Rota was a remote town located north of Mt. Moon and Pewter City. The entire town was designed in a medieval style. It was not a very famous place.
Damian had abducted Erika once again. The two of them arrived in Rota.
Erika was wearing a casual dress. She gave a graceful bow to Caitlin, who was waiting at the entrance of Rota. She was very gentle and friendly. "Miss Caitlin, it has been a long time."
When she had served as the maid for Damian, she had been startled by Caitlin several times. This happened when she came out of Damian's room in the morning. However, Caitlin's attitude toward her was generally not bad.
Compared to Elesa, Erika's personality was naturally softer. However, she did have a playful side once in a while.
Caitlin returned the greeting out of politeness. "Long time no see."
In her heart, Caitlin was not very happy about Erika's appearance.
Damian spoke to the two women. "It's getting late. Let's walk around Rota and rest here for the night."
He finally remembered why he had an impression of this place when Erika mentioned Rota. Rota had appeared in the movies. It was the stage for the movie about the Hero of the Wave.
The three of them entered Rota and took a simple walk. There was nothing outstanding about the place. The only thing worth mentioning was a building called Cameran Palace. A Queen lived inside the palace.
However, the current era was a time of freedom and equality managed by the Pokémon League. Kings, Queens, and other nobles were actually just titles. Almost every region had descendants of royal families.
For example, Acerola was a descendant of the Alolan royal family. Damian had met her before. Although the Pokémon League did not deny these royal titles, they were symbols with no real power.
Cameran Palace looked luxurious. In reality, it was just a small country in ancient times. It was not as glorious as the ancestors of Acerola. At the very least, the Alolan royal family had actually ruled the entire Alola region.
Damian raised an eyebrow as they passed a building. It was decorated very luxuriously. It was a Gym, but it seemed to be closed. "Oh? There is actually a Gym here."
Erika tilted her head to recall the information. "That is the Rota Gym, but it isn't very famous. I heard the Gym Leader is a successful businessman. After being a leader for a while, he went on a honeymoon trip with his wife."
The Kanto League officially had only eight Gyms. However, "official" meant Gyms managed by the League. In reality, there were many more Gym facilities in the Kanto region. There were many private Gyms that the Kanto League had not recognized.
This was true for almost every region. The only exception was the Alola League because Alola did not have Gym facilities.
Damian nodded and did not think about it much. "I see."
The three of them arrived at the hotel. They had booked three separate rooms.
The time reached 8:00 PM.
Directly across from Damian's room, a door opened slightly. Caitlin peeked through the crack. After a black-haired girl sneakily entered Damian's room, the Psychic-type girl straightened up again with an expressionless face. Caitlin thought that it was exactly what she expected.
Meanwhile, inside Damian's room, two figures were embracing each other.
The nature-loving young lady had flushed cheeks and was breathing heavily. Her beautiful eyes were misty as she gave the boy a look. She felt extremely overwhelmed by the kiss. Her tongue felt numb. Erika spoke. "Mr. Damian, I... I can almost not breathe."
Damian admired the delicate breasts of Erika. He thought her size was the perfect standard. Damian spoke. "I feel like your breasts have become even more beautiful."
Erika made a low sound like a small animal out of shyness. "Mm."
Although she had been mentally prepared, she was still very embarrassed.
The night was not long. As dawn broke and the stars and moon disappeared, the sky began to brighten.
The next day, the three of them rushed to their destination.
Caitlin felt curious. She looked at Erika with suspicion. Erika's steps were very steady. Her posture was not strange at all. This was a bit odd.
According to Caitlin's observations, Erika had definitely stayed in Damian's room all night. But Erika did not look like someone who had just experienced her first time.
However, Erika kept coughing and drinking water. She did this very frequently.
About an hour later, the group finally arrived at their destination. They stood in front of a cliff. A huge valley surrounded by high mountains appeared before them. In the center of the valley was an extremely giant structure in the shape of a tree.
A strange light flashed in Caitlin's eyes. She praised the ancient structure as she looked at it. "It's truly spectacular."
She could not even judge how huge this structure was. Based on a visual estimate, its width was at least hundreds or thousands of meters. Its height was even more exaggerated.
Erika was also deeply moved. She was shocked that this was a structure in the shape of a giant tree, but it was not a real plant. "The wonders of nature are truly amazing. Mr. Damian, is this really not a tree?"
