According to what Kagetsu knew, Mount Penglai Island was sealed within a Barrier of Time, its core linked to a resonance cauldron.
This barrier isolated the island in a separate space, only opening once every fifty years to allow it to reappear in the world.
And right now,
He was trying to break in.
The good news was that, under the Mangekyo Sharingan's energy vision, he had already located the barrier.
The flow of natural energy in that region was noticeably more active than elsewhere, clearly indicating that something abnormal lay hidden there.
The bad news?
It couldn't be touched.
No matter what he did, the barrier felt intangible, like something that didn't exist in the same layer of reality.
Kagetsu narrowed his eyes.
So it really is shifted into another dimension…
"Let's leave for now," Kikyo said softly. "We'll have to wait until the island appears on its own."
"No." Kagetsu shook his head. "I'm not done yet."
A glint of excitement flickered in his eyes.
Kikyo looked at him curiously.
Kagetsu closed his right eye.
His left eye opened,Mangekyo Sharingan blazing.
"Kamui."
Space itself began to twist.
A spiraling vortex unfolded before them, distorting the air as it expanded outward.
The sea rippled unnaturally, as if reality itself were being stirred.
Kikyo's eyes widened slightly.
"You're trying to use Kamui's spatial distortion to interfere with the barrier… and expose the dimension hiding the island?"
"Exactly."
Kagetsu 's gaze swept across the sea as he slowly moved the vortex, probing every inch of distorted space.
"We confirmed earlier, the island last appeared fifty years ago. That means it's due to appear again soon."
"Which also means…"
He smirked faintly.
"The barrier is at its weakest right now."
"If there's ever a time to break it,this is it."
The vortex shifted again,
Then suddenly,
"Found it."
Kagetsu 's voice sharpened.
Kikyo immediately focused.
At the edge of the warped space, something different appeared.
Not ocean.
Not sky.
But,
A cliffside, overgrown with trees.
As the vortex expanded, the illusion peeled away.
A faint outline emerged.
Then clearer,
And clearer,
Until the phantom of an island appeared, hovering like a mirage beyond reality.
"It really is Mount Penglai…" Kikyo whispered, stunned.
But her expression soon tightened.
"Even if we can see it… how do we enter?"
Kagetsu smiled.
"With Kamui."
He stabilized the vortex, locking onto the exposed dimension.
"The left eye's Kamui doesn't just connect to its own space,it can resonate with other dimensions."
"As long as I mark the coordinates…"
"I can force a passage open."
Kikyo stared at him in disbelief.
"It can even do that…?"
"This is only the left eye," Kagetsu said calmly. "If you saw the right eye's ability, you'd understand why this technique stands above all other Mangekyo abilities."
Kamui wasn't just a transport technique.
It was a dimensional authority.
Of course,
Even that had limits.
A true parallel world, like Kagome's,was far too vast.
Trying to force a path there would drain him dry instantly.
But Mount Penglai Island?
Just a sealed sub-dimension.
Manageable.
Kagetsu reached out and pulled Kikyo closer.
"Stay close."
Then his gaze dropped to Entei.
"Don't move."
"If you struggle, you'll be torn apart."
",!"
Entei froze instantly, not daring to twitch.
Even the flames on its hooves dimmed.
Kagetsu 's eye flared.
Chakra surged violently.
"Kamui!"
The vortex expanded in an instant,
Swallowing all three of them whole.
And then,
They vanished.
Inside Mount Penglai Island
High above a crescent-shaped island,
Space twisted open.
A vortex appeared.
Then,
Kagetsu , Kikyo, and Entei emerged from it, suspended in midair.
"We made it…" Kikyo breathed, staring down at the island below.
Her eyes shimmered with amazement.
After fifty years,
She had returned.
But then she frowned slightly.
"How do we leave later?"
Kagetsu chuckled.
"We came in with Kamui."
"We leave the same way."
Kikyo relaxed.
Her gaze swept across the island, lush forests, quiet land, untouched by time.
Last time, she had barely explored it.
Now,
She finally could.
"Let's go down," she said softly, patting Entei.
"Let's see this legendary island."
"You're wrong," Kagetsu said.
A smile slowly spread across his face.
"As of now,"
"This is our island."
Kikyo blinked.
Then gave him a helpless look.
But moments later,
She smiled.
"…You're right."
Entei descended.
The island grew closer.
Closer,Then,
BOOM!
The sea below erupted.
A massive vortex formed on the water's surface,
And in the next instant,
A blazing sphere of demonic power shot upward toward them.
Too slow.
Entei tilted its body slightly,
Effortlessly dodging.
Kagetsu glanced back at the attack.
"So they noticed us already."
His Rinnegan surfaced.
Cold.
He raised his hand.
"Bansho Tenin."
The air distorted.
Gravity reversed.
The demonic sphere froze,
Then violently snapped backward,
Shooting back toward the sea faster than before.
And,
CRASH!
It slammed into the ocean with explosive force.
Kagetsu lowered his hand.
His gaze lifted toward the island's peak.
A faint smile formed.
"Looks like our 'hosts' are eager to greet us."
