The morning sun filtered through the glass windows of 'Apex Solutions,' but Sarah couldn't feel its warmth. Her heart was racing as she clutched a stack of files against her chest. Today was the day the new CEO was taking over, and the rumors in the office were terrifying.
"He's a monster," her colleague, Riya, whispered. "They say he fired half the staff in his previous company just because they were five minutes late."
Sarah swallowed hard. She needed this job to support her family. She couldn't afford to be on his bad side.
As she entered the elevator, a tall man in a charcoal-gray suit stepped in just before the doors closed. He was breathtakingly handsome—sharp jawline, cold obsidian eyes, and an aura that demanded respect. Sarah felt the air in the small space turn heavy.
"Floor 24," the man said, his voice deep and commandingly cold. He didn't even look at her.
"I-I'm going there too," Sarah stuttered, her fingers trembling as she pressed the button.
In her nervousness, the top file from her stack slipped and fell right onto the man's polished Italian leather shoes. Sarah gasped, quickly bending down to pick it up.
"I am so sorry! I didn't mean to—"
"Precision is the first rule of this office," the man interrupted, looking down at her with a piercing gaze. "If you can't even hold a file, how do you expect to handle my business?"
Sarah froze. "I... I'm Sarah, the senior assistant. You must be Mr. Aryan?"
