English: [ Harem In The Labyrinth Of Another World ]

Japanese: [ 異世界迷宮でハーレムを

(Isekai Meikyū de Hāremu o) ]

---<>---

[ Time / Location ]: Early-morning / Horse stable in Somara village.

[ Pov ]: Theo Mercer.

While I was peacefully checking out my chiseled abs, there was a racket going on outside.

When the noise finally reached me, I heard the sounds of screaming and calling out in a language I didn't understand.

I didn't need to look outside to know what was happening, the village was being attacked by bandits, how did I know that... Simple, I read the Manga/light novel way too many times to forget an event like this.

Peaking my head outside the stable, I confirmed my thoughts. There was a band of bandits running on the main round heading straight for the villagers that were arming themselves.

" *Inhale* *Exhale*... Okay, okay. You can do this, this is your first and most important fight in this new world. " I said, trying to hype myself for what is to come.

I had to fight those bandits and kill them... Something that I have to get used to in this world.

Plus, it's the norm in this world to kill bandits on sight if identified. They have no social standing whatsoever in this world, they are looked at like demons to be exterminated for good, a view that I wholeheartedly believe in.

" *Sigh* I got this... If I'm really gonna do this, might as well take advantage of the opportunity to level up, let's see. " I said, feeling my hands steadying.

By taking advantage, I meant unlocking the bonus skills that bolstered my Exp gain.

Each skill cost me 63 bonus points to unlock till the sixth level. An absurd fact about these multipliers is they can be stacked, that would mean at the current 40x and 1/40x exp, I could level up a freaking 1600x times faster.

Focusing on the leveling part of what I was gonna do, I tightly gripped Durandal in my right hand and strode outside of the stable.

I wasn't like the MC who had experience in fighting with a sword, I did know how to use a bat so that might help.

" Guess it has started already... No more hesitation *Huff*. " I said, looking at the bandits having the advantage in the fight against the villagers.

Planting my left foot on the ground, I exploded in a fast Sprint. " Woah! "

I almost lost my balance from the speed I had, but my high Dexterity came in clutch and allowed me to adjust pretty fast.

My first two targets were two level 5 bandits ganning up on a level 7 villager. One was locked in a sword struggle with the villager while the other one was winding up for a downward slash straight for that villagers head.

" I don't think so buddy. " The moment i reached him, I unceremonally cleaved him in half at his midsection, feeling no resistance whatsoever.

" Huh! " Is all his bandit friend could say before he was served a sword thrust to the face.

When I pulled out my sword, I could vaguely feel the texture of flesh and Bones through the sword making me a bit nauseous.

' NO!... FOCUS!. ' Quickly steeling myself and gritting my teeth, I looked around searching for their leader using Analysis.

I saw him on the ground grappling with a level 25 villager, he had the villager's sword locked in his left hand and was preparing to thrust his sword under the leather armor of the villager. " Not on my watch, bitch. "

One step and I practically teleported to his side, aiming for his exposed neck I easily decapitated him.

This time the blood splashed on face and chest, completely ruining my gray hoodie. " Ugh, disgusting. "

The moment the leader was dead, the rest of the bandits lost their momentum. The one with the highest level after the leader, lv 19 bandit started giving commands for retreat. " Xxx, xxx xxx! "

But I wasn't about to chase some rat scum, I cut of their exit rout and started culling them one by one in the matter of seconds.

The last one knelt to the ground and started to beg for his life, speaking rapidly and desperately.

" Hahaha, you were ready to kill and pillage these people. Now that the tables have turned, you're like this? At least try fighting for your life. " Seeing me talking to him and not attacking, he thought I was sparing him and started smiling and bowing.

" *Sigh*... Goodbye, be a good person in you next life. " Tired from his antics, I killed him with a thrust to the neck.

*Huff*... *Huff*...

Although I didn't get tired, I felt out of breath. The adrenaline that was coursing through my veins finally dissipated, making me come face to face with what I had done.

I was a normal college student a couple of minutes ago, now I had killed people I've never even met before... No, not people, demons.

Looking at the carnage I made, I kept breathing deeply to set my nerves at ease. The sickening feeling in my stomach still there.

