Carmilla was sprawled across the sofa as though she'd lost every reason to continue existing.
One leg hung over the armrest, the other stretched across the cushions, and half her hair reached the floor. She didn't look like a former Vampire Queen, much less a woman who had once made entire continents tremble at the mere mention of her name. She looked like someone who had spent hours trying to find a comfortable position and, at some point, given up and accepted her fate.
At the other end of the same sofa, Scarlet somehow managed to look even worse.
The Fox Vampire was completely upside down, her legs resting against the backrest and her hair nearly touching the floor. Her fox ears drooped, and her tails, still far from the nine she was supposed to have, lay sprawled without any energy, occupying much of the sofa like forgotten blankets.
The silence in the room had lasted several minutes when Carmilla finally spoke.
