The beast roared, releasing a heartbreaking sound born of pure pain, rage, and despair.

The caveman's muscles tensed.

The android's metallic parts screeched as the monster charged directly toward Max, destroying everything in its path.
"Dorian!" Max shouted.
The elf looked up.
"What?"
"Take Thara and get out of here!"
The beast tore a section of the wall apart with a clumsy swipe of its claws.
Debris flew everywhere.
Dorian understood immediately.
"Let's go!"
He ran toward the drow.
Thara was still clutching the notebook against her chest.
"But Max!"
"Now!"
Dorian grabbed her hand without waiting for an answer.
And began running down the hallway they had come through.
Thara looked back one last time.
Max was already moving in the opposite direction.
Standing before that monstrosity.
The beast turned its head.
Its deformed eyes locked onto Max, and it began chasing him.
"Perfect."
