Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: The Military’s Confrontation with the Hulk

Culver University, Virginia, Lab Building.

Bruce, dressed in casual clothes, sat in front of the computer in the lab and communicated with a scientist who researched gamma radiation via chat software.

He occasionally glanced at the female teacher affectionately leaning next to him, a hint of indescribable bitterness on his lips.

Banner had unhesitatingly rejected Natasha's recruitment yesterday.

He didn't want to become that kind of monster, and Betty's father, General Ross, would never let a monster become his son-in-law.

Therefore, Banner wanted to rely on himself to solve his Hulk transformation symptoms.

As a result, perhaps God took pity on him, allowing him to reunite with his girlfriend last night.

After a long-awaited reunion, they naturally wanted to do some intimate things, but what happened? Because of its presence, they couldn't even be intimate.

How could Banner endure this? This also further solidified Banner's determination to deal with the Hulk.

"Banner, is your friend reliable?" Betty asked nervously. Her hand rested on Bruce Banner's shoulder, and her pretty face was full of tension.

Seeing Bruce Banner last night, she had been almost mad with joy.

Now she didn't want to leave his side for a moment, and she was even more afraid of losing him again. Even though Bruce Banner had become a monster, she didn't care.

"Reliable. I've been secretly in contact with him in Brazil. He specializes in gamma radiation research, and he's the only one who understands my current physical condition," Bruce Banner said. His expression was slightly excited.

"I sent him a bit of my blood serum last time, and he's now messaging me, saying he has some confidence in eliminating the gamma radiation in my body!"

"I hope it succeeds." Betty gazed at Banner with gentle eyes, equally expectant.

'Boom boom boom!'

Suddenly, a series of chaotic noises came from outside the lab window.

Betty quickly stood up and looked out. On the soft, blanket-like green lawn, armored vehicles loaded with armed soldiers rolled in, forming a siege from all directions and completely surrounding the experimental building.

At the rear of the military, leading the charge was her father, General Ross.

One after another, unknown chariots slowly drove in. General Ross sat inside one of them, looking at the campus with cold indifference in his eyes.

"You damned green monster, I will not let you be with my daughter."

Upon learning that his daughter was with Bruce, the monster's alter ego, General Ross was enraged.

As a member of one of the military families, General Ross absolutely would not allow his daughter to be with a monster. It would make him lose face.

Soldiers, one by one, raised their firearms and slowly entered the campus.

The once bustling campus became eerily silent, as if suppressed by something. All the students walked out, their eyes filled with anger as they watched the soldiers who were driving them out of school.

During this time, the television had been filled with reports of the military's barbarism. Now they were experiencing this barbarism firsthand.

They swore that once they got out, they would definitely denounce the military's barbaric actions on television. As for the monster, it was just an excuse.

It was even possible that the military had let it in themselves.

Heavy troop carriers, tanks, laser generators, and other weapons slowly entered the campus and were set up, transforming the school into a temporary battlefield.

"Banner!" Betty looked back with worry, seeing Bruce Banner's somewhat downcast face. She never expected to be separated again so soon after meeting.

Bruce Banner smiled bitterly, stood up from his seat, and said helplessly, "Betty, you need to leave quickly! I'll be very dangerous if I lose control."

"But…" Betty's face was full of worry, and she seemed about to say more.

But Bruce Banner interrupted her, saying with a bitter smile, "Don't worry, I know my situation. I've been hunted for four years, and nothing has happened. It's hard for me to even die now."

"Alright, alright, be careful. If you can't win, run quickly. I'll try my best to stop my father." Betty nodded, gave Banner a reluctant look, and then turned and ran outside.

Seeing his daughter run out of the experimental building, General Ross no longer hesitated and coldly issued an order to the soldiers, "Smoke grenades! Force it out!"

"Understood!"

Two soldiers immediately shouldered their rifles and fired smoke grenades at the building. Within seconds, the interior of the experimental building was enveloped in thick smoke.

Under everyone's tense gaze, within the white smoke behind the experimental building's floor-to-ceiling glass, a massive shadow suddenly appeared.

"Roar!"

As the monster's low roar sounded, the floor-to-ceiling windows exploded outwards from within. The Hulk, clad only in a pair of shorts, roared in fury as he leaped from the third floor onto the lawn outside!

"All soldiers, attack!"

General Ross commanded the military to begin an orderly attack, but this was useless against Hulk, the strongest creature on land.

"Hulk smash!" Hulk roared.

He charged through various shells and bullets, reaching the defensive line General Ross had built.

For Hulk, these armored vehicles and tanks were like small toys, completely unable to withstand him for even a moment.

"Oh! Although it's not the first time I've seen this big guy in action, it's still shocking. The Lizard Man before him is simply not worth mentioning in comparison.

I even wonder if this guy could smash that Lizard Man into a pulp with one punch." Natasha stood on a tall building in the distance, watching the battle on campus through military binoculars, as if watching a high-definition silent action movie.

"Heh, with this guy's strength, I reckon he could even beat a god." Ren's ferocious face appeared at Natasha's shoulder. They were extremely close, almost touching Natasha's cheek.

"God? Are there really gods in this world?!" Natasha exclaimed in surprise.

"Of course. I remember when I was drifting in the universe, I saw the Asgardian gods. The human world can only be considered one of the worlds under Asgard's rule," Ren boasted.

Natasha was very intelligent and had some knowledge of mythology. She immediately exclaimed, "Are you talking about the Nine Worlds on the World Tree?"

"More or less. It's just that Asgardians are very long-lived, and in your Earth terms, they are simply aliens. It's just that in ancient times, they descended and wiped out a group of Frost Giants, and your ancestors worshipped them as gods. Of course, the Asgardians who were drinking with your ancestors back then are probably still alive now," Ren explained to Natasha.

Natasha smiled helplessly upon hearing this.

Indeed! This world was vast, and she knew too little. However, she was no longer the Black Widow she used to be.

Now that she had Ren, what did it matter if these people were gods? As long as Ren copied Hulk's genes, she could still beat these so-called gods, or even kill them!