It wasn't long before the village chief approached me and tried to talk to me. " Xxx, xxx xxxx xx xxx. "

I couldn't understand a word he was saying, I conveyed that by tilting my head in confusion. " Hmm? "

" Hmm, ahh! Do you perhaps speak Brahim sir adventure? " He thought for a moment and asked, that language I could understand.

It was weird, I thought it would sound like English like the case of the MC of the manga when he thought they were speaking Japanese.

But it sounded nothing like Japanese, it sounded like an Aramaic language, like Arabic for example. Another surprise was the fact that when I heard it, I felt like I had always known and talked in that language.

Like a memory clicking in place. " Uh, yeah I speak Brahim. And no, I'm not an Adventure, just a high level explorer. " I said, answering his question.

" I see... Still, I must thank you for saving the village and it's people in our hour of need. " The village chief said in a respectful manner, bowing his head to me in gratitude.

Looking at his respectful gesture, I quickly mumbled out. " Uh- yeah, no need for all that. It was the right thing to do. "

I wasn't the best at interacting with people, what did you expect from someone who reads manga/light novels religiously.

Hearing my reply, the village chief somehow looked at me with more respect, his old eyes almost shining. " I would like to reward you with what little that we have as a sign of gratitude, sir great explorer. "

Taking a page from Michio's ( the manga's MC ) book, I asked the village chief for accommodation. " Sure, I'd appreciate it if you could spare a room for me to rest for the day. And my name is Theo. "

" Than please stay at my house sir Theo, my name is Somara and I'm the village chief. " Somara said and bowed a third a time.

" Please follow me. " He said, proceeding to lead me to his house.

While we were walking we exchanged some information, I found out that even with my intervention there was still some that were hurt and an unfortunate death.

Leaving the massacre behind, the villagers were giving respectful looks to show their gratitude, some tried to say thank you but I couldn't understand their language.

Before reaching the village chief's house though, we were intercepted by the level 25 villager that I had saved from the bandit leader, accompanying him was his blond young wife who had red watery eyes, a sign that she was crying not long ago.

" Hello benefactor, I'm the one you saved from that bandit. My name's Adolf and this here is my wife Tirihi, I'd like to formally thank you for not only saving my life but for sparing my wife from being a widow. " He said, he and his wife bowing to me in gratitude.

" Hmm, no worries. Just like I said to the village chief before, it was the right thing to do, anyone in my position would have done the same. I'd like to speak more but I'm quite tired so... " I accepted their gratitude and quickly thought of an excuse to end the conversation.

I already interacted with one too many people today. Adding the pressure of taking the lives of many bandits, I desperately needed some alone time.

" Of course, we understand. Thank you again and please do have a nice rest. " After thanking me again Adolf and his wife went their way.

" Sir Theo. This way please. " Said Somara, leading me to his house.

" Yeah... " I absent mindedly said, my thoughts in a different place.

---<>---

I was currently sitting against the wall of the room the village chief provided for me, I had changed my clothes to the ones that he had given me.

At first, he offered me the same ones shown in the manga but they didn't quite fit, they were too small for me.

The second set did fit though, it was a simple black pants with a brown linen looking shirt.

My hoodie and pants were put into a bag, I didn't trust him to wash them honestly, even though he offered.

I did embarrass myself by getting my head struck by the door frame, one disadvantage of being tall.

" Now to see what sort of other bonus skills I can unlock, I'll leave the bonus spells for when I go to the town. " I said, feeling giddy before even seeing any skills. It was an effective way to get my mind off of what happened a few minutes ago.

' Character Rest. ' I mentally called out the skill that let me redistribute my bonus points as I wanted.

And just like that, the interface for character settings popped up.

I had 198 bonus points to spend as I want. Selecting the bonus Skills section, I took a good look at the vast list laid before me.

Doing a quick mental calculation that took way longer than I thought, I found out the number of BP I needed to unlock these current skills. " *Ouff*... Even with my lucky gamble I'm still short on even unlocking half of these skills... Guess I have to remove some from the attributes. "

The number of Bonus points I needed to fully unlock these current skills amounted to a staggering 449 points, an impossiblty with my left out 198 points.

