At the Valken Family Estate,
Nita stepped out of the mansion and stopped only when she arrived at the driveway outside.
Everything that had just taken place ran through her mind like it was a scene from a movie, finally ending with her leaving the room.
She looked down at her palm, the one which she had placed on Jodie's shoulder, and knew exactly what her father wished to discuss with her.
After all, though the other two men in the room did not know what her father's words back then had meant, she was surely well aware of the meaning concealed in them.
She knew of her father's special abilities and hence, was sure that he had seen what she had planned to do.
'Or already did...' She corrected herself as her father's abilities were unique and certainly one of a kind.
The Head of the Valken family possessed the ability to peer into the future moments before it turned into reality.
Though Nita was not aware of all of the little nuances of this ability, when she was younger, her mother had explained that her father had visions of future events right before they took place.
Mostly, he would just let those events turn out just as he had seen in his vision of the future but there were times when he would intervene and mend the course of certain events, preventing them from taking place, like he had done with Nita earlier.
If everything had gone as Nita had planned, by the time she was done, she would have taught Jodie a lesson for his lack of respect and also given him a glimpse of what to expect if he acted out in her presence once again.
Seeing how her father had stepped in at just the right moment, before she could teach him a much-needed lesson, she knew that in his vision, she had succeeded in doing so.
However, in reality, she had simply placed her palm on his shoulder and just shown him a glimpse of what she was capable of, with the intention of giving him a good scare.
Not much had taken place before her father had put an end to what she had intended to do, which somehow brought about a sense of regret within her for leaving her plans incomplete.
As she was lost in thought, she heard hurried footsteps behind her.
Turning around, she found the two brothers of the Tuskar family rushing in her direction.
Rowan was ahead, and he had his hand on Jodie's collar, dragging him along as they hurried to where she stood.
"I really do not want the two of you arguing." The oldest in this trio announced as he shot a glare at Jodie before turning to give a pleading glance at Nita.
Sensing his attempt to maintain the peace between the cousins, in reply, Nita simply raised her hands in defeat as she would never be the one to initiate any conflict.
However, she was not one to step down from a fight if provoked, so she turned her narrowed eyes to Jodie, awaiting his response as well.
"I promise, I won't." Jodie mumbled, unwilling to meet her gaze as each time he did so, he felt that pain in his shoulder returning with a vengeance.
'I should get that checked once I get home...' He planned to figure out what this brat had done to him in the office earlier.
Though, right now, he had no intention of revealing his plans as even his sibling had betrayed him earlier and would not believe it even if he told him about the tricks Nita had played on him.
Therefore, Jodie chose to be obedient, at least for the moment, until he could find out what was wrong with his body today.
"Shall we take my car?" Rowan inquired about what to do next after receiving a positive response from the two he was asked to babysit by the Valken family Head.
Nita had no objection to his offer as she had just returned to the city and had no car, so she did not mind who drove her around as long as she reached her destination safely.
On the other hand, Jodie had come here with his brother so he too agreed, as the only other option he had was to hire a cab which he had no plans of doing right now.
Having received their positive responses once again, Rowan was in a good mood and asked a servant to bring his car around from the garage.
The Valken family men, Uri and Detrim, liked cars so there was a huge garage behind the mansion where Rowan had parked his car when he had arrived here.
So he sent someone to fetch his vehicle and the three of them stood in silence while they waited for the car to arrive.
Nita stared at the greenery ahead and her thoughts went back to the past.
Her brother had always been a car enthusiast, so she, as the younger sibling, was often forced to sit and listen to his excited rants about different car models and their unique specs.
Though she had been below the legal driving age, Detrim had taught her to drive in their backyard and even taken her to race courses secretly without their parents' knowledge.
There, her brother helped her hone her driving skills and even taught her how to race.
Therefore, having personally witnessed how skillful he was, Nita had her doubts when her father had revealed that Detrim had lost control of his car while driving.
While her father had later explained that there might be another reason why the accident had taken place, she still wished to visit the accident site and take a look at the place herself.
As she was still lost in her thoughts, a navy blue, sleek sedan came to a halt near them.
The servant hurried out of the car and held the backseat door open for her while the two men took their seats in the front.
Rowan sat in the driver's seat as this was his car and Jodie took the passenger seat next to him.
After making sure that she was comfortable in her seat, Rowan fired up the engine, making it roar to life before he stepped on the accelerator.
The car soon sped out of the driveway and headed out of the Valken family estate.
"Do you know any trustworthy car dealers in the city?" Nita suddenly inquired, breaking the awkward silence in the car.
Her eyes were aimed at Rowan whose car they were in, ignoring Jodie, who rolled his eyes at her.
"You want to buy a new car?" Rowan responded, finding it odd that she was asking him this question.
The Valken family's garage was filled with cars, ranging from vintage to the latest models.
Therefore, he found it funny that she was planning to buy a new one when her family already owned so many of them.
Thinking of a certain memory, he chuckled and then shook his head.
"I don't think you have to buy a new one but if you still wish to, then just give me a call and we can go shopping." He suggested and saw Nita nod her head through the rearview mirror.
Nita knew that he was talking about the numerous cars in the family garage but none of them belonged to her so she had indeed planned to buy one for herself.
"I'll give you a call when I'm free." She disclosed and saw him nod as well.
The two cousins conversing so amicably only made Jodie scoff at them but he did not attempt to join them, nor did he try to interrupt them.
Thus, the three youngsters made their journey to the secluded part of the city where Detrim's car had been discovered after the accident.
