Chapter 78 - Chapter 78 ▻ Tsunade Secured

Soon, a small patch of forest — nearly a hundred large trees — was devoured.

Mizuki's lifespan surged straight to a thousand years. A violent, overflowing life force roared through his body like a tide, heavy and inexhaustible.

He casually pulled out a kunai and drew it across his forearm. The cut was deep — deep enough to split flesh and expose pale bone — yet before the blood could even drip twice, the wound had already knit itself shut.

Less than three seconds.

"So this is what it feels like… the shamelessness of Hashirama's Sage Body." Mizuki chuckled.

That overwhelming regeneration and recovery — those were exactly the traits of a "Sage Body".

In truth, he didn't actually possess a Sage Body. But the massive amount of life force accumulated inside him granted him the same properties — an imitation so convincing it might as well have been real.

Now he could mess around as much as he wanted!

His only weakness was his heart. As long as his heart wasn't destroyed, he couldn't die. Because all the life force he devoured was stored in his heart.

"Too bad — even though I have a weakness, my enemies can never make use of it."

The secret technique Heaven Grudge Fear granted him the ability to liquefy. He could liquefy his whole body, or only parts of it. So as long as he liquefied his heart, he could become immune to all physical damage.

Even if a blade pierced straight through him, it wouldn't matter. Unsolvable.

"Now that Heaven Grudge Fear is mastered, I no longer have to fear the backlash of Samsara of Heavenly Life draining my own life. Next is chakra."

Casting this technique required an enormous amount of chakra.

The stronger the person being revived, the more life force and chakra it consumed. The longer the person had been dead, the more life force and chakra it consumed.

Life force wasn't the issue. As long as he didn't revive too many people at once, he basically wouldn't fail at the last moment. What he lacked was chakra.

With his current 54.8 Ka chakra reserves, reviving someone who had just died was no problem. But reviving someone like Nawaki or Dan — dead for over twenty years — was far from enough. So he needed more chakra.

The fastest way to increase chakra — none other than Takigakure's Hero Water.

"Then I'll make a trip to Takigakure."

The Hero Water could increase a ninja's chakra by dozens of times after drinking it, but it consumed life force — so it was called "Hero Water". Because anyone who drank it would eventually become a hero.

Even though there were side effects, Mizuki didn't care. He planned to get it and give it to his disciple to farm a system return. As for the side effects — he would just tell the disciple not to drink it.

"Before I go to Takigakure, I'll pull Tsunade into Fushigakure."

Mizuki left Fushigakure and found Tsunade at a casino in the Land of Birds' capital.

"Can you revive Nawaki and Dan now?" Tsunade asked him expectantly. There was impatience in her voice, but more than that — fear of being disappointed.

Mizuki replied, "Not yet. They've been dead too long, so the conditions are harder. Today I'm here to demonstrate how reviving the dead works, so you can have some peace of mind."

Tsunade asked, "How will you demonstrate?"

"Simple. Come with me."

Mizuki walked in front, Tsunade followed behind.

They walked down the street, and soon he stopped at the entrance of a house. An old mother had died in this household, and they were holding a funeral. She had died yesterday. The body was already completely cold.

When Mizuki arrived, the family hurried out to welcome him. The man of the house stepped forward, looking both honored and startled, unsure whether to bow or to block the doorway.

"Lord First Fushikage, welcome to my mother's funeral. Please come in."

When Fushigakure was founded, many people of the Land of Birds had come to visit. So many recognized Mizuki, including this man.

Mizuki smiled, "I'm not here for the funeral. I'm here to save your mother."

The man stiffened, "Um… Lord First Fushikage, my mother is already dead!"

Mizuki: "I know."

The people nearby looked strange.

You know? You know my ass. She's dead and you say you'll save her — how can you save a dead person?

"Enough. Just take me inside and you'll see."

In the mourning hall, the corpse lay in a coffin.

"Do we need to open the coffin for you to check?" Mizuki turned back and asked Tsunade.

Tsunade shook her head, "No. There's a corpse in the coffin. As a medical ninja, at this close range I can still tell a living person from a dead one."

Mizuki nodded. No more words. He got straight to it.

Gedō — Rinne Tensei no Jutsu ▻ Outer Path — Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique

As the words fell, a violent chakra fluctuation erupted from Mizuki. It wasn't just chakra — it was an authority that pressed down on the air itself.

Tsunade's eyes stayed fixed on the coffin.

At this very moment, a green glow had risen around it. Within that green light, she could sense the power of life — dense, pure, and undeniable.

The guests at the funeral fled in terror. Even the dead woman's children stared trembling at the coffin bathed in green.

When the green light vanished, Tsunade could clearly sense it: the corpse inside had come back to life.

"W-where am I… Shunsuke… Shunsuke…"

A voice came from inside the coffin.

The man of the house — named Shunsuke — was already shaking so badly his legs could barely hold him.

"M-mom… Mom is… resurrected…"

Mizuki said to him, "This isn't a corpse reanimating. Your mother has been revived with my ninjutsu. Open the coffin — don't let her suffocate inside."

"R-really?" Shunsuke still looked terrified.