Making up my mind, I took out points from 4 different attributes, 69 BP each.

I took from the physical attributes: Strength Agility, Dexterity, Endurance.

Leaving them with 30 points each.

As for the other attributes, those are too precious to deduct from.

Seeing as my current free BP went up to 474. I processed to Quickly spending it on quickly unlocking the skills incase I changed my mind.

I was left with a measly 25 BP to look at. " Ugh, so annoying. All my bonus points disappeared... Just like that, *sigh* at least I'll Gain more in the future when leveling up... Speaking about leveling up, I did Gain some extra bonus points but I don't know how many exactly. Let's see. "

Mentally analysing my self to see my status, I was astonished at what I was seeing.

" Bruh... This looks so fake, and the level-up speed is uncanny, and just like from the manga, I got the Hero job. Thank God... No, ROB-intern for letting me reincarnate with this many bonus points. " I said, giving him a short prayer of gratitude.

{ You're welcome }

" Hmm? I could have sworn I heard someone. " I said, looking around the room. ' Was it hi- '

Knock. Knock.

The sound of someone knocking interrupted my thoughts, thinking it's the village chief I asked. " Yes? "

" May I come in? Have you finished yet? " Somara asked.

Shelving my thoughts to a later time, I answered. " Come in, I'm done. "

" Pardon me sir Theo, would you be willing to accompany me to the shed? " He asked me with his respectful way of talking, hands clamped together.

' Ugh, it sounds so wrong. Especially if the context is about... Not so descent things. ' A stray thought ingrained itself in my head, making a puke worthy image.

Shaking my head from that image, I thought. ' What he's talking about should be the equipment removed from the dead bandits, wonder if that guy will still steal the Bandit bandana. '

" It's fine, lead the way. " I said, getting up from the ground.

---<>---

[ Time / Location ]: Mid-day / Shed.

[ Pov ]: Theo Mercer.

' Yup, that guy has balls of steel. I bet he's banking on the thought that I'm not a merchant and I couldn't possibly tell that the bandit bandana was swapped. ' I thought, giving the bandana on the loot pile a sour look.

Seeing my reaction, the village chief got worried and asked. " What is it sir, is anything wrong. "

Without sugar coating it, I told him what made me look so serious. " This isn't the same equipment, the leader of the bandits was wearing a bandit bandana. "

The moment he heard my answer, his face went pale. He quickly turned around and called for some people in an urgent manner. " This can't be, xxxx xx xxx! "

After a couple of minutes, the matter was resolved. And just like in the manga, it was the same guy who had stolen the bandana.

" Here's your equipment sir... Uh- as for the culprit, his punishment would be? " He anxiously asked after giving me the bandana, hoping I wouldn't give a harsh punishment.

But just like Michio, I chose to let the village deal with his punishment. Hence he would become a slave and be sold, his family taking half the profit.

" As you wish. " He dejectedly said.

Looking at the village chief's troubled face, I thought. ' What did he expect me to do, slap him on the wrist and call it a day, huh. Still, I can't imagine turning your own villagers into slaves. '

I felt both annoyance and empathy at village chief's predicament.

Once he was done with branding the guy as a slave, he gave me these glass looking cards and said. " Here, these are the bandits intelligence cards. "

I nodded in thanks.

" Excuse me, but aren't you going to store the equipment in your item box. " Somara asked, probably thinking I had space because I stored my sword.

I did remove Durandal cause I was testing how fast I can manifest it form the character settings.

" Hmmm, unfortunately not. Speaking about merchandise, you said before that there was a merchant named Bikka here right? Can he buy this equipment? " I already knew that the merchant wouldn't buy my loot, I was just leading him on to quickly tell me if the merchant was going to head to the town like Canon or not.

" Ah, you remembered. No, unfortunately he doesn't buy or sell explorer equipment. He is heading to the nearest town of Vale, I'll ask him to take you with when he goes. "

" Thank you for that. "

" It's the least I can do, breakfast is almost ready, would you care to join us sir Theo. " He asked with a smile.

" I would be a fool if I refused a free meal, thanks in advance. " I said, my stomach was already growling at me. Some rustic food will do the trick.

To be continued...
