Chapter 43 - “Private Moments Before Forever”

The morning of the wedding arrived softly, sunlight spilling through the windows like a gentle promise. Anna woke early, taking a quiet moment alone. She ran her fingers over her gown hanging nearby, tracing the delicate lace. Her heart fluttered — excitement, nerves, and happiness all tangled together.

A soft knock at the door made her jump. It was Oliver, holding a small tray with tea and pastries.

"Morning," he said softly, smiling. "Thought you might need some fuel before the chaos begins."

Anna laughed quietly. "You're always thinking of me."

He stepped closer, lowering his voice. "I've been waiting for this day for ten years. And now… I just want a few minutes… just us."

They sat together on the edge of the bed, hands entwined. The world outside — parents, wedding planners, cameras — didn't exist for these few moments.

"You remember our first stolen moment together?" Anna asked softly.

Oliver smiled, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "In the school corridor? You were annoyed at me, but secretly… I think you liked it."

Anna rolled her eyes playfully. "You're impossible."

"But I'm yours," he whispered, leaning closer.

She shivered slightly as he tucked a loose hair behind her ear, his fingers lingering on her cheek. "I still can't believe this is happening," she admitted, voice low.

"It's real," he replied. "And it's ours."

Oliver pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead. Then, slowly, he leaned in closer. Their lips met softly — a tender, lingering kiss filled with all the emotions words couldn't hold: years of longing, quiet moments during exams, stolen glances in hallways, and the unwavering promise of forever.

Anna's hands rested on his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart. "I'm so glad it's you," she whispered.

"Always you," he said, brushing his nose against hers playfully.

They laughed quietly, leaning into each other as the soft morning light wrapped around them. Every touch, every glance, every whispered word felt like a secret the world didn't deserve to hear — their own little universe before the storm of the wedding day.

Later, as Anna prepared to meet her family and guests, Oliver held her hand one last time. "Whatever happens today," he murmured, "remember these moments. Just us. Always."

Anna smiled, squeezing his hand. "I will. And when we walk down the aisle… we'll be stronger than ever."

He leaned in, kissing her again, this time more playful, brushing his lips across hers in a soft, teasing way that made her giggle.

In those private, fleeting moments, they didn't need vows or celebrations. They had each other, and that was everything. 💙✨
