Chapter 4 - chapter 4 gulded cage II

Somewhere far up in the galaxy, two astronauts could be seen hopping on top of the planet Mars. They put on their safety suits and helmets, preventing them from floating away and helping them grasp for air as they planted their flag on the planet's surface. One of the astronauts took out his cell phone.

"Okay, baby, we're here," one of the astronauts said, taking a selfie, when he suddenly saw something like a meteor clad in flames coming toward them.

"Holy shit!!....."

BOOM!!.....

The planet was caught in the process as the meteor shower raced through space orbits, passing through various galaxies, searching for suitable planets filled with signs of life to settle upon.

Finally, it found Earth. God! She was so beautiful, making her entry with flames. It was daytime when it arrived, and people saw something like flames and smoke descending like a nuclear bomb as it landed in a forest in Japan.

BOOM!!...

The entire place was left filled with smoke as birds flew out of the forest. Four individuals emerged, landing on the ground with their arms spread.

They inhaled the planet's oxygen into their lungs, which appeared more nourishing than that of their own planet. In a half-kneeling position, the first things they saw were a flowing river and tall buildings stretching toward the sky in the far distance. They opened their mouths, letting bursts of steam hiss out.

Shibuya:

"Positive, you're free to fire!" a voice spoke through the comm.

"So, Karl, tell me, where did you come from?" Amanda asked, putting a full spoon of chicken sauce into her mouth. Karl cleaned his mouth with a napkin that was placed on the table.

"Ahh! Yes, I come from Afghanistan. I also served in the military. I served in the United States for two years, then got deployed to Italy and served another two years there. Later, I was transferred to Japan when I heard Mr. Grant was looking for a bodyguard who would look out for his daughter, so I volunteered. But I wasn't expecting it to be this beautiful," he said teasingly, truly stunned by her beauty.

Amanda sipped a glass of soft juice. "What about your family?" she asked, placing the glass on the table and staring at him.

"They're in Afghanistan. I'm the only child in my family. My father is a retired military officer who wants me to follow in his footsteps by enrolling me in military school, while my mother doesn't want me to. While I do love my father's job, I also have a passion for becoming a strong military officer just like him," Karl said, putting a forkful of meat into his mouth.

"So you're following your dad's footsteps? I bet your father must be proud," Amanda said, almost finished with her meal.

"Yep, he is. In my family, my father is the sixth generation in the military. My family has all been in the military, including myself."

"Are you from here?!" Amanda asked.

"Nope. Like I said earlier, I was born and bred in Afghanistan," he said. His appearance showed he wasn't Japanese: brown hair, brown eyes, a smooth face, and a pointed nose. He wore a white sweater mixed with black, with a white shirt underneath. As he unzipped his jacket, it opened, exposing the military pendant he wore around his neck, proving he was a soldier. At the same time, he looked very young. Maybe that was why her father hired him. Karl, though, had a gift of his own—quick reactions.

Description: Quick Reactions: An ability that alerts Karl to incoming danger. Karl noticed something was off the whole time; he felt they were being watched. Suddenly, the air stopped moving, and everything began to slow down. He realized something was about to blow Amanda's head off, and he was right. He spotted a sniper on top of a building, pointing directly at Amanda.

"Oh! No!!"

"What's wrong?" Amanda asked, confused.

"Watch out!!"

At full speed, Karl dived, pulling Amanda out of her chair just in time as the bullet caught him in his left ear.

Slit!!

The bullet grazed past his ear. He ended up taking the bullet in Amanda's place. Panic spread as people began running to and fro from the restaurant. Still on the ground, Karl held Amanda, covering her face.

"Shit!!... we've been exposed...!"

Seeing that her bullet didn't hit the target, the female assassin, known as Jade 7, switched weapons from a sniper rifle to a crossbow. Karl raised his head and saw her switching weapons; he quickly recognized it as a weapon of mass destruction. A single shot could erase half a town and bring it to its knees.

"Shit!!...?"

"We gotta go now!!..." Karl said, helping Amanda to her feet as they ran toward the car. They entered the car and drove off at full speed. Along the way, Karl changed positions, swerving left and right to avoid direct hits from the assassin, Jade 7.

"Who are those people?!... and why are they after me?!" Amanda screamed, terrified for her life, her hands on her head as she realized she was in great danger.

"They're your father's enemies—the Yakuza's, a mysterious Dark groups of people's whom has been haunting Mr. Grant for decades," Karl said, keeping one eye on the mirror while swinging the steering wheel left and right.

"What do they want?!" Amanda screamed.

"Money!" Karl replied, still focused on the mirror. "They're looking for a huge amount of money, and they believe capturing you will force Mr. Grant to submit to their proposal."

"What did my father do to them?!"

"Nothing. It's what they do. They go after the rich and extort money from them. Mr. Grant has been monitoring them for a long time now. That's why he always keeps an eye on you—to make sure you're safe," Karl said. Amanda was filled with regret when she realized her father had truly been trying to protect her. She wished she hadn't doubted him.

Jade 7 put on a tech helmet and locked onto the car, releasing a shot from her crossbow. This time she succeeded. It struck the car, causing a huge explosion on the street and leaving massive damage behind. The car flipped upside down, but luckily it hadn't exploded yet. Smoke began to erupt around them.

COUGHING.....!!

COUGHING.....!!

Karl pushed himself out of the car seat. His legs were badly injured, and his face was battered and bruised. Ignoring his own pain, he noticed fuel leaking onto the ground. He stumbled to the back seat, hoping nothing had happened to Amanda—if it had, Mr. Grant would have his head.

"Please!... be safe," he said. Kneeling down, he saw her passed out, blood dripping from her head.

"Amanda!! Amanda!!"

SHIT!!

He pulled her out of the car just in time and hurried away as far as possible as the vehicle was about to explode.

BOOM!!

The car exploded in flames mixed with gold-colored fire as it danced its way through the sky. Karl gently placed Amanda on the ground and began pumping her chest while giving her CPR. Finally, she came back to the real world.