Damian also admired this miracle. Damian explained. "You can call it a tree, but its essence is actually a crystal life form that relies on light to supply its energy. Its exterior is made of these ball-like rock layers."
That existence was the Tree of Beginning.
The movies had made it clear that this was a crystal life form, not a tree. Furthermore, this crystal life form had an extremely severe rejection reaction toward humans. If humans appeared inside it, the self-protection mechanism would trigger. It would swallow the humans.
Therefore, the Tree of Beginning only allowed Pokémon to live there. Many Fossil Pokémon lived inside, such as Aerodactyl and Armaldo.
The most important thing was that this Tree of Beginning had a symbiotic relationship with Mew. If Mew was weak, the Tree of Beginning became weak. If the Tree of Beginning was dying, Mew would also be dying.
In the movie, Mew rescued those who had been swallowed by the Tree of Beginning to save humans and their Pokémon. This caused Mew to nearly die, and the Tree of Beginning also fell into a dying state.
Erika blinked her large eyes. She was very curious about how Damian knew this. "Mr. Damian knows so much."
Damian smiled. "I happened to see a document about this place."
Damian looked around thoughtfully.
Damian spoke. "The environment here is indeed very good. Using this as the new ranch and farm is undoubtedly very suitable. However, there is one very inconvenient point."
Damian narrowed his eyes slightly as he looked at this massive valley. This place was large, remote, and beautiful. It had various rich resources. It was perfect for a ranch, though it lacked a snowy mountain.
But the Tree of Beginning was a problem. Damian was interested in it. Although it did not allow humans to enter, it was a paradise for Pokémon.
That was the issue. If the Tree of Beginning did not allow humans, how would they manage the Pokémon? If a Team Rocket member earned enough points and wanted a Dratini, how would they get it out?
Damian needed a manager.
Damian spoke to the two women. "Let's go. We will get a bit closer to take a look."
Damian released Reshiram. Erika cried out in admiration at the beauty of the white dragon. "So beautiful! Is this the Legendary Pokémon Reshiram?"
Reshiram heard the gasp from Erika. Its face remained indifferent, but it felt very proud. It believed it was the most beautiful Pokémon and the visual representative of Damian's team.
The white dragon carried the three of them and landed inside the valley.
Damian thought to himself as he walked toward the Tree of Beginning. "If I want to draw it out, I need a certain method."
Before they had walked for ten minutes, the ground began to vibrate.
A low, mechanical cry suddenly sounded in their ears. "Regi."
In front of the group, a Pokémon made of rocks slowly crawled out from underground to block their path. Its body was composed of grey rocks. There were orange rocks at the shoulders of its arms. On its head was a pattern made of seven dots in an "H" shape.
Erika was stunned. "This Pokémon is...?"
Caitlin recognized the Pokémon. "The Legendary Titan, Regirock!"
She was surprised. Brandon had used a Regirock to battle Zinnia in Hoenn, so Caitlin knew what it was. She wondered why there was a Regirock here.
Then, there was another low mechanical cry. "Regi."
Another Pokémon made entirely of ice crystals walked over and stopped beside Regirock. It was the Ice-type giant, Regice.
Damian clicked his tongue. "Coming to drive us out on your own initiative? Well, this is just as well. I don't need to go looking for you."
The corners of his mouth curled up. Since Regirock and Regice had appeared, Registeel was likely coming too. These three Legendary Titans existed to protect the Tree of Beginning and Mew.
This was exactly what Damian wanted.
Damian spoke. "I just happened to catch a new main team member. I'll use you two to test it out."
Damian spoke. "Darkrai."
Damian tapped his shadow. The shadow moved quickly, and the pitch-black nightmare rose from Damian's shadow.
Darkrai and Shiny Gengar were permanently staying in Damian's shadow. Damian also liked Marshadow. He wondered if it would be crowded if all three stayed in his shadow.
Damian focused on the situation in front of him.
Damian thought to himself. "If I capture you, that little fellow probably won't be able to sit still, right? I wonder what its reaction will be when it sees Shadow Mewtwo?"
His smile deepened. He was going to use the titans to force Mew to appear.
Mew was a wanderer with a mischievous personality. Damian did not know if it was inside the Tree of Beginning right now. However, he believed Mew would notice if he caught its three bodyguards.
He wondered what the reaction of Mew would be when it saw Shadow Mewtwo.
