Distinguished himself in the suppression of the Redgrass March Revolt, where he reorganized a faltering center and secured victory through disciplined counter-maneuver. Defeated Ser Jonos Vyrwel in single combat during the skirmish at Bitterbridge Ford. Credited with tactical command during the Ashen Heath engagement, where he split cavalry reserves to break an entrenched formation.

Named to the Kingsguard in his 22nd year by King Aegon VI Blackfyre. Swore lifelong celibacy despite royal blood and succession proximity.

Upon the peaceful death of Lord Commander Emmons Pyke, elevated to Lord Commander of the Kingsguard in his 45th year and in the 2nd year of King Haegon I's reign.
