Chapter 16 - Episode 7 — Lunar’s Curse on the Water Fairies

The rain battered Suncity Castle, turning the courtyards and gardens into rivers of silver. Lightning split the sky, and thunder rolled like the roar of the ocean.

Lunar stood on the marble balcony, soaked through, her silver-white hair plastered to her face. Her pale eyes glowed faintly, the subtle shimmer of her Water Fairy magic hidden beneath her hands. She clenched her fists, furious.

Lunar (thinking, furious, Water Fairy curse):"By the rivers of the Northern Land… by the frozen lakes and hidden springs… you fools! Stop this endless rain! Do you have no sense? Do you have no control?!"

She stomped the balcony stone, and a small wave of rainwater rose up, swirling angrily around her. But no matter how she tried, the rain didn't respond. The other Water Fairies — her own sisters, her own kind — were ignoring her. Their magic had gone out of her control, tangled with the storm over the city.

Lunar (thinking, muttering bitterly):"I command the waters, yet they disobey me… why won't they listen?! Are you deaf, or do you enjoy flooding humans?"

A surge of frustration ran through her. Small whirlpools formed around her feet, droplets hovering in the air, glinting like crystal, but the storm above continued to rage, heavier than ever.

Lunar (shouting silently in her mind):"By the currents of the northern seas… by the hidden frost of the waterfalls… I curse you! Listen to me, stop this madness!"

Yet her voice had no effect. Her magic, normally strong and precise, seemed… blocked, tangled, resisted by some unseen force. She pressed her hands to her temples, biting back tears of rage and helplessness.

Lunar (thinking, exhausted and bitter):"Why can't I stop them? Why must humans suffer under this rain…? I hate this… I hate it!"

Down below, Suncity Castle's guards and humans ran for cover, slipping through puddles, unaware that the storm was being caused — or at least worsened — by their unintended visitor.

Lunar's fury simmered, a mix of Water Fairy power and desperate human-sized frustration. She hated being powerless. She hated the rain. And she hated that the very creatures she should command — her own kind — refused to obey.
