This was the message i saw when i opened my eyes.
My name is Ragnar Eriksen and you might saw it's unusual name in our time yeah you're right but my parents have a reason for giving me this name you see the day i was born the world kinda ended '...'
Yeah the legendary and epic Ragnarok is real and the world is ending but strangely a system appeared and it began choosing and awakening humans as Heroes they are humans who have gained superpowers to fight against the monsters invading our world huge rifts began opening and waves of monsters emerge from them the World Hero Organisation is the most powerful and influential Organisation in the world in Ragnarok it takes all awakened humans and trains them and make them official Heroes they are not kids or adults running around using magical skills they are the real deal.
And now out of nowhere i was chosen as a hero and i was just 16 omg mom gonna be devastated you might think being a hero is better than being a normi defenseless against monsters you're right but the danger level also increase not all Heroes are strong most are weak and just meals for the monsters.
Anyway i have to tell my mom i sat on my bed staring at the floating system message in fron of me and i walked to the bathroom i washed my face and brushed my teeth i dampened my face with a towel and started at my reflection the reflection in front of me is the image of someone above 16 years it's that I'm way taller than most 16 years old i was 5'11 and a well defined and lean Physique and my blonde hair has grown tremendously the deep blue eyes that looked like a raging sea reflected back at me and not to sound arrogant I'm kinda a hot guy with well defined cheek bones and strong jawline and eye area with thick eyebrows well who cares about looks when the world ends.
It's been 16 years since the beginning of Ragnarok.
The system message was still floating with me and began heading to the living room there my mother was preparing breakfast and my little brother Chris was sitting on the table there was also my father he was scrolling through his phone for the morning news and walked over and sat down and greeted all of them and all looked at me to greet me but when they saw the screen floating in my head '...' my mother let go of the bowl she was holding in disbelief and my father stopped scrolling his phone even my little brother was shocked he was only 12.
My mother was crying and father was looking at me although you can refuse to be a hero after becoming an official hero but you have to go to the Organisation and learn before becoming official and that is a law this is because the organisation hopes that even if the people doesn't want to be a hero if emergency happens they can protect themselves and their loved ones and for that it's best to know how to use your powers.
The next day the local police arrived and i was taken from my home we were going to America there are many awakened and W.H.O takes all awakened into one of the major quarters where they would train the Heroes and one of them is located in America. There are many awakened here in Greenland we reached a small facility and were transported to the plane by which they will take us into America the plane have many awakened but i didn't find anyone i know so i chose an empty seat and sat down then after some time the travel began this was a direct flight so it took about 5 hours to reach America we directly descended in the head quarters of W.H.O remember they the most powerful organisation so this stuff isn't impossible.
The headquarter was huge beyond measure and there were many planes in there to a bus came took us to the inside of the headquarter there were many buildings and facilities we reached the main building and a person was waiting for us she wore formal outfit guess she works here and we stepped out of the bus i think there was 25 of us fron Greenland she greeted us and began talking
"Welcome awakened Heroes my name is ester you are all blessed by the system and are chosen to be Heroes and here we will teach and train you so that you may protect the world "
She asked us to follow here and entered the huge building there we went to a hall and she opened the door and entered there inside there were many awakened kids and most of similar age to mine there were about hundred of awakened including us and like always i stand out because i was one of the tallest one in here we quickly found a seat and sat down.
And infront there was a stage and someone walked over it he was a tall and strong looking man he wore a formal outfit.
He looked over all the kids present and his expression changed into pity on how we will suffer i guess.
Then he began talking he introduced himself and began a bunch of formal shit i have no idea about the only thing i know is that all of us present here are newly awakened and we would fill some paper work about our person information and we would be assigned into classes and would take our study we are given 3 months to learn everything by this limited time because the number of awakened growing by the day and we have to quickly learn so that the newly can have place to study and train.
We then were given cards that holds our personal information and a sign that we are students and other staff like i assigned class and dorms and given uniform we have to wear it was black in color and interesting design that allowed for mobility like the ones in martial art schools.
And we were dismissed to go to our dorm and reset for today the program will begin tomorrow.
