Hikaru's voice cut through the conversation with the same efficiency her invisible blades applied to training dummies. Low, controlled, and carrying enough authority to stop people talking not through volume but through the specific quality of someone who had spent years training herself to be heard despite wanting to be invisible.
"Everyone shut up."
The group went silent.
Hikaru stood at the edge of our formation with her red eyes fixed on a point somewhere above and to the left, her head tilted at an angle that reminded me of a dog hearing a frequency beyond human perception.
