Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: The Hall of Origins

Silence.

The ancient chamber fell into complete silence once the golden light faded.

Crystal remained rooted where she stood, her emerald eyes fixed on Kieran.

"...What else did you hear?"

Kieran frowned.

He closed his eyes, trying to recall the voice.

"It was... old."

"Not old like Grandpa..."

He scratched his head sheepishly before correcting himself.

"I mean... older."

"So old that I couldn't tell if it was a man or a woman."

"It wasn't loud."

"It just..."

"...felt familiar."

Crystal and Kael exchanged a glance.

Neither of them spoke.

---

Kieran slowly walked toward the central pedestal once more.

Unlike before, Crystal did not stop him.

Every instinct screamed that this place held unimaginable secrets.

Yet...

Those same instincts also whispered something else.

It meant Kieran no harm.

---

The boy stopped before the empty pedestal.

He gently placed both hands upon its cold stone surface.

Nothing happened.

He tilted his head.

"That's strange."

"What is?"

Crystal asked.

"It feels..."

He frowned.

"...empty."

"As if someone took something away."

The moment those words left his mouth...

A deep vibration rippled through the chamber.

BOOM!

The pillars trembled.

Golden veins spread across the floor like flowing rivers.

Ancient runes hidden beneath layers of stone awakened one after another.

Kael immediately stepped before Crystal.

"Be careful."

Crystal's aura quietly gathered around her.

Not in hostility...

But in preparation.

---

One mural suddenly shone brighter than the others.

It depicted countless races standing beneath an enormous tree whose branches stretched into the stars.

Humans.

Dragons.

Phoenixes.

Giants.

Spirits.

Beast Kings.

Even races Crystal had never seen before.

At the center of them all...

Stood a single figure.

Its face had long since eroded away.

Only one detail remained untouched by time.

The figure held a sphere of intertwined black and white light.

Not light and darkness.

Not life and death.

Something...

Far deeper.

---

Kieran stared at it.

"...Why can't I see his face?"

Crystal looked carefully.

"What do you mean?"

"The face."

"It's blurry."

Crystal's pupils contracted.

"There is no face."

Kieran slowly shook his head.

"No..."

"There is."

"I just can't remember it."

---

The instant those words echoed through the hall...

The mural changed.

Stone began moving.

Not breaking...

Moving.

Like water.

The faceless figure slowly raised one hand.

Every race surrounding it bowed.

Not out of fear.

But respect.

Then...

The image froze once more.

As though it had never moved at all.

---

Kael's fur stood on end.

"I saw it."

Crystal nodded.

"So did I."

"This place..."

"...is alive."

---

Suddenly...

A soft pulse spread through the chamber.

One.

Two.

Three.

Each pulse resonated with Kieran's heartbeat.

Boom...

Boom...

Boom...

The golden Magna in the air began gathering around him.

Yet none of it entered his body.

Instead...

It revolved around him peacefully.

Like stars orbiting a moon.

Crystal's breathing slowed.

She had seen Magna gather around powerful geniuses before.

She had seen Heavenly Physiques awaken.

She had witnessed Sovereigns shake continents.

But this...

This was different.

The Magna wasn't obeying Kieran.

It wasn't being attracted to him.

It was...

Celebrating.

---

Far beneath the chamber...

Beyond countless ancient seals...

Within a place untouched by time...

A pair of colossal golden eyes slowly opened.

Chains the size of mountains rattled softly.

Not because something struggled against them.

But because something had awakened.

The being looked upward.

Beyond layers of earth.

Beyond ancient formations.

Beyond the Hall of Origins.

Its gaze stopped upon a single child.

"So..."

"The bloodline still endures."

A faint smile echoed within the darkness.

"Not awakened..."

"...but remembered."

The eyes slowly closed once more.

The chains became still.

The countless seals remained unbroken.

Whatever lay imprisoned there...

Had no intention of escaping.

Not yet.

---

Back inside the chamber...

The light finally faded.

Everything returned to normal.

Only one thing had changed.

At the base of the empty pedestal...

A single crack had appeared.

Crystal knelt before it.

Carefully brushing away thousands of years of dust.

Hidden beneath the stone...

Was an inscription.

Not written in any language known within the Melika Realm.

Yet...

The moment Kieran looked upon it...

He read it effortlessly.

"The beginning is not the origin."

"The end is not the destination."

"The one who remembers..."

"...shall walk where Gaia first dreamed."

Crystal's breath caught.

"You..."

"You can read it?"

Kieran looked at her innocently.

"Wasn't it written in the common tongue?"

Kael and Crystal fell completely silent.

Neither of them could understand a single symbol.

To them...

It was nothing more than incomprehensible ancient script.

Crystal slowly rose to her feet.

Her heart pounded.

Not from fear.

But from realization.

This wasn't a forgotten language.

It predated the languages of the current age.

Yet Kieran had read it as naturally as breathing.

For the first time...

Even Crystal began to wonder if Kieran's bloodline was older than history itself.

As the three prepared to leave the Hall of Origins...

None of them noticed...

High upon one of the tallest pillars...

A tiny seed of golden light had quietly appeared.

It settled into a crack in the ancient stone.

Waiting.

Just as it had waited countless ages before.

For the day its true master would return.
