Chapter 1 - Unnamed

A man floats around the screen, wearing a suit, a red tie, and a top hat with a cross on it. A cloth is wrapped tightly around his eyes. He plays a violin in a place that looks like a pink cloud... I think.

Then, the man looks at the screen and says, "Oh, I didn't see you all! It seems you are new here." He comes up to the screen and places his ear against it, as if he is listening to a voice. "Hmm... yes, yes. Oh, okay," he says.

He then moves back, takes off his top hat, and bows. "Okay, champ! My name is Asm, and I am your Overseer." He gets back up and says while dusting himself off, "You might be wondering why you are here. Well... you died!"

"Ha!" he says, as if he has unraveled a mystery. He goes closer to the screen like he is listening again, steps back, and then says, "Well, you are in Heaven. You died by my manager, named..." He lifts up a magnifying glass and a paper. "Truck-kun. Yeah, so that was his name. Anyway, the reason you can't see God is because He is busy, and now I am your Overseer."

"So, we are going to skip the long chit-chat and get to the good part," he says while carrying a long list. On the back is written: Important Rules You Should Tell Your Attendant.

"Now, listen closely. I am going to say this: you are going to be reincarnated into a world similar to yours, where there are monsters, heroes, demon lords, magic, and power systems—blah, blah, blah, who cares? Oh, and one important thing you should know: you are going to be given a syst—"

A floating board appears in front of the screen, showing:

Rank: ?

Skill: ?

Gift/Curse: ?

Strength: ?

Speed: ?

Asm then comes closer and says, "You might be wondering why you can't see your stats. Well, that's because you have to—wait, what am I saying? I am going to ruin the fun if I talk! Anyway, I don't really have much more to say, so... bye-bye!"

The screen then turns pitch black. Before you know it, we are hearing from the outside: "Push! Push! Push!" Then, everything becomes clear. The perspective looks down and sees a stomach, tiny hands, and an umbilical cord. A doctor is carrying the child and says, "It's a boy!" The "camera" moves, and we finally see the male lead.

The mom, with a painful yet joyful expression, carries the child with joy, happily kissing him. Then she says, "You are going to be named Diago."

Author's Note

(I am sorry if this is so short! This is an experimental project, so chapters will only be about 400 to 500 words long. If you want a longer read, please check out my other book, "A Villain's Perspective," which has 24 chapters. I am not giving up on that book either; I just need a break from writing 1,000-word updates. I will be starting fully again in April, so thanks for supporting me and have a good day/night!)
