Chapter 40 - Mystery

"Why did Cassie chose to do things like she did?" Sunny asked.

"Why didn't she use this method instead? ...To break my chains..."

Sunny was confused.

He heard from Raine that she had gone lengths do fix what she did but it also came with a great price.

His whole existence was erased.

No one remembered him afterwards.

Friends, family... All gone.

Whatever he did, whatever achivements he had were all forgotten.

....

....

"It's simple. ..She was just weak." Raine replied not showing any respect for the dead women.

"She was simply too weak to even think something like this." He continued.

"Weakness limits the mind...."

"It limits your potential."

"You can't do something you can't even imagine yourself doing in the first place." Raine said.

"This method, ..standing directly against fate, is something only strong people dares to do. Not someone as weak as her."

"What else can you expect from a blind person who couldn't even walk without someone else's help?"

Sunny heart stinged for some reason after hearing this.

"That's why she did it that way." Raine said.

"Never daring to create something new. She always manipulated what was already going to happen."

"Thousand cuts my ass! All it needed was a single but mighty blow to break the fate."

"You think nobody knows this?" Raine asked Sunny.

"You think the spell, who is trying to change the fate, don't know how to do it?"

"You think the spell that was created by the deamon of fate himself don't know how to break fate?"

"It dose!.... It dose know."

"And it put the method in front of everyone to see."

"Why do you think it gives people strength instead of not giving them brain of a fox?"

"Because absolute strength is the way. Strength is needed to break free from what is about to happen. Pure Strength can blow everything if you know where to hit." Raine said with a bit of force.

"And She ... She didn't had any. She was simply weak to do anything else."

"She left everything in your hand, not knowing that if things go wrong even a tiny bit, ... You might die....."

"You might die and nobody will know that you even existed."

"She just wanted to break free from her own guilt, one way or another."

"So don't think she couldn't have done better then that."

"She simply didn't had the guts to try that."

....

....

....

Sunny was silent for a long time.

...

"You hate her, don't you?" He asked finally.

"There isn't any reason for me to not hate her. And I know you hate her too."

"And after everything I told you until now, if you still pity her, then there's something wrong with your head." Raine said.

"The only thing saving her is her being blind and pretty."

"If you remove those two, people wouldn't even bet an eye before killing her."

"And that's the truth."

...

Sunny got up.

"I need to digest all this information." Sunny said as he went to his luxurious bed and lied down on his side of the bed.

The bed had become a shared one at this point.

He went over the conversation he just had.

On the floor, Raine was convincing Prisma that he would never marry any women and that child was just an example.

....

....

"Hey, you said about spell trying to change fate, right? ..why is it doing that? ..what's the reason?" Sunny asked after about an hour going through everything.

"Oh, that.... I actually don't know full details.. but it's trying to prevent something bad from happening, you can think of it as an apocalypse.. where in the end nothing will remain.." Raine said as he continued patting his sword.

"So, .. it's trying to save everyone?" Sunny asked.

"Yeah, kinda.... I don't know the motives but yeah, it will prevent the world from getting destroyed ... So she's helping the humanity survive too, in a way." Raine said.

"...And she said.... she'll destroy it...."

"....Nephis told me she will destroy the spell." Sunny said not knowing what to do with this anymore.

"Well, she will die before she could do something like that." Raine said simply.

Sunny turned to him in shock.

"Is that something that will happen? Will she really die?" Sunny asked.

"Nah, it isn't something that was suppose to happen.. but it will."

"If that simpleton didn't drop that goal then she will die for sure... Someone will kill her... Who wouldn't. ..She's trying to destroy the only thing that can prevent World distruction. ..so it's an obvious choice." Raine said.

Sunny was shocked.

"...But don't you believe in free will? She can do whatever she wants, right? Isn't that how you said it should be?" Sunny asked.

"Yeah, I do believe in free will. .. she is free to do anything... But I'm also free to do anything, you know..." Raine looked at him.

"And if I want this world to continue existing, then I will to do it."

"If she's free to destroy the spell, then I'm free to destroy her as well, Simple." Raine said.

Sunny didn't knew what to do.

"So if you want to prevent that, make her drop that idea. ....Why is she doing that anyway? Did she gave a reason? ...She told you right? What was her reason?" Raine asked Sunny.

"...she said she hated it.." Sunny said.

"Yeah? I know that. But I'm asking the reason? Why dose she hate it? There should be a reason right?" Raine asked again.

"..well,... that was her reason.... She doesn't think like normal humans, you see." Sunny said with embarrassment.

"Yeah, she's really messed up in her head, man. ...I would advise to you to stay as far away as possible. You hear?" Raine said, serious this time.

"...Yeah...." Sunny said, a bit hesitant.

" ..I'll do that..."

....

"Actually I noticed something else too. You gave you 'wierd' reason for calling spell a 'she', right?"

"But why did you refer Wearer as a 'he'? Is he a male? How do you know if they are man or women?" Sunny asked.

"Oh, that I just figured it out on my own. Let me explain...." Raine said as with proud smile as he summoned a Demonic mask.

"You see this?" Raine gestured at the mask.

Sunny nodded, waiting for a mystery to unravel itself.

"Do you see any flowers drawn on it? ...Or is this pink? ..or is this beautiful?"

Sunny just stared at the man with a deadpan.

Raine continued, taking Sunny expression as pure shock.

"You see, if it was made by a women, it would be at least a bit beautiful. But this thing.... It can give people nightmares if they see this unprepared."

"Hence Only man can create something like that." Raine said proud of figuring out the greatest of the mystery.

"...I'm... not really sure about that.." Sunny said with uncertainty.

"Oh, come on,... why would a women hide their own beauty behind an ugly Mask...They will never." Raine said as he once again entered his sage mode.

"A women takes pride in there beauty. If she's covering herself that's because she's hiding her uglyness.... If she's confident in her beauty, she will abandoned all shame and reveal even her priv-"

"OK, I UNDERSTAND. .....NO NEED TO CONTINUE FURTHER THEN THAT." Sunny shouted.

"I understand how Weaver was a man. Thanks for solving the mystery." Sunny gave up.

"Hahahahaha, no need to worry, my disciple. I was born to unravel the mysterys of this world.... It's only natural that I share my hard earned wisdom with others..." Raine trying to be humble.

"It's as they say..."

"Knowledge is the only treasure that grows when shared." Raine said with a proud look...

"Who is this 'they' that you always talk about, hah?" Sunny asked with confusion.

Raine didn't have a reply this time.
