A scowl was dead set on my face as I stared at that bitch I met earlier today curl my hair with the curling iron. I did not know she was a staff of Elsmore, I thought she was from Elixir. I didn't know she came with the King. Much to my dismay, the King brought her into the bedroom some minutes ago, declaring her as my private hand maiden. I wanted to smack her and him in the face.
After curling the last strand of my hair into perfection, she set aside the curling iron and readjusted my curls with her hand. Her eyes met mine in the mirror and she smiled.
"You have beautiful hair your majesty. I'm amazed at the length of it."
I gave her no reply as I continued to stare at her reflection in the mirror, holding eye contact with her.
"I'll be right back with your dress, your majesty." She said softly and exited the room.
Immediately she left the room, I scoffed. I didn't know why I had a grudge against her, I just did. I picked up my phone, which I had thankfully retrieved from my bag when Anna as I now know her to be, brought my luggage up to our room. Finally, I can now use my phone as I wanted, I'm now married after all.
I was in a bathrobe, my makeup and hair done as I scrolled through my social media. I knew what to expect, our Royal marriage was trending worldwide on the media. Pictures of me and his Majesty filled the internet. I looked so uncomfortable in that stupid dress but who cares?, as long as I looked beautiful to them.
The news was basically everywhere, but what could I expect?. Elsmore was the most powerful and largest kingdom, Elixir following right after. So having the King of Elsmore and the princess of Elixir married was a huge deal. I hope my mother's happy now.
My train of thought was broken when Anna walked back in with a strolling hanger which held about five different white dresses.
"Since it's still your wedding day, you've been required to wear white dress as a sign of purity."
Purity.
I hated that word, it made my skin crawl Everytime. Anger, guilt, remorse, fear.
Fear of what the king would think of me. That thought alone immediately made me a nervous wreck.
"Your highness?."
I snapped out of my thoughts and stared at Anna.
"Hmm?".
"Is there anything wrong?, You're sweating."
"I'm fine." I snapped.
I sighed internally as I realized I was being rude without reason, I know she's just concerned but I can't help but feel angry right now.
"Alright, you've been provided with five choices. You do not have to worry, all of them are your size so you can pick anyone you like." She stated.
If anything, she wasn't fazed by my anger, or me to be precise. We made eye contact and she held my gaze longer than she should before she gave me a small smile and stepped back, gesturing at me to take a look at the dresses. I narrowed my eyes at her and stood up, I'll deal with her later.
I inspected the dresses and the first one I saw made my blood boil. My face scrunched up to an ugly frown as I tugged the dress off the hanger and showed it to Anna.
"What the fuck is this?! " I snapped.
"A dress, your majesty. And please, do mind your language."
"And who the fuck do you think you are to tell me what to do?."
"As a queen I believe you need no one to tell you what's right from what's not." She replied with a smile and that only irked me more. I hanged the dress back aggressively and stomped towards her. We stood at the same height and that pissed me off.
"How old are you Anna?"
"21 your majesty."
I stalled for a moment, we're the same age?. Zion really put so much thought into this huh?. But I won't let that have a hold over me. never.
"What month?." I knew I was being silly, but I couldn't help it.
"September." She replied with a raised brow, clearly amused.
"That makes me five months older than you so you better respect me and stop telling me what to do." I retorted.
"Of course your majes-"
"STOP SMILING!" I snapped.
"It is very rude to talk to superiors without a smile and you know that."
Could this bitch get any more annoying?. I'm literally loosing my mind. I rolled my eyes and walked away from her, inspecting the dresses once more and picking out the one that looked like it wouldn't choke me to death. I turned and glared at her.
"Turn the fuck around, or are you going to stand there and be a pervert?" I snapped.
She turned around with a sigh and I could hear her mumbling some incoherent words under her breath. I didn't give a damn as I was hell bent on putting the dress on me. After some minutes, I was done, although it looked like I had just finished running a marathon, I refused to be helped by that smiling clown.
"I'm done."
She turned around and looked at me, eyes taking me in only for a few seconds before smiling. "The dress looks wonderful on you your highness." She complimented.
I rolled my eyes and turned to look at the mirror. My eyes were blank as I stared back at myself through the mirror. The dress was a simple mermaid gown, white beads decorated the slanted hemline, and also slanted down from my right waist to my left hip.
It's snugged firmly to my waist and hugged my hips tightly, the rest cascading down to the floor.
Honestly after, being on ridiculous diets and doing numerous sets of exercises so as to get the perfect shape like my mother wanted. I no longer looked at myself in the mirror and think beautiful. To me It was rather....an achievement.
I sighed and slipped into the silver heels Anna placed by my feet and stood still as she placed a set of jewelry around my neck and on my ears.
"You're all set your highness." Anna said as she rearranged the curls of my hair.
"Good, let's go. I don't want to be late."
I let her lead me to the place where the gathering will be occuring and I mentally calmed myself for what's yet to come.
