Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 – The Girl Who Fell From the Ceiling

I was having a perfectly normal bad day.

First, I overslept.

Second, I failed my physics test.

And third… someone literally fell through my ceiling.

Yes. My ceiling.

One second I was complaining about my life, and the next — BOOM — my fan crashed to the floor, dust exploded everywhere, and a girl landed right on top of my study table.

My table. My only table.

I coughed through the smoke.

"Are you… alive?"

The girl slowly stood up.

She looked about my age. Long black hair. Strange silver markings glowing faintly on her wrist. And she was wearing something that definitely wasn't from any brand I knew.

She looked around my room like it was a museum.

"Where am I?" she asked, her voice sharp.

"My house?!" I shouted. "Where did YOU come from?!"

She ignored me. Instead, she stretched out her hand.

And fire appeared.

Actual fire.

Just floating above her palm.

I stared.

She stared back.

"You're Arjun Mehra," she said calmly.

My heart stopped.

"…How do you know my name?"

Her eyes turned cold.

"Because I'm here to kill you."

Silence.

I blinked.

"…I'm sorry, what?"

Suddenly the fire grew brighter. Instinctively, I grabbed the nearest thing I could find — my pillow.

"Yes," I defended myself with a pillow. Don't judge me.

"Wait wait wait!" I yelled. "There must be some mistake! I can't even pass physics, how am I villain material?!"

She hesitated.

"According to the future records," she said slowly, "you become the Dark Sovereign. The destroyer of my world."

I stared at her.

"I can't even destroy my alarm clock properly."

For a second… I swear… her lips twitched.

Was that almost a smile?

But then her expression hardened again.

"Future cannot be wrong."

She stepped toward me.

And that's when something strange happened.

The fire in her hand flickered.

Then vanished.

She looked confused.

She tried again.

Nothing.

Her silver wrist marking glowed… then dimmed.

She looked at me like I had personally offended physics.

"What did you do?"

"ME?!" I shouted. "You broke my ceiling!"

She tried again — still no power.

I slowly lowered my pillow.

"Maybe… your magic has network issues?"

She glared at me.

"You're not taking this seriously."

"Oh, I'm taking it very seriously," I said. "There's a girl in my room who wants to murder me. That's very serious."

She walked past me toward the window.

Outside, traffic moved normally. The world had no idea a potential interdimensional assassin was standing in my bedroom.

She whispered something under her breath — probably in some alien language.

Then she turned back to me.

"My power isn't working."

"Great," I said quickly. "So… murder postponed?"

She didn't laugh.

But she didn't deny it either.

After a long silence, she said, "Until my power returns… I must stay here."

My brain froze.

"Stay here?" I repeated. "As in… in this room?"

She nodded calmly.

"You are my target. I cannot let you out of my sight."

"This is kidnapping," I muttered.

She crossed her arms.

"This is surveillance."

I stared at the hole in my ceiling.

My mom would be home in two hours.

I looked at the mysterious girl from another world.

She looked back at me like she owned the place.

"…You can't even use your powers," I said carefully.

Her eyes narrowed.

"Do not underestimate me."

Right on cue, she tried to summon fire again.

Nothing happened.

I couldn't help it.

I laughed.

She stepped closer.

Too close.

Her eyes weren't just dark… they were stormy. Angry. Confused. Maybe even scared.

"If you are destined to destroy my world," she whispered, "I will stop you. Even if I have to live beside you to do it."

Live beside me?

Oh no.

This was bad.

Very bad.

Because for some reason…

My heart wasn't scared anymore.

It was racing for a completely different reason.

And I had a terrible feeling—

This girl who came to kill me…

Was about to ruin my life in a way I never expected.

To be continued… 🔥
