Chapter 74 - Naruto: The God — Chapter 74: Team Assembles, Hiruzen’s Ambition

"In just a few minutes… he soloed an entire Anbu squad? This new guy is way too much!"

"The key is, his chakra shows no sign of disturbance at all. He wasn't even trying his hardest… frightening, truly frightening."

Only after a long pause did whispers finally rise in the training ground. Everyone's eyes were filled with nothing but shock.

Qianyu's strength had reached a level that inspired outright awe.

"That wasn't a spar anymore! That guy just slaughtered an Anbu squad! I need to go inform the Hokage, now!"

An Anbu was about to rush off to report to Hiruzen Sarutobi when a panting Haruhi, who had just hurried over, grabbed his shoulder.

"Don't worry, it's fine. I hear this Thunderclap guy's medical skills are insane. If there's even a breath left in them, he can pull them back. Just watch."

Under the gaze of the Anbu, Qianyu walked first to Kogane and Nawaki, sending two streams of pure chakra into their bodies.

"Senior Kogane, Nawaki. You two okay?" Qianyu asked quietly.

"We're fine, Qianyu."

Nawaki rubbed the bruises on his body, wincing. "Go help those guys. It'd be a huge mess if someone actually died."

Qianyu grinned confidently. "Won't happen. Relax. I'm always precise."

Silence.

Complete silence fell over the area.

Maybe check on the four guys lying on the ground half-dead before you say that?

"Woof! Woof!"

THUMP!

After confirming the two were fine, Qianyu kicked away the ninja dog pouncing at him and began treating the fallen.

To avoid an 'un-revivable' situation, he'd only knocked out the Aburame Anbu earlier. As for the other three… they weren't dead yet, right? That's good enough!

[Ding! Treatment successful. Congratulations, Host, on obtaining Multi-Size Technique!]

[Multi-Size Technique: Consumes vast chakra to temporarily double the size of any chosen body part!]

"Double? Damn… that's close to forty centimeters?!"

After stabilizing the Akimichi Anbu's injuries, Qianyu glanced at the reward and sucked in a sharp breath. He then moved to the Inuzuka Anbu.

[Ding! Treatment successful. Congratulations, Host, on obtaining passive ability Canine Eyes!]

Qianyu: "???"

He resisted the urge to stab the Inuzuka Anbu again and opened the ability description.

[Canine Eyes: Legend says dogs can see things humans can't. With night vision five times better than a human's, the host's night vision is enhanced!]

"Fine. Somewhat useful. I'll take it."

Qianyu withdrew his hand from the Inuzuka Anbu's chest and walked over to the most deserving-of-death Hyūga Anbu. Pinching his nose, he began treatment.

This one took longer. Qianyu had been genuinely angry when he struck, so the injuries were… a tad more severe. A few more broken bones.

"Thunderclap, I brought a med-kit. Might have tools you need."

At that moment, the observant Haruhi emerged from the crowd, trotting over to present a medical kit to Qianyu.

"This Haruhi kid's got guts, actually talking to that killing star?"

"Holy shit, never noticed before. This guy's something else!"

When Haruhi returned to the crowd, everyone looked at him differently, a hint of respect in their eyes.

Haruhi saw it. He unconsciously puffed out his chest, a bit smug. Thanks to Qianyu, this little invisible Anbu was finally getting some recognition!

[Ding! Treatment successful. Congratulations, Host, on obtaining the Hyūga Clan's compiled Chart of the Twenty Regular and Extraordinary Meridians!]

After finally dealing with the bone fragments pressing the Hyūga Anbu's organs and roughly setting the bones that could still be set, Qianyu received the system prompt.

Simultaneously, an image of the human body's meridian pathways appeared in his mind. The twelve regular meridians, the eight extraordinary vessels, and every acupuncture point along them!

"Now this is a treasure!"

Unlike his calm reaction to the first two rewards, Qianyu's eyes instantly lit up.

This chart clearly marked the locations of the body's Eight Gates!

Meaning, from now on, he needed no one's guidance. If he could train his body to withstand the strain of opening the Gates, he could directly transform into a red beast!

"Hell yes. More of these clueless troublemakers, please…"

Thinking this, Qianyu narrowed his eyes and glanced behind him.

