagrid saw the unicorn's corpse. After checking, shook his head.

"Who was the attacker?!" Hagrid gritted his teeth.

Voldemort, who else… Hermione thought.

Deliberately released the troll into school to create an opportunity to steal the Philosopher's Stone from the third-floor corridor. But was discovered and stopped by Snape.

Failed to obtain it. Had to come to the Forbidden Forest to drink unicorn blood to survive.

Whether Quirrell's own methods or Voldemort's, or the unicorn blood's efficacy—taking so many bullets and still able to bounce around. Truly impressive.

"What's wrong with him?"

Harry finally noticed the shell-shocked Malfoy.

"Too timid. Got scared." Hermione helplessly shrugged.

Harry and Ron simultaneously cast contemptuous looks.

"Damn attacker!" Hagrid said hatefully.

Another mark against Quirrell.

Just then, Hermione noticed—the magic book's stored Soul Energy had somehow increased by a full 500 points!

Seems when Quirrell killed the unicorn earlier, she was nearby and triggered Dark Harvest.

Very good. You take the blame, I take the benefits.

What a good person!

Hermione was deeply moved. Wiped nonexistent tears.

However, one unicorn gives 500 points. If I could kill twenty, wouldn't that be… Stop that thought, Hermione!

Forcibly expelling this dangerous notion, Hermione silently followed the group away.
