Chapter 37 - Chapter 36 To Mist

Chapter 36 To Mist

Ren was lazing around with Tsunade, staring at the ceiling. "Oi, go and do something. Why are you lying there like a dead fish?" Ren asked.

Tsunade snorted. "Why don't you go and do something then?"

"Well, there is nothing to do. I'm tired of working on fuinjutsu and ninjutsu. Hinata is training with Ino and Sakura. Temari is busy with her own training. Shizune, Akari, and Karin are practicing at the safe house," Ren said, pouting.

Tsunade listened and sighed. "Well, there really isn't anything fun to do anyway."

Ren nodded, then looked at her. "How about a shopping trip to the capital?"

Tsunade waved dismissively. "Tsk, we go there practically every time to buy things."

Ren nodded again. "Then a trip to one of the Four Great Nations?"

Tsunade looked at him with irritation. "The villages are just waiting for a reason to start the Fourth Great War. You want to give them one?"

Ren sighed. "Well, not like we can do much." Then a dangerous idea formed in his mind. "Ahem… big sis."

Tsunade narrowed her eyes. "That tone of yours never promises anything good."

"Heh… how about paying a visit to the Hidden Mist? While we're at it, let's help the poor village," Ren said.

Tsunade smirked. "Your clone spy network has improved quite a bit. Since we're going, why not make it more fun?"

Both of them grinned as Ren grabbed her, and they disappeared.

---

Hinata, Ino, and Sakura suddenly shuddered. Hinata's mouth twitched. "Please tell me Ren isn't doing something stupid again."

Ino hesitated. "Umm… guys, I think Ren and Tsunade-sensei were sitting together."

Sakura slapped her forehead. "Those two are going to cause trouble, aren't they?"

Hinata activated her Byakugan. "Yeah… both of them aren't in the Senju compound."

---

On the borders of the Land of Mist, Ren and Tsunade appeared. Tsunade clapped her hands, and the surrounding trees came to life.

"Good, no Zetsu near us," Tsunade said.

Ren nodded, and both of them dashed toward the Hidden Mist. After some time, they arrived near a secret base—well, not quite secret anymore.

Tsunade and Ren casually walked in as they were surrounded by Mist shinobi. A man with an eye patch looked at them, trembling.

"Why is Konoha's Sannin walking in Mist at a time like this?" he asked.

Tsunade waved dismissively as wooden vines wrapped around every ninja. Those who tried to resist found themselves paralyzed.

Aoi noticed strange flowers blooming and releasing pollen. "Are you declaring war?"

Tsunade snorted. "I alone can level this entire village. Why would I need to declare war?"

Aoi's face turned pale. Just then, a ball of lava slammed into the trees, burning them away.

Tsunade looked at the woman approaching. "Hmm, you must be Mei Terumi."

"My, what an honor to be recognized by the legendary Tsunade Senju," Mei said. "Though I must admit, you look quite young for your age."

Tsunade ignored the jab. Mei clicked her tongue inwardly, then her eyes landed on Ren.

"Well, if it isn't Ren—the one who has three hidden villages so scared they want to eliminate you at all costs."

Ren smiled as he appeared beside her instantly. "What can I do if they fear a cute kid like me?"

Mei froze and swung her fist, but Ren had already moved beside Aoi.

Ignoring her, Ren formed hand signs and released the seal on Aoi's eye patch, removing the Byakugan.

Mei's face turned pale. She looked at the wooden vines again, her body trembling.

"Y-you also have awakened Wood Release… haven't you?"

Just imagining someone with Wood Release and FTG made her feel despair. "Hah… no wonder the villages are afraid a second God of Shinobi might appear."

"So, what do you want?" Mei asked with a sigh.

Ren grinned. "Nothing much. Just wanted to deal with the puppet Mizukage."

Mei froze. "How do you—… forget it. Why do you want to do that? Mist has nothing it can offer you."

Tsunade laughed. "Well, because we were bored."

Mei was speechless as the two walked toward the Mizukage tower. She sighed and followed them.

---

Ren glanced at her. "You know, you're the only one with two offensive Kekkei Genkai I know. Lava and Boil Release are quite terrifying if developed properly."

Mei rolled her eyes. "What can a kid like you know?"

Ren smiled. "How about trying to manifest lava in your hands instead of always using your mouth?"

Mei frowned. "Like I haven't tried."

Ren grinned. "That's because your lava transformation isn't trained enough."

He snapped his fingers, and a tree formed instantly. Mei stared, stunned.

"See? When your control reaches a high level, you can do things like this."

Mei was speechless. "Monster…" she muttered, though she couldn't help but look at Ren differently.

Tsunade gave Ren a suspicious look. Ren caught it and rolled his eyes.

---

Soon, they reached the village center, where Mist ANBU surrounded them along with the Fourth Mizukage, Yagura.

"Why are you two in Mi—"

Before he could finish, Tsunade clapped her hands. "Wood Release: Wood Golem Jutsu."

The ground trembled as a massive wooden golem rose—over a hundred meters tall. It loomed over the village as Yagura transformed, releasing the Three Tails.

Mei stared in horror. "No… the village will be destroyed!"

Ren flicked her forehead. "Oi, calm down."

Only then did she realize she was in Ren's arms. The moment the golem appeared, he had grabbed her and jumped onto its shoulder.

She quickly stepped away, face red.

Meanwhile, the wood golem grabbed the Three Tails. Tsunade, standing atop its head, clapped again.

"Wood Style: Wood Dragon Jutsu."

A massive wooden dragon formed and wrapped around the Three Tails, absorbing its chakra. Soon, the beast reverted back into an unconscious Yagura.

Ren teleported beside him and slammed his fist into the air near Yagura.

"Yo shitobi. Who do you think you are touching?"