But every Anbu his gaze swept over refused to meet his eyes. Disappointing.

Novels really lied. According to novel logic, a bunch of even more badass guys should've jumped out by now, shouting about getting payback for their boys.

"Colleagues," Qianyu stood up, cupping his hands towards the crowd. "I, Thunderclap, am indeed the Hokage's direct subordinate. But I don't bully people with my position. These men bullied my comrades first. I was forced to teach them a lesson. Honestly, I'm easy to get along with. I hope for your guidance in the future."

"Sure, sure."

"Of course, of course."

Sparse, perfunctory replies came from the crowd. Qianyu shook his head helplessly.

He meant it. Why didn't they believe him?

"Oh, right. I heard there's an Anbu tradition—'newcomers must prove their strength' in a spar. Would any senior be willing to… offer some pointers?" Qianyu ventured.

Swish!

The moment he spoke, Anbu ninja turned into afterimages and vanished. The bustling training ground was suddenly deserted.

"Tch. Boring… Haruhi, these guys are out of danger. Get some people to carry them to the infirmary."

Qianyu waved over Haruhi, the only one who stayed.

"Got it, Thunderclap, my man!"

Haruhi responded cheerfully and scurried off to find people.

He'd made up his mind. From now on, he was clinging to Qianyu's leg. With that, he could walk sideways through the Anbu. No more bullying from the old guard!

Nawaki and Kogane went back to the equipment depot to requisition new gear. Qianyu returned first to Team Zero's private lounge.

There, he saw the blonde bombshell he hadn't met in a long time: Nonō Yakushi.

Watching her bandage her wounds alone, Qianyu felt a pang of guilt.

"Sorry, Nonō. Because of me, you had to go through this…"

"Please, don't say that."

Nonō turned, offering a gentle smile. "When I heard I could transfer to the Anbu, I was grateful to you. Compared to Root, this place is heaven."

Nonō's smile was sweet, carrying a beauty untainted by the mire. It stirred something in Qianyu's heart.

Nonō seemed gentle, yet she possessed an innate toughness and resilience. That contradictory blend was precisely her spark.

"Let me help with the ointment."

"Okay, thank you. There are some places I can't reach."

Though they hadn't met in a while, the shared life-and-death experience from before kept things familiar.

"Qianyu… if you have time, would you come with me to visit the kids at the orphanage sometime?"

Watching Qianyu kneeling in front of her, carefully applying medicine, Nonō suddenly spoke.

"Sure, no problem. Just tell me when, Headmistress," Qianyu answered with a smile.

Hokage's Office.

The current Anbu Captain, Hiruzen Shin'nosuke, knocked and entered, solemnly reporting the incident involving Qianyu to Hiruzen Sarutobi.

"Father, should I discipline him? Or even remove him from the Anbu?" Hiruzen Shin'nosuke asked.

"No, no, no."

Hiruzen Sarutobi waved his hand, took a drag from his pipe, and chuckled. "Qianyu was merely defending himself. He went a bit overboard, but no one died. No discipline needed."

Shin'nosuke hesitated. "But what if the major clans complain…"

"They aren't clan heirs. What complaints would they have?"

Hiruzen shook his head, patting his son's shoulder earnestly. "Shin'nosuke, you need to broaden your perspective. Don't get stuck on surface appearances."

A young man with ability, willing to act against other major clans, and unconcerned with reputation—wasn't that exactly the kind of talent they needed?

Cultivated properly, he might one day even replace Danzō Shimura.

On the other hand, someone like Sakumo Hatake, who maintained good relations with all the major clans… that was the type requiring "special attention"!

"Just remember, this kid is good. Make more contact with him in the future."

Seeing his son's somewhat blank stare, Hiruzen added helplessly.

"Oh, and spread the word about Qianyu joining the Anbu. Make sure the Uchiha clan hears about it. This child might become a bridge between the village and the Uchiha."

Hiruzen Sarutobi was in his prime, still harboring ambitions to fully bring the Uchiha clan under his wing. If he succeeded, his achievements would directly surpass those of the First and Second Hokage.

"Understood, Father," Hiruzen Shin'nosuke replied.