Mizuki shook his head and walked over, lifting the coffin lid with one hand. Inside was a woman with black hair, looking around fifty.

Shunsuke was already over fifty, his temples gray — yet his mother looked this young?

That was intentional. Along with reviving her, Mizuki also gifted her twenty extra years of lifespan.

After the family thanked him profusely, Mizuki and Tsunade left.

"Well?" Mizuki asked.

Tsunade's clenched fists and tense posture had relaxed. From the moment they left the casino, she had been nervous. Only after seeing the old woman revived did that tension fade.

"I believe you. I'm willing to join Fushigakure."

Mizuki smiled.

With Tsunade joining, Shizune would join too — and so would Tonton. Fushigakure expanded from nine people to eleven… plus one pig.

Bigger again. The future was bright.

Then Tsunade said, "There's something I have to tell you in advance."

Mizuki asked, "What is it?"

Tsunade said, "I have hemophobia. I can't fight. So even if I join Fushigakure, I can't provide any useful value to the village."

Mizuki smiled, "May I ask why you developed hemophobia?"

Tsunade fell silent for a moment, "Back then… I saw Dan covered in blood, and I couldn't save him…"

Mizuki said, "Since your hemophobia was caused by Dan's death, then once Dan is revived, your hemophobia will naturally disappear."

Tsunade's eyes filled with hope, "Maybe…"

After that, she found Shizune and explained everything. Then she came with Mizuki to Fushigakure.

Mizuki gathered everyone. Before everyone's eyes, he announced that one of the Three Sannin — Lady Tsunade — had officially joined Fushigakure.

"Big sis — so you're a ninja too! Now you've joined Fushigakure too. That's great!" Naruto was very happy.

At that moment, Zabuza said, "Lord Fushikage, as far as I know, one of Konoha's Three Sannin — Lady Tsunade — became famous in the Second Shinobi War. She should be at least in her fifties. But this woman looks like she's only in her twenties. How could she be Lady Tsunade? Lord Fushikage, you've been deceived!"

Mizuki glanced at Tsunade and couldn't help coughing twice.

"Ahem. Yes, she is indeed one of the Sannin, Lady Tsunade. As for her age… hehe. You can't judge people by their appearance. Ahem."

Zabuza gasped, "Then she really is Lady Tsunade? But why does someone over fifty look so young? Is it a transformation technique?"

Tsunade's anger began rising.

"Enough."

Bang!

She stamped her foot. The ground split instantly, and a crack several meters deep shot forward to Zabuza's feet.

Zabuza, unprepared, fell straight into it.

"Mr. Zabuza!" Haku cried out.

"S-so scary!"

Everyone's eyes widened. A cold chill crawled up their backs.

After his initial shock, Naruto pouted, "Tch. She's obviously a grandma in her fifties, using a transformation to act young."

Tsunade turned to him, killing intent in her eyes, "You want to challenge me too?"

Naruto laughed, "Granny! Granny! Granny…! You're so old, and you still won't admit it. Aren't you embarrassed?"

"Naruto!" Tsunade's chakra flared. Even the twin ponytails behind her head floated.

She was truly furious.

"S-so scary, Granny — I'm out!" Naruto yelped.

In the next instant, his body vanished from where he stood.

"Huh?" Tsunade was startled.

She didn't see how he disappeared.

Not only her — everyone present except Mizuki had no idea how Naruto vanished.

Sasuke murmured, "Body Flicker?"

He activated his two-tomoe Sharingan and scanned the surroundings. But there was no sign of Naruto within his field of vision.

Tsunade looked at Mizuki and confirmed, "Flying Thunder God?"

Mizuki nodded slightly.

Zabuza climbed out of the crack. Hearing the words "Flying Thunder God", he cried out again.

"The Fourth Hokage's signature space-time ninjutsu… Flying Thunder God?!"

Sasuke's eyes sharpened. He looked at the spot where Naruto had been standing, fierce determination burning in his eyes.

Naruto… you learned space-time ninjutsu before me.

No. I will absolutely not lose.

"Mizuki-sensei, I'm going to train!" Sasuke left as soon as he spoke.

He was provoked by Naruto.

Soon everyone dispersed, and Mizuki prepared to head to Takigakure.

"I'll revive Nawaki and Dan as soon as possible. Also, I'll pay off all of your external debts. And any money you lose gambling in the future — you can come to me for reimbursement."

Tsunade: "My external debts are over five hundred million. You can't pay that."

Mizuki smiled, "Five or six hundred million? That's nothing!"

Is that something a human says? "Five or six hundred million, nothing" — even a Daimyō wouldn't dare be that arrogant.

After settling Tsunade and Shizune, Mizuki left Fushigakure.

Between the Land of Waterfall and the Land of Birds lay the Land of Rain and the Land of Grass — not far.

Mizuki flew alone. In under three hours, he reached the Land of Waterfall.

Following Kakuzu's memories, he found the entrance to Takigakure. A huge, magnificent waterfall. From afar, he could already see combat unfolding before the falls.

One side was Takigakure ninja. The other side were two Akatsuki members wearing black cloaks with red clouds.

"Art is an explosion! Ha!"