I was assigned in dorm room 96 it was a bland room with a bed and small drawers for clothes and one chair and table and on the table is a weird device small and circular i sat down and touched then a holographic keyboard and screen i guess it's meant for notifications from the program i turned off the device and headed to the bed this was a tiresome day and many things happened and i fell a sleep like that.

Today we are beginning the training and study program and i was walking to the class i was assigned to class C i heard this building only housed our batch of awakened and they divided us into 5 class each 20 awakened students.
i found my class and entered most of the students were already present so it was a little awkward everyone was just starting into the door or day dreaming because no one knew each other i saw a empty seat at the side row front seat.
i didn't want to sit in the front but most other seats have already been taken so i sat down then after some minutes all of the students were present then entered the teacher he wore a white coat over his formal attire he was a short and slightly fat guy with a residing hair line and he wore glasses and his mustache was kept clean.
"Oh so all of the students are present Jesus christ i thought it was late and came running"
'He was sweating and breathing hard i wanted to imagine what kind of study this will be with this kind of teacher until he began talking'
"So my name is Walter White and i will be your lecture teacher ,the first part of the program is the lecture where you will learn important information in the hero world and the second part is the activity part where you will learn about fighting and survival "
'So this is how it is but the teacher didn't stop'
"First i want you all to introduce yourselves "
' Don't tell me this shit is happening i really hate this party in school '
Then the students began introducing themselves one by one there was Zhen a Chinese kid with long black hair and mustang who i guess is the oldest among us he has curly blonde hair he looked like a great statu with that hair and his well defined Physique and also he was the only one taller than me by an inch.
i guess but nevermind the next kid was taller than both of us Ezra he introduced himself he was tall ,muscular and a light brown skin and his dread locks reached his next his face was sharp and muscular.
There are others like stefan and selena and valentina she was a real beauty by the way that Latin descent is a blessing and also Ivar this are the ones i noticed then my turn came i quickly stand up and said
"My name is Ragnar Eriksen and nice to meet you all" and sat down i didn't see the faces of the students but i could guess some of them are confused by my unusual name.
So all students finished introducing themselves and the teacher began the course.
"So today we will learn the most important thing about being awakened hero you might think that for a hero the most important thing is fighting skill but there a basic necessity and that is the system so the system is what holds all you information from awakening to skills and ranks "
Now this was getting interesting the system which suddenly appeared and began awakening humans it was a mystery on where it comes but as he side it was the most important part in all this.

I began imagining status window and a transparent screen popped in front of me

So this is my status window and as i thought most of them are empty.
"Don't be disappointed if you find your stats low that's usually how it is"
Then he began explaining them each one by one . Then finally it was time for party.
"Hero parties you will all randomly be assigned into 5 student each party this is good for knowing each other better and soon you will be given quests like hunting monsters so it's good if you have friends to watch each other's back"
So i was grouped with Zhen, Mustang,Ezra and Valentina although they didn't talk much it looks a decent bunch but i don't know why Zhen looks happy he was starting at me alot i was reminded of my looks and thought he
might be into boys but then there was mustang who looks like a god but who knows then Ezra who was like a tower spoke "My name is Ezra Daniel i hope we get along" just as i was going to reply Zhen
opened his mouth "I'm Zhen Lin nice to meet you guys " then Valentina continued "Valentina de la Cruz " '...' then it was him "Mustang Andromeda nice to meet you"
There it was the name of a protagonist i cleared my throat and spoke "Ragnar Eriksen " now unlike before i saw their expression most were interested by my unusual name aside from Mustang that guy looks like he was daydreaming .
We finished the lecture class and now was the activity class.
We walked there as a party Zhen was trying to make small talk with mustang and Ezra but they didn't let him and when he turned to my direction i fastened my walking pace and his expression become gloomy '...'
We entered the activity class it was a big hall with different types of section area for different fighting types. And the teacher was waiting for us there he was a tall guy with muscular frame his head was bald that it was reflecting the light of the hall back and he was wearing a tank top and a sweatpant holding some kind of sword.
Then all 4 groups were present but most were concentrated on the wrong thing they were trying not to laugh at the teacher his head was glowing like a bulb and teacher noticed this and became furious.
