"8 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 steals, 4 blocks, 3 turnovers, 2 free throws, and 1 three-pointer?!"
The moment Mike Breen read out the stat line, Jeff Van Gundy burst out laughing in disbelief. He repeated it, then asked with a grin,
"Is that actually real?!"
"Hahaha!"
Mike Breen couldn't hold back either.
"It's real. Blake Su really put up that bizarre but fascinating stat line of 8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1 in just one half.
Honestly, I can barely believe it myself."
"Heh!"
"That's incredible!"
Jeff Van Gundy shook his head, still laughing.
"For most players, something like this would be impossible. But for Blake Su...
It's possible.
It makes sense!"
"Heh…"
Mike Breen chuckled along, but inwardly thought, That's a bit much. Without some serious luck, no one's putting up numbers like that. What does that have to do with it being Blake Su?
In the arena, many fans had also noticed the stat line and were just as stunned.
"No way, 8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1?!"
"You've got to be kidding. Who would even believe Blake Su could put up something that insane?!"
"It's real!"
"That's just how crazy it is!"
"Sorry, but God Su always pulls off miracles. A perfectly ascending stat line like that? Never seen before, never again!"
"So he basically set a record without even realizing it?!"
"What else would it be?"
"Man... that's ridiculous. Straight-up ridiculous!"
At halftime, both Suns and Nuggets fans were buzzing, all caught up in the shock and discussion over Blake Su's bizarre stat line.
Amid the chatter...
Halftime soon ended, and the second half began.
Blake Su stepped onto the court, fully focused. While the fans were fixated on the strange stat line, he was paying attention too, just with a different priority.
"8 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 steals, 4 blocks. I'm halfway there on scoring. The best path to a 'near quadruple-double' now is 1 rebound, 2 assists, and 3 steals.
Once I get those...
I'll secure the 'near quadruple-double.' After that, if I push my scoring to 30 and win the game, I'll complete the random mission.
And I'll get [Jordan's Post-Up Ability].
There's still two full quarters left. I've got a real shot at this tonight."
At the thought of [Jordan's Post-Up Ability], a fierce spark ignited in Blake Su's eyes. He had been eyeing this ability for a long time.
No guarantees.
But he would give everything he had to get it.
As that thought lingered, the third quarter began. The Nuggets, up by 4, had possession. Anthony brought the ball up against Carter.
One quick step.
"Swish!"
He pulled up for a jumper right in Carter's face. But Carter contested hard.
"Clang!"
Missed.
Rebound?!
"Whoosh!"
Blake Su, fired up, charged into the paint, battling Nene. In the end, Frye secured the rebound and kicked it out to Nash.
"Whoosh!"
Go!
The Suns pushed the fast break.
At the left wing, Nash immediately swung it to the right corner. Curry was already there. Catch and shoot.
"Clang!"
Missed.
But Curry knew it the moment it left his hands. He had already cut toward the rim. Perfect positioning. The ball bounced right to him.
However, Billups and Martin were guarding the paint.
"Whoosh!"
Curry pulled it back out to Blake Su at the top. Was he going to shoot?
No.
As Martin lunged at him, Blake Su dished it back inside. Curry caught it again, completely unguarded this time, and banked it in.
But—
"Swish!"
On the other end, Billups drilled a three. Then on the next Suns possession, he stripped Nash clean.
Another three coming?
No.
"Smack!"
Blake Su appeared like a phantom from the wing, striking fast and clean to steal it right back from Billups, then immediately fired a long pass.
To Frye under the basket.
"Swish!"
Easy finish off the glass.
Nuggets ball.
Anthony brought it up, posting up Curry on a mismatch. One strong bump, turnaround jumper.
Miss.
Nene grabbed the rebound.
He kicked it out to Billups for a mid-range shot.
"Clang!"
Still no good.
Rebound?!
Frye and Nene fought for it, but Blake Su, holding down the paint, came away with it and instantly launched another long pass.
Ahead to Curry.
But the pass came up short and was intercepted by Anthony at midcourt. He immediately pushed the fast break.
"Step!"
Blake Su rotated over to defend.
"Swish!"
Anthony crossed over and exploded forward, blowing past him in an instant. But Blake Su remained calm.
The moment Anthony slipped by, his eyes sharpened.
[Eagle Spear]!
"Smack!"
From behind, he stripped the ball clean.
The crowd erupted.
Blake Su grabbed it and pushed the break himself, facing Martin and Afflalo.
"Whoosh!"
He kicked it to Curry cutting inside. Catch, gather, floater in the paint.
"Swish!"
Good.
Transition again.
Nene held the ball at the top, orchestrating. Anthony and Billups moved off-ball on both sides, while Afflalo set a screen.
"Thud!"
Carter got caught on Anthony.
"Now."
Nene fired the pass.
But Blake Su had already read it.
The moment the ball left Nene's hands, he burst forward.
"Smack!"
Interception.
Clean.
He took off downcourt alone.
One-on-zero fast break.
"Boom!"
From just inside the free-throw line, Blake Su soared and hammered it home.
He hung briefly on the rim before dropping down, arms shaking, fired up.
The crowd roared, thinking it was just the momentum from the steal and dunk.
But they didn't know.
Blake Su's excitement came from something else entirely.
He had just secured a "near quadruple-double."
