Chapter 33 - Sold

"I'll do it for you, Brother." Raine said with a smile on his face.

Sunny was practicing beaming with pride and joy.

"I knew You would do it. I was sure of it. Now those bastards will never look down on me again. They were acting like I'm a pathological lier..... Bastards...there faces would be a sight to see when you kill that Golden bastard....hahahahhaah"

Sunny was fantasizing about that moment already.

"Ok,...So what about payment?"

The question burst the sweet bubble of dream.

"...Payment?" Sunny asked a bit shocked.

"Yeah, payment? I'm sure you have also settled my payment for this task? ....but seeing your expression, I assume you didn't, hah!" Raine said.

".....Yeah,... I completely forgot about that part, hehehe" he scratched his head like some ideot. "But those poor fools wouldn't be able to pay for something like that anyway...they even refused to give me a couple of memories...and they were saying I'm the greedy one,... Bastards!..." Sunny complained.

"Well, no matter, I'll settle it myself, but first, let's go to castle to buy that storage memory." Raine said.

"Ok,..but I'm not sure if he'll sell it or not. ..but let's go anyway, I have plenty of shards to buy memories for Saint." Sunny ran back inside the celler, and brought about fifteen hundred soul shards in a bag.

"Ok, let's go..."

They moved towards the castle.

....

After receiving the strange looks from the guards, they moved towards the memory market.

Sunny had bribed almost everyone who looked their way suspiciously.

It only took him about fifteen shards to reach the memory market.

This time Stev was still sitting in his chair.

No greetings, no respect.

He was looking at them as if looking at scammers.

"So you are back again, hah.." Stev said, recognising the two of them.

Raine moved forward.

"Yeah, we are here for that storage memory, and my brother here, wants to buy some memories for himself." Raine said.

'so he's not his servent? I should have known!'

...

Stev was left with a problem to deal with after this man said that he'll bring the shards.

He couldn't sell the memory, but he also didn't wanted to offend the legacy.

'So I'll tell him it's sold, sold to the Lord himself,... nobody dares to approach him, so I'll be safe.'

Thinking this, he waited.

Waited for them to come back with shards.

But no one came.

He asked around, and found that those two didn't live in castle, they were from outer settlement, and had come here just to get memories.

'Those fuckers...' he was angry.

Angry for giving him such a huge headache to deal with.

And for what? Nothing.

Sure, they brought profit, but life was more important then any profit.

And they had scared him to death because the memory belonged to Bright lord himself...

But...

He realised he was scared for nothing.

Legacy or not...outer settlement people had no influence inside the castle.

Non at all.

That's why he was angry at these two, who pretended to be legacy for getting good memories.

Hell, he wasn't even allowed to sell something good to people who didn't work for bright lord himself.

And these two....

"You want storage memory, hah? GET THE HELL OUT.....GET THE HELL OUT BEFORE I INFORM A GUARD! ...YOU'LL GET NOTHING, NOTHING, SO GET OUT OF MY SHOP, RIGHT NOW." Stev shouted at them.

"Bastard, we are paying, aren't we?" The Black haired man said in anger.

"I don't care if you are paying or not. if you don't get out-"

"You are dead."

The voice didn't came from Stev.

It came from Raine.

"What did you say?" Stev was dumbfounded, some random bastards came to his shop and threatened him to death?

"I said if you go back on your words, you are dead, Bastard." Raine said again.

Just as he finished, a glowing sword rose from his shadow and launched itself at Stev head.

"WAIT!" Raine shouted.

The blade paused just a inch before Stev face.

"I was just threatening him, you know, you can't kill him for real?..... Not yet, atleast."

...

Stev had cold sweat running down his forehead.

"Who's gonna give us that memory if he dies, so don't do it,....yet." he again empathised the word 'yet'.

The blade circleed around Stev head, as if waiting for him to deny so she could continue.

"...You ....you can have it." Stev aggred willingly to the deal.

The sword didn't left it's position.

"Here..." he summoned a small chest with intricate design about a half meter wide....

And turned it upside down,..... scattering all kinds of memories and soul shards on his feet.

"Good.... Sunny, pay him..." Raine said as he reached for the box and it disappeared in his soul sea.

Sunny didn't knew what to do.

He found the scene confusing, so much confusing.

He even started to pity the poor shopkeeper.

The blade finally left Stev's head and returned into Raine shadow.

"I'll give you one advice, my friend..."

"A shopkeeper should sell everything, but never his words,... you got that?" Raine said as Stev nodded his head.

"Ok, Sunny, if you want to buy something, you can do that, I'll wait outside,.... he's maybe uncomfortable around me...." Saying that, Raine left for the exit.

Sunny didn't knew what to do. He wanted to buy memories, but seeing the state of poor man, he didn't want to force him.

So once again.....he put the whole bag of shards on counter and left.

This time out of pity for the man.

...

Stev fell back on his cheir.

His heart beating fast.

He could have called guards, but he didn't.

He wasn't sure if guards could save him from that man and his bloodthirsty sword.

...

Soon he composed himself.

He understood what he had to do.

He tidy up all scattered things, and ....decided to pretend nothing happened.

Because...

If Bright lord heard of this, the first one to lose his head would be Stev himself.

....