"I see that you all think are here to play games "
His expression hardened and he disappeared and appeared in front of the student in the blink of an eye the wooden sword struck the hamstring of the kid with such force he floated in the air for a second a fall on his back.
All the students became nervous and began retreating from the teacher.
"Now pick a weapon " said the teacher satisfied with the results.
"My name is Robert Junior and as you might have guessed i am an official hero from now on i will be your teacher in physical and activity class".

We quickly chose weapons i was always interested in swords so i took a wooden sword i quickly checked the sword and looked into the direction of the other members of my group Zhen was holding what seemed like a spear while mustang, Ezra and Valentina all chose the sword like me.
"So the Organisation have developed 4 fighting techniques like fire,water,wind and earth each of this fighting techniques have different strengths and weaknesses the fire combat technique is highly focused in high offence it's the strongest when it comes to offence for that it's defence was non existent ,the water combat technique is best for adaptation and counterattack it's the most balanced out of all the combat techniques, the wind technique is focused on manoeuvre and evasion it's attack power is lacking, the earth technique is the strongest when it comes to defence because of that all aspects are a weakness the one i used earlier is the fire combat technique .
The combat technique i think the water is the best option.
"Now chosen a technique and separate into groups based on your choice "
I chose the water technique similarly mustang also chose the same there was other like what was their name yeah stefan, Ivar and selena we five chose the water technique.
Zhen chose the fire and Ezra picked the earth and valentina also chose the fire.
"Now i will demonstrate the principles of each of the techniques the you will perform understand"
'Yes' said in unison.
"The principle of fire is speed and strength "he planted his feet and exploded forward like a train the force generated from this strike concentrated onto the sword and connected at the chest of the human like doll slamming it hard on the wall.
All students were astonished some even looked like the hesitated their choice.
"That is the way of fire it's generating as much force as possible with a single strike "
"Now for the way of water " said after bringing the poor doll and taking his stance.
"The principle of water is endurance and agility you can generate as much force as fire so you must have great endurance so that you can stay attacking for more time and agility to evade and redirect attacks "
He called a student for demonstration
"Attack me as fast and as strong as you can"
Said the teacher the student adjust his position and began attacking awkwardly then he began redirecting the student brought the sword downward the teacher striked the sword horizontaly the student was the taken to the side by the unexpected momentum leaving his side open and the blade of the teacher fell into the obliques of the student and sent him flying.
" that is the way of water using the movement and momentumof your opponent as advantage for your strike it's specially effective against fire combat technique".
He then demonstrated the way of wind and earth and soon it was combat time.
"You and the curly haired one come over here" he pointed towards Zhen and Mustang and they quickly stepped into the ring and took their stance.
"Now begin " said the teacher but before he could finish Zhen exploded forward his wooden sword ready to stab mustang the speed of Zhen was incredible then in as instant the sword of mustang moved sideways so this is what the teacher means that the water is specially effective against fire Zhen's trajectory was changed by his momentum leaving his side wide open mustang swung his sword to strike zhen but an expected thing happened Zhen's foot planted itself against but this time he didn't explode forward he rotated his body counterclockwise and the back of his led collided with mustang's sword the momentum from the spin added more force to the strike pushing mustang back a few metres mustang tried to attack but the teacher stopped him mustang was outside the circular ring sign they were fighting in he lost.
This is a fight between a geniuses i am cooked '...'
Both returned to the students and more and more students were called out and fought and finally it was my turn and i was against stefan.
We entered the ring and took our stance we were both fire combat users so it was unknown who would have the advantage stefan was a creepy guys who is always smirking his height was average and his Physique is not impressive his brown wavy hair is well kept the teacher signaled to begin.
We both exploded at the same time and our sword clashed then we began barraging each other with slashes we were in stalemate then stefan exploded into my direction again but this time i squatted down and exploded upward leaving him wide open i was about to deal the finishing blow when suddenly his legs moved and his knees connected to my stomach as though i was his by high speed projectile my sword fell of my hands and the previously deflected sword of stefan falls on my traps the world faded from my vision and i lost consciousness...
I regained consciousness moments later and Zhen was yelling at me to wake up the rest of the students were watching me in disbelief but stefan was watching me in pity.
