Chapter 41 - “The Dress Fitting”

Anna arrived at the bridal boutique, her heart fluttering with a mix of excitement and nerves. Today was the final fitting for her wedding gown, and she wanted everything to be perfect.

Emily and Sophia were already there, chatting excitedly.

"Anna, you're going to look like a queen!" Emily exclaimed, pulling out a delicate veil.

Sophia nodded in agreement. "I can't wait to see Oliver's face when he sees you. He's going to melt."

Anna smiled softly. "Let's hope it all fits as perfectly as we imagined."

The designer brought out the gown — ivory with intricate lace detailing, flowing elegantly to the floor. Anna slipped into it carefully, the fabric hugging her in all the right places. She twirled slightly in front of the mirror, mesmerized.

"You look… breathtaking," Emily whispered.

"Too beautiful," Sophia added, eyes shining.

Anna laughed quietly, hiding her blush. But as she turned, she noticed Oliver standing at the doorway. He hadn't been expected to come.

"Oliver!" she exclaimed, slightly flustered.

He smiled warmly. "I thought I'd see my bride before the big day."

"Quiet," she whispered, motioning for him to sneak in. "Don't scare the designer."

He laughed softly and walked over, his eyes locked on hers. "I can't help it. You look incredible."

Anna's cheeks warmed. "Thank you… but you're biased."

"I'm not biased," he teased, leaning closer. "I've just… seen the most beautiful woman in my life."

Just then, one of the boutique assistants stepped forward. "Anna, the measurements on this side seem slightly off. We need to adjust the waist and the sleeve length."

Anna frowned. "Really? I thought we had done everything perfectly."

Oliver took her hand gently. "It's okay. Small adjustments. Nothing to worry about."

Anna tried to smile, but a twinge of frustration bubbled up. "I just… I wanted everything perfect. For him, for the day… for us."

Oliver cupped her face softly. "Perfect is already here," he whispered. "It's you."

Her frustration melted. She leaned into him, letting herself relax.

Later, as the designer pinned the final adjustments, Emily whispered to Sophia, "Look at them. Even small stress can't touch them."

Sophia smiled knowingly. "They're stronger together than anything else in the world."

Anna and Oliver shared a quiet moment at the end of the fitting. He brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, then kissed her softly — a promise, a reassurance, a reminder that no dress, no detail, no minor worry could ever compete with the love they shared.

"Ready for the big day?" he murmured.

Anna nodded, her eyes shining. "With you, always."

And for the first time in the flurry of pre-wedding preparations, she felt completely at peace. Their love, steady and unshakable, was ready to face everything — the wedding, the celebrations, and even the shadows of rivalry that still lingered.
